about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

The project is a CD which consists of recorded sounds inside the halls of the 2015 Venice Biennale. I worked on field recordings, altering things while trying to maintain a certain sense. I excluded the installations that had soundtracks, preferring those which were closer to the noise … The work is comprised of two tracks: the first track is made with the sounds of the pavilions in the Giardini, the second track with the sounds inside the environments of the Arsenale.

Anonymous3 – Analogue 100101
To take us up to Christmas 2015, something a little special. Two releases two celebrate the roots of IDM and electronica, that we enjoy listening to at Kahvi by all the fantastic artists released over the years. The first release is by guest artist ‘Anonymous3’ with his six track EP entitled ‘Analogue 100101’.

After listening to the EP for the first time, I was struck by how familiar the tracks sounded compared to those albums I listened to in the early 90s. Halycon could have featured heavily on DJ mixes of the time with its long drawn out pads and 808 percussion, where Breath is a tribute to acid house. Heliopause and Metamorphosis could have come straight out of pirate radio broadcasts direct from London in 1994.

Enjoy this blast from the past – and watch out for part 2 of this celebration of the roots of electronica in the next release!

USIT

“Jetlag Dreams”

USIT – Jetlag Dreams
USIT is the name of transcontinental duo consisting of Florida-based guitarist Jeff Duke and Sicily-based (and Sucumusic’s own) guitarist Gaetano Fontanazza.

“Jetlag Dreams” is their fourth release and the first one on Sucumusic.

The two guitar maestros are masters of electronic devices too and their music is a whirlpool where ambient, psychedelic visions and cosmic drones meet glitches and rhythms that add colours and dimensions to the whole. The working method adopted by Usit on their previous releases (“Approaching”, 2010 – “Reunion”, 2011 – “Somewhere in the Ocean of Night”, 2011) is live improvisation via Ninjam (an online protocol that allows musicians jamming together in realtime via the Internet), but for the present release each of the two men worked in their own homes, then sharing files and processing them. The result, as usual, is an astounding web of palette of sounds which flow in and out of categorization, thus pleasing and appeasing the senses of the listener.

about
Hello and welcome to the Underpopular hits compilation, the third of its kind!

This is the idea: everytime another 20 albums get released on the Underpolen Netlabel, the glorious father of the undernation, Jan Strach, lovingly selects one song from each release to compile into a presentation for all of mankind, to represent what Underpolen is all about.

And we are about freedom of creative expression, creativity with no boundaries, laughing in the face of genre divisions, we love slip-ups and false starts, accidental noises and experiments of all kind. Pixels, artifacts, blurs and smudges around the edges. Ballpoint marks, scratchmarks, fingerprints all over the lovely amateur, homemade creations.

And we would like to share all of it with you.

The lovingly murky, atmospheric rock of poj.wlkp, trapped in a world of eternal sunset;

The ever surprising imrpovised rock of Projekt Luty, where at all times there has to be at least one person included with no background in music whatsoever; ranging from noise and electronics, to casio backing psychedelic twisted soundscapes,

The mysterious, beautiful piano meanderings captured via dictaphone of Proyect? Moone Jazzers, a musician from western Europe who never told us who he was, sent us these lofi recordings and vanished;

The deconstruction of all that we know about rock music, straight from Deftechnixks;

The layered stream of consciousness synth loops amounting to a chillwave orgasmo from Everywhere Kingdom;

The many faces of Jan Strach, from goth rocker, through intricate meditations over an ocean, to casio melodies for children and full fledged electronified punk rock;

Noises and field-recording drones and collages of Secrets Of The 45, sometimes together with Romania’s Nava Spatiala;

Troglodisco of D.L.A.M.I.A.D., clashing ripped samples with a tact and style of a 12 year old deaf kid with elephant hands.

And as always three bonus tracks for your enjoyment because we love you dearly.

If you dig any of these artists in particular, there are links to their bandcamp accounts when you click on a track.

Cheers and thanks,
Jan Strach

The Dub Vaders – Herbs & Trips
Review

The Dub Vaders could be one of the best kept secrets of the Chilean electronic scene, offering a spectrum of precious tracks linking current and future urban beats, a deep legacy of Dub and some inclination to the dark side of things, that adds a flirty dose of evil to their music.
Herbs & Trips is a brief but resounding trip, where the first two tracks immerse us into an intoxicating cloud that serves as an instruction manual, preparing us for the closure of this magnificent EP, where they allow us to enjoy one of the best electronic tracks released in this part of the world during the current season.

When you can’t find the light within yourself, as you believe, you search for it in others instead, totally forgetting about yourself… no matter how ominous this situation sounds, eventually you find your way back, through growth and experience. To your own light within you…

Sometimes your self-esteem is being lowered by others to the point of complete destruction of your ego, your protective shell. You feel small, worthless, insecure and profoundly hurt. But, pain is our greatest lesson in the end, because out of pain comes the most profound growth.
That’s why I’m thankful.

Colony – Miles And Miles Of Nothing
In “Miles And Miles Of Nothing” Colony blends ambient and drone sounds with guitar riffs and guitar arpeggios, effects and distortion up to create a deep sound and addictive flow.

Walls in distortion and ethereal synthetic carpets, which Colony leads us to places unknown and unpredictable sound, give life to the four tracks that make up the album.

Colony is a project founded in 2007 and based on electronic music, experimental, ambient and drone.

I think its time for a big THANK YOU!!
i wanted to make a longer posting, but no one reads it anyways, so i will keep it short:

Thanks to everyone who supported my little Label over the last 10 years. Thanks to you, It grew to one of the most respected techno-netlabels out there. Thanks to the 170 Artists from all over the Globe who were involved. Thanks for now more than 1.000.000 Downloads without any Advertisements or Campaigns. Thanks for all the friends and comrades i found through this project. Music connects. Thanks for all the unforgettable moments. And thanks for all the money we generated through our Sublabel “Limited Edition”. Every Cent went directly to a local Humanitarian Organization. We probably saved lives out there. But we will always keep it low Profile. It’s all about sharing. Thanks. You know who you are. Thanks for all the support in the “dark times” recently. Zimmer will never die… Lets bring on the next 10 years… –Aleks

Zimmer loves YOU. Yes, you!!!

Ars Sonor – The Subdued Inferno
I walk the path of perennial changes with effervescent attitude, but it wasn’t always like that. This EP is a gentle reminder that all the darkness you could go through will dissolve in the healing rain of light eventually. There is no inferno except the one that we create for ourselves… We are spiritual beings experiencing the physical life, not vice versa, and we are here on this planet to enjoy our experiences. And we cannot be destroyed.
Our energies are eternal.

Realm

“Distance”

Realm – Distance
Time for a complete change of pace on Kahvi this month. Guest artist ‘Realm’ appears to be an ambient master, and his 7 track, 55 minute album of epic tracks are created purely to allow you to drift on a sea made of glass.

Slow moving, evolving ambient passages kicked off by the fitting introduction track ‘Celestial Resonance’ leads into a little more Lackluster-esque styled track ‘Mentat’ with floating arpeggios diving into the abyss.

For this ambient fan, the epic ‘Sentinel’ is a track to switch off and kick back, in all its 10.5 minutes playing time, and ‘Self Loops and Voices’ reminds me of another ambient master at Kahvi – Curious Inversions.

Enjoy this delicate wind down after summer and watch out for another epic release next month!
