about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Shred Lexicon – Déjà Vu B/W The Happy Ending

Shred Lexicon – Déjà Vu B/W The Happy Ending
[BSMX0212]

Shred Lexicon

“Déjà Vu B/W The Happy Ending”

A bit over 20 years ago, Regenerated Headpiece released their independent debut album “Rat Race Vacation” and have gone on to release three albums thus far. The most recent, 2009’s “The New Animal” features contributions by Chuck D of Public Enemy. Since then writer, editor and one-third of RHP, Shred Lexicon has continued recording. He has featured on RHP alum Headsnack’s solo debut, “Secret Handshake”, and performed on a dozen recordings with Eli and the Mannings.

Today we’re thrilled to say that we have his first single “Déjà Vu B/W The Happy Ending” for you to enjoy. For you Regenerated Headpiece fans out there, you’ll be happy to know that “Déjà Vu” features production by Headsnack and cuts by DJ Exfyl! Yeah, buddy. Enjoy some hip-hop to help close out this month of April. Yup.

Yo Shred, dope new songs! Thank you!! It’s a pleasure to be able to release them here. Many thanks to Headsnack, DJ Exfyl & Old Yist!

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!

Various Gorge Bootists – GORGE OUT “HERE” 2022

Various Gorge Bootists – GORGE OUT “HERE” 2022

Various Gorge Bootists

“GORGE OUT “HERE” 2022”

GORGE.IN has completed its 10th anniversary compilation “GORGE OUT “HERE” 2022″. The total number of tracks is 45, and the total time is over 2 hours and 40 minutes. A terrifying adventure of madness is enclosed here.

This monster compilation proves it. The bootists (as the artists who create gorges are called) came from 20 regions across Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, and from abroad, including Germany, the U.S., Argentina, Aotearoa (New Zealand), Nepal, and many other countries. Gorge is a mix of gorges from every region of the world, a music that can be found anywhere in the world and nowhere else in the world.

The backgrounds of the participants are diverse. Techno, Dubstep, Hip-hop, Ondo, GQOM, Rock, Noise, Punk ・・・・. All kinds of genres coexist here, swallowed up on the extremely open and vast wildness of Gorge music.

You may be asking, “Is this real?” Despite being active since the early days of Gorge, the recordings include bootists DJ Nanga, MVVM, and others whose existence is in doubt. George Jukemura is deceased, and his sound files came to us by fax. “Isn’t this fictional?” I would like to answer, “The truth is that music exists here”. The existence of this 45-tracks of awesome vibration is unquestionably real. What other information do we need?

Gorge’s last ten years have been “embryo”. With this album, Gorge’s true story has finally begun to unfold. What comes next? Please listen to this album and look forward to it.

Laurent Fairon

“Passage du rollifer”

New back-from-the-archives album for the first time on the internet, Passage du Rollifer is a ‘lost album’ I recorded back in 2018 which eventually never materialized anywhere. A collection of 8 tracks with the usual loops, sequences, collages and found sounds, it also features three ‘songs’ where I’m reading some of my own poetry in French. Both instrumental tracks and ‘songs’ are special to me, dealing with personal issues of childhood traumas, adult fears and loss—themes I’m not usually dealing with, in music or else.

“Poŭnač”

Invisible Illusion – Thee Mystery Unveiled

Invisible Illusion – Thee Mystery Unveiled
[LCNLP147]

Invisible Illusion

“Thee Mystery Unveiled”

The Necrophile Hummingbird Netlabel presents Thee Mystery Unveiled by Invisible Illusion.
“Esoteric Music for Illuminated People”.

About the surface of this album :

“What the caterpillar calls the end, the rest of the world calls a butterfly.” (Fake Lao Tzu quote, which might come from Chuang Tzu talking about the transformation of things )
Unthinkable, like in the psychedelic experience when you touch something and are unable to be bring it back in human consciousness, letting us with the question : from where this is coming ?
Indeed, the trademark of this netlabel…
Really the fruit of many changes. Another Invisible Illusion’s album more noise was planned to be release first but it’s now in standby, maybe because it’s too long for my actual tastes. Also, because despite there is a plan I try my best to learn and it seems the split form of the two first albums is not so relevant. Finally, I prefer the form we used with the two sides of Beyond Magick Dreams A-Side & B-Side by Multiple Personality 3 for example. This record could sounds like the right next after OVER CAN, but in fact it’s the opposite, we achieved it just before to worked out OVER CAN.
So, don’t be surprise if the borderline between Invisible Illusion and Pirate Tapes is actually very thin : it’s a collaboration with Studio 112.

