about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

This license is the most restrictive of our six main licenses, only allowing others to download your works and share them with others as long as they credit you, but they can’t change them in any way or use them commercially.

alec troniq – mind mill
Summer has arrived, finally. And nothing could prove that better than the new Broque EP from Alec Troniq which seems to anticipate the entire outdoor fun to come in a single EP. The “Mind Mill” EP is loaded with swinging and melodic house tracks and beams with playful ideas, light melodies, a fair share of hands-in-the-air moments and a good deal of pop appeal. Dresden-based Alec Troniq gives us five new tracks seducing us with their sunny temper and light-hearted charm. While “I Don’t Need” is carried by its passionate vocals, the hot-blooded “Like So” and “Soulquake Girl” embrace you with their playful flamenco-like guitar hooks and subtle filter vibes. Last but not least the powerful magic of “Mind Doodles”, featuring the distinctive vocals of Gabriel Vitel, condenses all the magic ingredients of this EP into one strikingly beautiful house track: traditional songwriter skills with a touch of big emotions embedded into enthralling grooves which work their charms on the dancefloor as well as beyond. For the darker side of the night, Broque mate DML contributes his own dub techno take on the “Mind Doodles” theme and concludes an EP which – we are certain – will be a regular encounter during this very summer season.

“Style of this album is a Poem core.
Based on the impact of the Japanese sub-culture (anime, music, comedy, game, radio) it was created in a room of small dark home.
It is said to emerge from the magnificent strain of day-to-day trivial matters.
In this album, abstract language has been used in addition to the Japanese.
Even a man speaking in Japanese when listening will not understand half.
I believe that there is value in that kind of chaos.” – BOOL

Nev.Era feat. LaMeduza – Distant EP
Far away in a hot country, where the forests aren´t growing and rain isn´t raining. Only a dry crude desert, stones and dust that are surrounding your mind. Nobody´s present. Only you and your passion to music, which will follow you, step by step, to the next place called DISTANT. Distant EP is coming right now from the Spanish producer Nev.Era and his friend LaMeduza. The part of this EP is also mysterious remix from Slovak producer Abnormal.

Night. A small but beautiful window of exclusive light, the last active window in a dark city, showing the attic of a poor but genius inventor, playing piano, while the transmitters send out the frequencies via fm radio, masked informations of future Wu Wei resistance.

Some of you will already know [mikra]’s releases from the netlabel world. If not please await a full length sample piano synth mashup collage album creation of hope, deconstruction, light and shadows. Slightly spooky at some points, but the musical n electronica love lets you keep touch to the air.

“Spectral Adumbrations”

Caroline Jago – Spectral Adumbrations
After recovering from Tomorrow’s Harvest (the delightful new album that is a joy to behold from Boards of Canada) Kahvi has a new guest artist in town – Caroline Jago is some new and fresh ambient talent that approached Kahvi recently, and after listening to the demo I was impressed by the depth and feel of the tracks.

Seven tracks of ambient bliss in ‘Spectral Adumbrations’ await you, from the random-beginning Hope that leads onto an addictive composition of epic proportions to the delicate choir driven track Agnus Dei.

Formulating an ever increasing wall of sound in Submergence, Caroline shows us that there is life after BOC, if not in the same genre, then definately in a similar feel good vibe

Wacky Southern Current

“Argonautica”

Wacky Southern Current – Argonautica
Marco Cervellin, the force behind Wacky Southern Current, returns with his third album on No-Source. Argonautica continues the trend of high quality instrumental albums from Marco. To give Wacky Southern Current one genre is to sell the music short. A wide range of influences fill up each release from Marco. Argonautica is no exception. This is a more guitar-centric album with Kraut influences, particularly on the track “We Are Argonauts.” “French Radio” is a short burst of experimental soundscape, while “Blues in A” is an excellent seven minute jazz workout. Wacky Southern Current heads is new directions with such musicianship that it’s hard to believe they haven’t been there all along. Argonautica is: Marco Cervellin – guitars, bass, keyboards. Gianni “Ian” Garbo – guitars. Giacomo Gatti – drums.

agnès pe works on sound beyond the limits enshrined by any genre. her work is characterized by a fun and overwhelming attitude – an all or nothing style that covers the parameters of lo-fi music. this self-taught musicologist is a multidisciplinary researcher that is encapsulated by mystifying melodies and is always seeking new ways of relating to the elements she re-composes. she is interested in the non-common, regardless of their label.

her first album is based on electronics and samples. beats, mechanics, factory work, pummel.

Steve Hilmy

“This Space Occupied (by Maida)”

Steve Hilmy – This Space Occupied (by Maida)
This is a recording of a performance at the Barents Spektakel Festival in Kirkines, at the top of Norway in the Arctic circle February 2013. This recording is the work *as performed* captured by streaming 18 stems to disk during the performance and mixed later on the plane on the way back to the US.

This Space Occupied (by Maida) was originally commissioned by the Washington Project for the Arts for a 5-hour endurance performance in an elevated glass cage at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC fall of 2012. It is an interactive performance of structured improvisation, stream of consciousness choices by Maida Withers as performer and dancer, and Steve Hilmy as musician and composer, that reveal the precariousness of life in the glass cage. The 5-hour endurance event was inspired by notions of the Occupy movement. Portions of Maida’s text are fragments of poetry of David McAleavey who is a professor of literature and creative writing at George Washington University, and Alex Caldiero a poet, polyartist, sonosopher, and scholar of humanities and intermedia and a professor of Philosophy and Humanities at Utah Valley State College.

In this recorded performance Maida Withers wears a headset mic and Steve Hilmy processes her speech and movement while performing on keyboard, computer, and miscellaneous controllers, making all sonic decisions in the moment.

Dub-I

“Creation”

Creation
From the vast area of Siberia/Russia, a new dub sound is created. Kirill aka Dub-i has been composing and recording electronic music for the last 5 years, keeping his productions hidden from the mainstream. Inspired by the Rastafarian movement, he dares to combine the roots/reggae dub with the modern sounds of his environment, creating irie soundcsapes, pushing the dub as we know, it into new unexplored areas.

Dubophonic is proud to to have Dub-I’s “Creation” as the first release on the netlabel. The name of his album symbolizes not only the birth of our new netlabel, but also the birth of a new sound. His album “Creation”, released only in digital format, aims to lead all sound-travelers to adventurous dub journeys of experimental ambiance. Dub-I’s special vision on dub music is to fill the heart of each and every one of us with with love and peace, through the earthly vibrations and the deep musicality of his tracks.

The ten tracks, of which four are just over two minutes long, are different than the conventional style of dub, as we know it today. Nevertheless we should be proud of his musical innovations, since dub is all about experimenting.
