about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Angelo Krizashi – The Remixes

ZIMMER103

Angelo Krizashi

“The Remixes”

A remix in art often takes multiple perspectives upon the same theme. An artist takes an original work of art and adds their own take on the piece creating something completely different while still leaving traces of the original work. It is essentially a reworked abstraction of the original work while still holding remnants of the original piece while still letting the true meanings of the original piece shine through. Famous examples include the Marilyn prints of Andy Warhol (modifies colors and styles of one image), and The Weeping Woman by Pablo Picasso, (merges various angles of perspective into one view). Some of Picasso’s other famous paintings also incorporate parts of his life, such as his love affairs, into his paintings. For example, his painting Les Trois Danseuses, or The Three Dancers, is about a love triangle.

MOC

“Tempo 100”

Today we present no Speedcore, no scavenger hunt and no marathon. Nothing, but the news. Right in your face.

Influenced by Rococo playfulness, scuffing easyness and celebrating snap mood the joyous men of the Munich-based duo MOC bring their second album.

Who is reminded when listening to Magentaas hit album ‘Pulse’ on Phonocake, is not so wrong. Because of acting as Magentaa the musician Wolfgang Schmetterer has picked up the computer scene Champ Anatol Locker and dragged to stage, at this time especially in her home city, where they rock the stores that allow such a smooth sound.

Together, they first capture the world with their electronica-pop-house-band and then of course the space behind it, right after the blue sky on the left.

L.Bridge

“An Abstract Tomorrow”

This classy little five track EP is secretly the follow up to Fature’s mini album “Syncopated Computer Addiction Vol.1” released back in 2009. Although the artist has changed his alias you will still find exactly what you loved about his previous work on this EP – Rich harmonics, complex arrangements and melodies all tied together with hints of jazz and of course beats and bass!

“AFA presents… Roncheras”

This album is the fruit of our love of art. This means you can listen to it, dance to it, play it, cut it up and share it without spending a single yen. Those who have participated range from stars of underground Ukrainian dance, to Spanish comic authors. A.F.A.’s only aim is to have fun and to share what we make with as many people as possible so they can have fun with us. Or they can hate us and want to strangle us with a spiky wire. As long as it’s with love, anything goes.

ANDREY KIREYEV – Berton’s report

NN_LP043_09_13

ANDREY KIREYEV

“Berton’s report”

This artwork is devoted significant date in the musical aesthetics of the 20th century, to the centenary of the manifesto Luigi Russolo “The Art of Noises”. Written in 1913 by an appeal to musicians contemporaries, encourages use them to further the development of music, innovative tools produce major noises that appeared in our life with the advent of machines and mechanisms. The original sound that I use in this work, does not sound in the final soundtrack. Working in the direction of the Russolo, extending the frequency range of scores up to the limits of modern audio playback devices, I picked it up tone beyond human hearing. The soundtrack I suggest you listen to, made of artifacts – mathematical errors encountered by computer based microwave modulation of sound, the nature of which today I find it difficult to explain. This situation seemed similar to the one which hit the protagonist of Andrey Tarkovsky’s, the pilot Berton, who tried in vain to explain what he saw in his report on the Solaris phenomenon, not recorded his movie cameras. I turned on the movie “Solaris” and had difficulty coping with an unusual sound, played for you a modern version of the soundtrack for the film of this episode. Since the work of Luigi Russolo and Andrei Tarkovsky harmoniously united in this effort, I can assume that these two great men – the descendants of the extraterrestrial people, worthy of respect.

Lluvia Acida – Insula in albis

[pn084]

Lluvia Acida

“Insula in albis”

One of our topics of interest as musicians has been the Antarctic – as a natural space, a territory of history, and as a search for understanding. This interest has materialized in various artistic works. The first was the album “Antártikos” (Eolo – INACH, 2005), which told the story of the white continent, through songs and instrumentals from the distant prehistoric past to the present. We were able to present it in 2007 in the gymnasium of “The Eduardo Frei” base on King George Island. But we could only be there for four hours, which was just long enough to play for the Chilean, Korean and Uruguayan staff who attended, and to familiarize ourselves a little with the facilities there.

In 2012 we collaborated with Instituto Antártico Chileno INACH in editing and musicalizing the documentary “El Continente de la Luz: Primeras Expediciones Chilena en la Antártica” (The continent of the light: first expeditions Chilean in the Antarctic), based on historical video footage restored by the Cineteca Nacional. We performed it live during two concerts in Santiago – one at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) and another at the International Book Fair of Santiago (FILSA). At that time, we were already harboring a dream to assemble our own expedition, one that would allow us to return to a place that we had not yet been able to explore in depth.

So we proposed a project to INACH, which was approved and which allowed us to travel at the end of March 2013. We stayed several days on King George Island, recording ambient sounds of radio telecommunications, structures, and other elements. And we were able to gather a large amount of material, as much video as audio, which helped us to compose and record an album and edit a movie.

“Insula in albis” reflects in music and images different aspects of the natural and human life of King George Island: stunning landscapes, native wildlife, men working and communicating through Radio, the effort of Chileans present there, the amazing infrastructure of the “Great wall” base (China), the mysticism of Mother Russia at the base “Bellinghausen,” and the warmth of the base “Artigas” (Uruguay). The theme underlying this work is the cooperation between men of distinct cultures, who represent their countries, but who also share an experience as members of the same human species in this territory – a great example for the rest of a world, divided by diverse conflicts. Thus, we have carried to the limit our concept of electronic music as a tool of not only sonic exploration, but also geographical. We invite you to share with us this journey, one that took us to the last frontier of the Earth, heading to an island that we can never forget…

Planet Boelex – Exist

336

Planet Boelex

“Exist”

Its taken a long time in coming, and we didn’t know if it was even going to happen, but the rumours were correct! This year is the year of comebacks, first with Boards of Canada and now we have Planet Boelex returning from the silence, with his first EP after his self enforced break.

Exist is the culmination of many sleepless nights ending with 6 tracks (43 minutes playing time) of pure Planet Boelex bliss! Of course, as its a Boelex release, we get a few surprise guests along for the ride, and Exist is no different. Bad Loop, Mosaik, Weldroid and Krister Linder are featured along with a sublime track ‘Stay’ by Lisas Antenna.

So, what do we get? Thumping deep basses and leads that soar into the stratosphere, delicate trademark arpeggios from our favourite artists, leading into bass bin rocking basslines, delicate and subtle pads and that progressive edge to get the adrenaline going. You can find all the classic elements that we’re familiar with from each artist in the tracks, but directed masterly by Boelex himself.

cover artwork: Photography “The Tumble” by Giles P Croft, processing by Matt Whyman

Tracks 1-3 & 5-6 Mastering by Christopher Leary at Melograf Mastering

Track 4 Words & vocals by Krister Linder

Track 4 Mastering by Christofer Stannow at Cosmos Mastering

Tracks of choice by this Boelex fan: The truly amazing ‘Stay’, Unreasonable Reasoning. Brilliant!
