about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Cherubim – The Joyful Shrieks of the Cherubim!

Cherubim

“The Joyful Shrieks of the Cherubim!”

Cherubim makes noises, drones, pulses and melodies with guitars, trombones, trinkets and computers, sampling and swirling it all into an unearthly sound. After a few years of playing together in the 12,000 Trees collective, guitarist Yuko Pepe and laptop/trombonist Brett Sroka splintered off as a duo, with a strange, yet overlapping aesthetic.

Yuko Pepe is an experimental/noise/improvisational musician based in Brooklyn, NY, born in Tokyo. She started playing the guitar in 2001 at university in Tokyo, where she also received her nick name, Pepe. Currently, Yuko plays with 12000 Trees, Cherubim, Helioscope and has performed solo in NYC, Berlin and Tokyo.

Brett Sroka is a trombonist, computer musician and composer for film, dance, installations and his own ensembles. He has performed at BAMcafe, the Sonic Circuits Festival, the Guggenheim Museum and the Teatro Fondamenta Nueve in Venice, Italy. His minimal, electro-acoustic jazz trio Ergo released it’s third recording, “If Not Inertia”, on Cuneiform Records in 2012.

Matt Rogalsky – Eliane

Matt Rogalsky

“Eliane”

This music did not really begin as an hommage to Eliane Radigue, but I did come to think of it in relation to her work with slowly changing timbres, which I love, and I ended up calling it by her name. My recordings are drone textures made up of many oscillators continuously detuned according to changing ambient light levels. A single photocell placed outside brings into play the movement of isolated clouds passing across a clear blue sky. Eliane was created using the SuperCollider programming language with homemade sensor hardware, and recorded in real time to analog tape.

Cellar Dweller – Monochrome Rainbow

PLANET045

Cellar Dweller

“Monochrome Rainbow”

Monochrome Rainbow is Cellar Dweller’s first full length album. Marrying interests in drone and noise with the darker side of melodic techno hinted at in his Origami EP, it ranges from improvisational process pieces to tracks suitable for a cold warehouse dance floor. Drawing as much influence from poetry and pattern art as it does from musical reference points ranging from Messiaen to Basic Channel, it presents a rewarding if disconcerting listening experience.

Kinko Acid – Galactic Cirrus

wave015

Kinko Acid

“Galactic Cirrus”

There was a strange Sound. Caught by Earthlings. Many Years ago. It seems to be a extraterrestrial Signal. Man tried to reproduce this luminous Waveforms to get in touch with the Source. But it never responded. Instead the Earthlings found out that these Waves had the power to connect themselves. They started to Produce more and more of these Sounds. The deeper they immersed, the greater was the effect. After decades of research and development, the man were then able to communicate entirely through Music. A Universal Language spoken and understood by everyone. A Language that not only describes us and our Environment, but also creates a totally new Reality the Moment it is spoken. No Questions – Just Answers.

Telegraphy – Interpretations

Telegraphy

“Interpretations”

album: “Interpretations”
artist:Telegraphy
media format: MP3 (320 kbps)

track listing:

01: Misinterpretations………………………………………..11:21 min
02: Interpretations……………………………………………..7:11 min
03: Space………………………………………………………10:09 min
04: Space Squared …………………………………………..5:12 min
05: Space Quaded ……………………………………………8:19 min
06: Space Cubed ……………………………………………..8:40 min

To interpret is all in the eyes of the beholder. Different world views and opinions varies widely from individuals. All of us has our own unique sense of reality that we somehow like to share with the rest. Weather it’s good or bad, you and I compute the external environment to our own liking.

Keeping this in mind, “Interpretations” an album of collected dubed sound-scapes by Ionosonde’s resident artist Telegraphy, pushes the listener into outer space where a sterile environment is present to be used as a medium for sound interpretation. If it isn’t warm and bright for one person, it’s cold and dark for another. It’s all how you interpret it.

So space-out with us !

Burning House – Burning House

DLR070

Burning House

“Burning House”

Artist: Burning House
Title: Burning House
Genre: Shoegaze
Country: UK
Format: MP3 [320 kbps; stereo; 44,1 kHz]

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Burning House have created a sepia-tinted sound that is both pastoral and psychedelic. The glacial arpeggios, the guttural feedback that owe’s much to the cinema of Andrei Tarkovsky, as it does to the likes of Red House Painters and My Bloody Valentine.
The music truly takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions which evolves a certain sadness, elation, but also black humor.
