about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

“Orbital Mechanics EP”

Warmth – Orbital Mechanics EP

The responsible of our 17th reference is Warmth. His passion for astronomy influences in an evident way in his way of making music, that’s how het wanted to introduce, in his debut in Rawmatroid, his narrative sound in a work with clear space and atmospheric landscapes: Orbital Mechanics, a concept truly defined and full of personal involvement in its composition.

“An Uncertain Journey” it’s a track, although it includes some bass drum hits in its final part, mainly ambiental. With its piano melody wrapped by other textures, it is inspired by the adventure of Apollo 13, with a crew facing technical problems and uncertainty that those extraordinary views might be the last, very subtly it introduces us in the journey.

The dense melancholy tone of “White Dwarf” continues Warmth’s deep line. Form and content go hand in hand, because the title of this track refers to the white dwarf, inevitable end of every star in its final stage it cools and turns off.

“The Space Between Us” returns to do justice to a good judgment when it comes to telling stories by the author, the distance between Earth and the Moon, and the effect it has on both its gravitational pull has inspired in the 3rd cut, which slowly gathering pace, without forgetting the melody and landscapes, the drums are now more present, escaping of predictable metrics.

“Phobos and Deimos” (Fear and Terror) are the names of the two satellites of Mars. The contrast between the pads and arpeggiated bass reminiscent of the tense relationship between the red planet and its moons, a curious mix of melodies and tones that become the 4th and final issue of Orbital Mechanics. Have a good trip.

Various Artists – NOSTRESS NETLABEL VOLUME 2 “The Astounding Fair”
For a second time Nostress Netlabel celebrates the anniversary with a compilation of previous unreleased tracks by artists from the netlabel and not only. There is not much to say except that we are really proud for the success. 2012 is been an extremely hard year for Nostress always busy with partnerships and collaborations in many musical and cultural events. We feel still lucky to promote talented artists and we are very pleased to help some artist still under development but deserved to realease on Nostress. This netlabel has new projects to promote and increase the promotion for artists. The first step is the organization of mega-events with more bands and artists to play in special performances editions simply and conceited :-) called “NN Live 00 …”. ideal opportunity in which the netlabel presents a special vinlyls or CDs new releases and not only. This new 2013 is an important year because it was born a new interesting activity, a Nostress branch small netlabel called batenim netlabel with an accurate catalog devoted to projects of ambient music without a precise schedule periodic publications. Projects of experimental ambient for musicians / non-musicians and estimators of generative music, random, algorithms, stochastic using most important programs in the network. batenim netlabel also prefers full sensory immersion music projects where the expressive power lies in the ability to create surreal atmospheres, dreamy and strong emotional implications, the rigorous and listening pleased that the result is a sort of separation of the mind from the body. Research and inspiration for the indefinite and infinite sound ‘extended and expanded’ lost in the vastness of the spaces to become intense and deep as soundscape or music is labeled as articulated by noise and environmental sounds (field recordings). The artists involved in their own way, must be capable of this.

Gea drifts around many recurrent structures by Lauki, the album explores – once again – the sonorities of string recordings captured and re-assembled building scenarios in which one can reconcile with ambient music and a comfortable listening experience. Finally, Gea is another turning point on the work by Lauki and we are happy to host it on our catalogue.

“This Flag Means be Still”

Cagey House – This Flag Means be Still

“These tracks are about stasis.

“Living Grass on I-70” started as a short percussion solo. I slowed it way down–something like 800%–until the sound became really degraded. Then I kept altering the pitch until the sonic degradations became the main voice in the track.

“The Finger Can’t See” is an experiment with out of phase repetition, boredom, and annoyance.

“Delicate Clock Runs the Street” is the result of a set of rules that force harmonic motion while simultaneously preventing resolution.”

“The Second Fawn” is an arrangement of a single sample (at different pitches and durations) of a Thor’s Hammer virtual synthesizer being turned off in mid-note.” – Cagey House

BRACHIAL PALSY – FANGTOOTH

Breaking a hole in the thick ice crust over the the Eastern Sea we submerge into an unknown winter world, an primeval world, underworld, diving through the dark, seeing bioluminescent creatures.

And while the ‘space night’ is seeking for new music, we dive into deeper unknown heterotopic spaces on planet earth: an ocean of music as well as our minds and dreams.

Artwork designer Sebastian euphorically says, the release by lipizian artist Brachial Palsy reminds him of influences like Biosphere, Delerium and Clock DVA. And so you can expect an unagitated music album with constant beautiful ambient.

Thank you Brachial Palsy for your trust to let Phonocake bring this release out, even if we again needed so long time for it.

Elegant dubtechno

Manuel Sabbion aka Terminal Sync was born in Padova in 1985. His passion for the electronic and techno music has already begun in the 1999 as he started listening some techno musicassetes of various old clubs in Padova. In 2005 he begins to collect some techno and electronic records and, a few years later, he buys his first turntables and discovers the deep and warm sound of the vinyl. In the first years he starts to learn by himself the art of the djing and in October of 2006 he became a member of a crew called Thursdaysdeep.
During these years of Thursdaysdeep he has maturated technique and experience and develops his own personal imprint for experimental sound. With deep passion for music he discovers other genres, as ambient and dub, and then he finds the way in which music can create such different situations, for instance the intimate atmosphere of an after hour. All this teaches him how to express sensations and emotions to the flow through music and it also makes him mature enough to start playing with the crew in some private parties and clubs in Padova.

BeatLove is an experimental electronic music duo of Seville. It’s formed by singer Myriam Fernández and producer Benjamin Jiménez. His style mixes downtempo, ambient rhythms and breaks.

“Oscillations” is an album composed of 6 tracks, we find a crunchier style than the previous works. In this EP, BeatLove use drum machine, atmospheric chords and melodies to develop an identity and a meaning of its own within a soundscape particular.
