about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Chapter I
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
I fall in.
I am lost … I am helpless.
It isn’t my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter II
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in the same place.
But, it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter III
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in … it’s a habit … but,
my eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

Chapter IV
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter V
I walk down another street. // Portia Nelson

Will Bangs – Stay Golden

[NS061]

Will Bangs

“Stay Golden”

In 2011, No-Source Netlabel kicked off a remix contest for Will Bang’s album Stay Gold. As you may remember, Stay Gold was created as a starting point for musical collaboration. Now that the initial contest is over, No-Source brings to you the remix EP “Stay Golden”. The EP contains five tracks, remixing four of the songs off Stay Gold. These five tracks come across less as remixes and more as a compilation of songs by different artists. Interestingly enough all five tracks share a similar indietronic bond with each other. Ilona from Switzerland adds kick drums, effects drenched vocals and a wave of synths. Harvey Kreepar takes his remix to post-progtronic territory with an immense build of layers. Ford Madox Ford, a mysterious project from the mind that brought you Full-Source, takes on three tracks with reverberated vocals and distorted, arpeggiating synths. Stay Golden is a great way to wrap up the 2012 release year for No-Source. Enjoy!

Off Land – Circadian

[tube262]

Off Land

“Circadian”

Genre: Ambient

This new four track EP is a based around the theme of cycles. Three of the tracks are brand new, including the nearly twenty minute title track. Cicadas (Originally titled Outer) is a track that came out of the session that produced the 2011 X:F System – Microvast rework album, Microcosm. This release keeps with the melodic Off Land style but it is decidedly more experimental and at times brooding. The result is an expression in repetition, time, rhythm, and flow… Off Land has works released at the ever excellent labels Resting Bell and Kikapu among other respectful labels of the internets.

Coaxil – Coaxil

[NN_LP034_12_12]

Coaxil

“Coaxil”

Coaxil is an audio-visual project successfully debuted in the spring of 2009 at the international festival of electronic music and visual arts “Electro-Mechanica” (St. Petersburg, Russia). All the perfomances are based on a principle of spontaneous improvisation: pulsation of drum machines, buzz of the synthesizers, improvised voice parts, dynamic video projections are often intertwined in the most intricate and unexpected ways.

Neuf Meuf – What’s Left in Chorus

[NN_LP033_12_12]

Neuf Meuf

“What’s Left in Chorus”

“Rok Vrbancic is a young fellow from Slovenia and member of a band “Automassage”. His music is very dense, rich of melody and hidden under a beautiful shell of cracklings and noises from time to time. His instruments are mostly analogue (guitar, drums, field-recordings, fragments of voice) but the way he develops his songs he is closer to electronic- or ambient-music.”

Jean Montag – Unquiet

[058]

Jean Montag

“Unquiet”

Considering that for Jean Montag a very tasty meal has to be croquettes (mainly) we are going to use them as a metaphor. We might say that this “Unquiet”, that he kindly delivered to our catalogue, is a very nicely baked couple of croquettes. Two croquettes full of different ingredients, mushed up, processed sounds and all sorts of scenarios and scenes were to get lost and found. On every bite we discover a new space a new environment. Before we loose the taste of the last bite we are already on the next, swallowing what Montag has prepared for us.

Finally this release, in it’s shape of a sonic “tapa”, is a very interesting work because it doesn’t lasts for too long (something I’m worried all the time with) but still, with this short time space he is able to surprise the listener at every step and present a complex work in terms of sound design and composition that lead me to desserts already missing what I have ate.

TRITON – open field 2#

[NN_LP031_11_12]

TRITON

“open field 2#”

Third album with ambient and the noise sounds, made with open source softs like audacity and Pure Dated, unpublished works of older productions. Polymorphic and complex, this often dark universe declines in two big movements. Aquatic TritoNn calms down comes the MutaNn fire power and apocalyptic seeings, according to albums. Mathieu Bec, ex punk drummer, having had the opportunity to share two festivals of innovative music, “Premiers baisers” in Vigan ( Gard) and FMIT to Teyran ( Hérault) in France felt finally ready to participate in projects of bigger scale as “Project Fukushima” big tribute to the victims of the nuclear disaster. “Meanwhile, in Fukushima …” is a sound collaborative project led in Fukushima. With the support and partnership of INA GRM (French national institute of audio visual – Research Music Group) and France Musique (French national public music radio), the journal Droits de Cité, creative radio webSYNradio, Radio Campus Bruxelles, Radio Sonic (festival City Sonic, Bruxelles) and multimedia laboratory APO33. Shortly after the disaster of Fukushima Daishi, a Japanese artist group has gathered around the figure of Otomo Yoshihide. A project is born early, Fukushima Project!, a call for creation that has led to a festival, located in Fukushima, and a series of events around the world (London, New York, Bangkok, Seoul, Singapore , Paris …). I was honored to work in conjunction with Otomo Yoshihide and John Zorn’s to one of these events at The Stone, New York. On August 15, 2011, WebSYNradio, Internet radio that I created and manage, has broadcast live from The Stone bringing a tray of world-renowned musicians. Following this festival, webSYNradio wished to remain available to the project Fukushima! and continue to «act» with a new project for 2012: «Meanwhile, in Fukushima …»

– Werk Op. 31

[NN_LP032_11_12]

:X.M.M.:

“Werk Op. 31”

This is the second release by :. X . M . M .: on Nostress Netlabel. The album is a one-piece composition. This time :. Mehtalahz .: takes you through a journey of acoustic and noisy, drone landscapes. Longlasting, and melodies on the edge, makes this as much a hypnotic album as it is beautified with strange melodies from other planes. The “deepsounding” trademark by :. X . M . M .: is notably recognized. With the noisy background pounding with feel of industry and darkness, it gives us a landscape of futuristic doom, saved by the acoustic side of :. Mehtalahz .: Still, the deepsounding rhythms is hectic, but effective and gives us a ecstatic feeling of everlasting ceremony dances. Lay back, close your eyes, yet another time for the journey through “Werk Op. 31” by :. X . M . M .: Nostress, only love for sounds, klang and sabda.

Marc de Blanchard – Serenade

[19]

Marc de Blanchard

“Serenade”

Paris, November 26, 2012 – Today, eclectic label Da! Heard it Records announces the launch of its 19th release, Serenade by Marc de Blanchard.

With this EP, hybrid musician Marc de Blanchard offers the listener a sound journey between field, computer, and chamber music. Serenade is a cinematic EP marked with magic and levity, yet nostal-gic and robotic at the same time. Music boxes and cracking sounds go face-to-face, finally creating an enchanting and catchy melody. Throughout the pieces, Sérénade reminds us of the mechanical and electronic carousels, the fun fair and its lights, the forest and its fauna. And Marc de Blanchard achieves his bet to thrust us into an all-new universe of monsters, electricity, and bird songs.

After Astroboiler, and Vengeance, this 19th release fits itself into a will for eclecticism. Da! Heard it Records astonishes, thus confirming its ambition for discovery and exploration, and promising beautiful surprises in the months to come.

Distributed under Creative Commons, the EP can be downloaded here for free : http://www.daheardit-records.net/en/discography/dhr-19#release