About the depths of this album :

Perhaps I could talk about the super ego in Isis Unveiled by H.P Blavatsky. And so explain that the mysterious signal, that many sensitive persons or precogs, like would say Philip K. Dick, is only coming from another part of each one hidden beyond a veil. Because of the latency, some do not understand that it creates a kind of reflection of our acts. So if instead to use it like any feedback system, we try to follow these orders we just get insane, the same way that someone looking into the mirror will fall into a mise en abîme…
I could…
But I may already talked about it in the presentation of the Necktar 2017 v2 related to this book… or somewhere else. And it’s definitively better to understand it by yourself than to read it from someone else.
If not, at that point you could feel close to face a magician showing his tricks…
What’s the point to live, if we can’t experiment by ourself ?

Good listen & thanks a lot for the support.

Special thoughts to someone very dear to my friend Studio 112.

Dedicated to everyone aware that despite trying to live without any veils, behind each one there is another one, only invisible at this point. May the sūtra of the diamond be a blessing to advance in your quest.

Palancar – Aliquid Ex Nihilo

Palancar – Aliquid Ex Nihilo

Palancar

“Aliquid Ex Nihilo”

Most scientists today believe in reductionism, a principle that says all phenomena in nature can ultimately be reduced to just two physical theories: general relativity and the standard model.

Another way of saying this, perhaps more interestingly, is that all phenomena we see in the macro world around us are derived from uncountable (but finite) numbers of fundamental interactions that together add up to results of amazing complexity and intricacy — results that seem impossible given how elementary are the fundamental interactions.

Scientists call this sort of thing “emergent phenomena”, the situation when an entity has properties its component parts do not have on their own. Everything we see around us, including life and consciousness, happens as a side effect from vast numbers of fundamental interactions, all taking place simultaneously and purely by accident. I’m no deist, but this state of affairs feels to me uncomfortably like magic. My thoughts as I write these words are just physical accidents derived from all the known physics churning inside me? Untenable. There has to be more to the story than that.

For this reason, emergence in nature has always fascinated me. I’ve long felt there is something profound lurking in emergence that our science and philosopy today do not yet understand. Why does the random statistical behavior of a sea of particles add up to life and sentience, and not just some bland featureless noise? And where did music come from in all this miraculous emergence?

This is precisely what I am studying in the method for this album. What happens when I stochastically combine musical phrases and ideas that are themselves self-generated? Will emergence occur? Or will I end up with bland featureless noise?

The rules for the method are simple: 1). constrain myself to (virtual) analog modular synthesis; 2). construct generative musical phrases in isolation of each other that share only a few basic properties; 3) combine these phrases stochastically; and finally 4). orchestrate the results so there is a human element involved and the results feel intentional. The hope is that with this method I can construct music that is only partially of my own creation, that somehow enlists the help of emergence, so that nature itself is also helping to construct the music.

That’s the idea, anyway.

Did I succeed in causing emergence to spontaneously occur? Well, I don’t know about all that, but I can say that I enjoyed the method and will certainly continue to explore the world of generative music. I find the results worthwhile, and so I thought I should share the music with you, the listener, so you can form your own opinions about whether nature intervened to create listenable music.

So I am happy to unveil my latest release, called “Aliquid Ex Nihilo”, which is Latin for “something out of nothing”. Did I create something or did I create nothing? You be the judge. I’m just here having fun and loving the process.

Jorge Grela – SCRUM

Jorge Grela – SCRUM
[pn204]

Jorge Grela

“SCRUM”

Dance and music since prehistoric times have developed hand in hand as a form of ritual, and it is from this bodily connection that music becomes so decisive in many dance works. Jorge Grela from Argentina, is the musician who scored part of the dance work “Manada” by Julieta Rodríguez Grumberg, which premiered virtually in 2021 in Buenos Aires. The sound result is compiled in the 4 track EP “SCRUM”, composed completely for corporal movement, with ambient rhythms that will delight us, making us participants in a flock, in a very profound auditory experience that proceeds from evolution to resistance, with musical arrangements of voices, guitars, bass, drums and synthesizers, passing through instrumental music to electronic music, which will undoubtedly make us feel the dance in our ears.

Oberlin – Dymaxion Variations

Oberlin – Dymaxion Variations
[mhrk304]

Oberlin

“Dymaxion Variations”

“Imagine yourself having the chance to take a ride in Richard Buckminster-Fuller´s fully developed Dymaxion-car and float ergonomically and ecologically through every imaginable landscape. What music would you like to hear in it? This was the question i asked myself one day and these 4 tracks are the answer to it. I thought I´d like something floating, developing very slowly and droning very softly as I am gliding slowly though any given landscape. So this EP is dedicated to Buckminster-Fuller and I hope you like the drift.”

Released April 19, 2022 as free (cc) digital download and limited edition cassette tape.

The album was recorded by Alexander Holtz with a eurorack-synthesizer and an electric guitar in his homestudio in Koblenz, Germany during the winter of early 2021.
