about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Love Through Cannibalism – Serial Experiments Tangela 2

TWG014

Love Through Cannibalism

“Serial Experiments Tangela 2”

Following the similarly titled release of 2010, TWG are very proud to be presenting the second ‘Serial Experiments…’ album by Spain’s best glitch, Love Through Cannibalism.

Musically, the release traverses more ground than possibly any TWG before it: chipbreak dripped in dissonance, serene and glitched out melodic passages, mind-bending sample work, downtempo lurching, pure unaccommodating noise, to name but a few. Walking the tightrope between pure genius and unlistenable garbage, Love Through Cannibalism has made a name for himself by being unrestrictive, distinct and with incredible talent, and here, on ‘Serial Experiments Tangela 2’, we find him reaching his apex, further forwarding TWG’s propagandic push towards experimental chiptune. A release that needs to be listened to rather than glanced at to be appreciated, take some time out, draw the curtains and become infused in the pure esotericism of it all. Or he’s trolling us all. You never know with LxTxC…

Anne-F Jacques

“Some Asperities”

Anne-F Jacques lives in Montréal, Canada. She is interested in amplification, erratic sound reproduction devices and construction of various contraptions and idiosyncratic systems. She often performs, alone and in various collectives (including Minibloc and Fünf), creates sound installations and makes soundtracks for Julie Doucet’s animated films. The use of low technology, trivial objects and rough sounds is particularly appreciated. Anne-F is also involved with Crustacés Tapes, a postal sound distribution project.

some asperities has been recorded during a mini-residency at Sonoscopia, Porto, in november 2013, using piezo pickups, rotating surfaces and various soft resonators.

Nick R 61 – Castaneda. The Teachings Of Don Juan

P36-084

Nick R 61

“Castaneda. The Teachings Of Don Juan”

“Before you embark on any path ask the question: Does this path have a heart? If the answer is no, you will know it, and then you must choose another path. The trouble is nobody asks the question; and when a man finally realizes that he has taken a path without a heart, the path is ready to kill him. At that point very few men can stop to deliberate, and leave the path. A path without a heart is never enjoyable. You have to work hard even to take it. On the other hand, a path with heart is easy; it does not make you work at liking it.”

Klaus Marten – September

Klaus Marten

“September”

This is a mini-LP of mine from a couple years ago called September. As I listen now, what strikes me about this song is the dreamy, woozy quality of the shoegaze-esque songs present on this collection. In my opinion, the ubiquitous nature of these textures (broken up by a couple of harder-edged tracks so not to cross the line into monotony) makes for a consistent and singular listening experience, from which many ideas and themes can be inferred.

FLAUB – Easy Trip to Outer Space

EdP065

FLAUB

“Easy Trip to Outer Space”

As an act to capture the undefinable, as deep as consciousness could trespass.
Like a concrete proof of another life form, hidden behind the veil.
Away from everyday perception, as far as sound quest could transgress.
Kicking around your psyche as a risky journey not suitable for satisfied minds.
An abstruse voyage to a distant place but still somewhere in this universe, plenty of synthetic excitements.

Fernando Laub (aka flaub) is a composer and visual artist native from Buenos
Aires Argentina and Austrian origin who designs and builds his own musical
instruments. With the aim of compiling sonic substance and creating new devices
from old industrial machines and recycled scrap, he spent several years living
into an abandoned factory reconditioned as a sound laboratory. Among those
indoor quests he use to travel around the world documenting sonic and visual
material from jungles to urban situations. This way his music not only describes
pictures, it will transport you to a sort of surreal scenarios, images that are
quite difficult to define.

Klaus Marten – Satiety

Klaus Marten

“Satiety”

This album of mine, Satiety, I think is really good for two reasons: 1, each track to me is really great at capturing and even painting a certain mood. Each track is its own world. And yet, it is also incredibly cohesive considering that, as the whole thing seems to combine to form a singular statement, whatever that may be. The largely abstract and open nature of my instrumentals allows the listener to draw his or her own conclusions.

Alexei Borisov and Anton Mobin – Q

Alexei Borisov and Anton Mobin

“Q”

Alexei Borisov and Anton Mobin met in Paris in 2009 with their duets (Astma & Crash Duo) and have been working together since that first concert, published on H.A.K. Lo-Fi Record. At each passage of Alexei in Paris, collaborations start again and take different forms: common organization of concert, live sessions broadcasted on Radio Libertaire or on the webradio KKWNE, also the trio project with Olga Nosova, as evidenced the album “Manifeste des 22” recorded live in Trashvortex and published by the Italian label Lonktaar.

In March 2013, Alexei Borisov and Anton Mobin decided to join their forces and ideas in studio and record “Try To Crawl Out Of It” , their first opus operated in duo published in early 2014 on the Polish label Mathka.

“Q” released by Zeromoon is the first live performance played in duo between Alexei Borisov and Anton Mobin. Other studio collaborations are underway as a promising recording session with Julie Rousse, Olivier Di Placido, Aka_Bondage, Ayato and Michel Kristof recorded in Paris last summer 2013.

Performed at “Q#2014” on 11th February, 2014 at Instants Chavirés, Montreuil (France).

Klaus Marten – Take Me With You

Klaus Marten

“Take Me With You”

Klaus Marten was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and lives in Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York, where he spends his days working, hanging out with friends, buying records, and making music on his laptop. The varied influences of My Bloody Valentine, Smashing Pumpkins, Brian Wilson, Animal Collective, The Ventures, The Beatles, Sonic Youth, Deerhunter, and Japancakes (among others) provide a basis for his guitar-based music, which combines shoegaze, rock, surf, country, general experimentation, and other muddled-together genres into broad-ranging tracks as simple as solo guitar works and as complex as lush dream-pop soundscapes…and everything in between.

About Reier:

Ulyanovsk, Russia

He was born in Ulyanovsk, Russia. Music was his student years.
In music, I was most interested in the nature of sound, its specifics.
Music – is something abstract, it is difficult perceptible, mysterious.
I’d rather sound artist than a musician or composer.
I get great pleasure from the sound of photos that appear and disappear suddenly.

Klaus Marten – Master Tape

Klaus Marten

“Master Tape”

Hi, my name is Klaus Marten, I am based in Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY, and I would love it if you could check out my latest release, Master Tape, which is available here: https://klausmarten.bandcamp.com/album/master-tape. My music I guess could be described as generally experimental, shoegaze-leaning, but mostly guitar-based and often laden in reverb. I think my music is something different: it is oftentimes abstract, in a way that gets your attention, but also in a way that allows you to apply your own meaning to it. I have heard some really interesting interpretations of my stuff in other reviews, and would be fascinated to have your take on it as well. I would hugely appreciate it if you could take the time to listen, and I hope to hear from you soon!

Thanks,
Klaus
