about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Baltazar – Abstrakthas

Baltazar – Abstrakthas
[pn146]

Baltazar

“Abstrakthas”

“‘Abstrakthas’ by the Cuban artist Baltazár, is a work that was published independently in 2009, and which now
sees the light of a label release for the first time.

A mix between the classical, the digital, music concréte, architecture, voices and endless possibilities, all of
them modulated by infinite reverberations that merge as the tracks develop, with sounds that oscillate in all
directions while delivering an overwhelming listening experience.

In its composition, the album ‘Abstrakthas’ uses the violin as a conductive thread that pulls the different
works of the publication together into a melancholic story that, in some way or another, incites a deep
reflection on the various sounds that are revealed as the work progresses, playing with the mood perception and
delivering a wide range of sensations.

Recorded mostly as independent stereo tracks, which are subsequently superimposed with the purpose of realizing
a maticulous and patient sonic construction, based on the sonic blocks resulting from these recordings,
‘Abstrakthas’ is also the first chapter of the larger work ‘bordermuzak’, which collects all the artist’s
works from 1999 to 2016. It should be noted, however, that ‘bordermuzak’ does not compile the works
chronologically but rather as chapters of a novel written over the years.”

!ESC – Drfy

!ESC – Drfy
[ST007]

!ESC

“Drfy”

!Esc Belgrade-born multimedia artist Niña Lazareva.

She showing an affinity towards a wide palette of styles especially related to the electronic underground.

Her formative project Catfish Went Wrong exposed her passion for deep and minimal sounds, growing up with funkier, UK garage-influenced music , while Nanna Delay was more influenced by dub techno and haunting atmospheres which resulted in experimenting with tracks which show stronger emphasis on rhythmical progression and gave birth to her final !ESC where she plunged into the darker underbelly and music depths influenced by the more cavernous side of darkwave and industrial phase.

Sound of !ESC can be described as the sound of ambient techno in its spooky beauty. Droning atmospheres with a sinister and darkly seductive edge permeate the austere and slowly evolving harmonies, driven by subliminal beats.
Waves of ambient textures are engulfed in the sea of ambiences and vocal mantras , resembling an ocean of drowning memories and illusions.
In her tracks there is a reflective and pensive mood, asphyxiated ambience and insistent kick. With a simultaneously spare and detailed, and hypnotic and immersive sound.

!Esc unveils her obscure and delicate charms on her debut release for Secuencias Temporales.

Ultramerda – Plastika

Ultramerda – Plastika
[IYE35]

Ultramerda

“Plastika”

The parental advisory’s warning, is no longer used today. the language of everyday life has broken the glass of censorship in the face of mothers against rock.

However Plastika would not need any stamp: your ears are ready to swallow this poet ante litteram that chews digital hardcore, cantautore and do it yourself. Proudly self-produced in everything from texts to recording.

Plastika are 12 tracks of a continuous loading and unloading of energy, in the form of syncopated shots and more intimate and rarefied passages.

Approved with the stamp by In Your Ears Netlabel.

Number Eleven – Resistance

Number Eleven – Resistance
[EEM050]

Number Eleven

“Resistance”

A system created to analyze reality and perception got its inputs removed because it was going out of control. This fix damaged the reality by feedbacking the system on its repercussions causing incorrect analysis until the dream of reality became a stream of negative numbers. The resistance against the system was initiated to prevent it from corrupting the perception of reality, even though, it was already shaping the perception the way it wanted to, because the reality did not favour the system.

Broken and syncopated stream of percussive attack, punching through disharmonic leftovers in reverberation, not welcoming you at all by constantly reminding of its continuously corrupting state.

Jean Ray – Le Refuge

Jean Ray – Le Refuge
[at100]

Jean Ray

“Le Refuge”

Jean Ray is the sound project of pluridisciplinary artist Romain Arnette, based in Paris and initially formed in London in 2009.

Experimentation is at the heart of his creative process. He uses different instruments such as guitar, harmonica, percussions, also fields recordings to create a bank of textures and sounds that he transforms and manipulates. The superposition of these fragments combined with electronic sound sources and some software such as pool creates minimalist compositions, an enveloping sound mass where repetitive structures meet sometimes abstract rhythms.

“Le Refuge” album was composed at the end of a two-years stay in Canada, from 2017 to 2019. This album is marked by several isolation experiments in various natural environments, during his crossing of Canada from east to the west by the road.

It also reflects the gradual slowing down of time that allowed him to observe more precisely the environment in which he has evolved, and brought him to moments of deeper introspections.

All tracks recorded and mixed by Jean Ray.

Mastering by Jan Wysozky.

“Wattfutchureez presents Beat Garden Compilation 8”

We know Wattfutchureez (What-Future-Is) through Ness Radio, that is supporting GERGAZ music since long time ago. The guy is DJing, producing, hosting artists and he is also no stranger to compilations.
We knew his taste and he knew what works for us. It was the easiest decision to make when we started thinking about the next Beat Garden presenter.

Pandacetamol

“Driftwood”

Lots of oldskool influences in this new album from Pandacetamol. Obviously a fan of the classic 303 sound, with additional effects to create something unique out of an immediately familiar sound. Harp at Noon has that lovely, liquid metal feel of Diskreets classic release way back at #100.

Lately Kind Of Yeah – Gastr

Lately Kind Of Yeah – Gastr

Lately Kind Of Yeah

“Gastr”

Part of the Lately Kind of Yeah archive series.

Gastr is yet another short but sweet EP offering from Lately Kind of Yeah. Fully in his element of noise / pop master craftsmanship and containing some of my favorite tracks from him, “Where is My Jaw” and “Meditate”. A fine place to begin with LKOY if you are just beginning to explore his archive.

Words from the artist:

“Sometime in 2014, an original B.C. Rich Warlock was gifted to me by one of my dad’s old buddies. I took it as a sign that out in the ether, my dad was still listening and encouraging me to keep writing music. The Warlock has since become a phenomenal inspiration with all of its quirks and issues, leading my writing towards a darker and more abrasive sound. Gastr came together quickly as our ‘getting to know each other’ exercise, influenced by the many noise and pop bands I was listening to, and the Warlock itself.”
