This tango-tinged jazz chiptune (and contrafact of “A Child Is Born”) features videogame-sampled bass, drums, keys, guitar, strings, and lead.
Are birds always prepared? Some may be, but the Add Hawk most likely isn’t. Great speed equals much distance over little time – crossing such stretches so swiftly leaves little time for precautions.

Back in May of this year, we were first introduced to Nerdicus via the dope Cheese N Pot-C album which he produced, “Nerdicus Presents Cheese N Pot-C: The Adventure Begins – Gab to Kag – On The Move”. Well, today, we have his debut solo album for you to enjoy!
“Nerdicus Presents: Themes, Scenes and Soundscapes” is sort of a concept album consisting of thirteen songs made to use in the background of movies, shows or games. Nerdcore Dub versions from ‘The Secret of Monkey Island I & II’ adventure game soundtracks (1990/91), the forgotten Voodoo-Reggae classics from the floppy disc age.
The original game soundtracks by Michael Z. Land, in all their uncanny 16bit-Soundblaster FM-synth glory, were a massive influence for Jahtari (weird computer game reggae!) – but could those soothing and somewhat wimpy tracks be translated into a Heavyweight Dub context, something that might work on a sound system?
Well, here are our attempts from around 2005/06: Meanwhile Deep Below the Island. Sixteen haunting tracks optimized for drinking grog by Gamle Harlev Orchestra & Bo Marley, John Frum, Volfoniq and disrupt. Finished cuts, various dubs and plain demos, raised from the Undead, just for the torment of your ears!

“Third Time’s a Charm, Fourth Time is Routine” is Gigakoops’ fourth full-length album, with a lot more emphasis on mixing chiptune synths with brutal metal compositions. There is a fair amount of prog inspiration here as well, with plenty of genre mixing and complex song structure.
Songs such as “It’s Like a Knife When You Need 10,000 Spoons”, “Crustacean Creation”, “What the Flux” and “Stang” blend in metalcore and death metal stylings with chiptune leads and orchestral backing. Meanwhile tracks such as “(You Are) The Middle Piece”, “My Own Bountiful Sky”, “Escapism of the Fearless”, and “If I Were You…” build upon prog song structures, with more experimentation of styles and complex song structures, while still keeping in occasional metal influence (in some songs more than others). And finally, the full-album download also includes Nightmare Lyre’s remix of “The Taste of Nostalgia” from the previous album, with more metal instrumentation.

And I really wanna have this EP here with my other Atari stuff, because it includes some technics that I really enjoyed making. It means hours of work and fun, and until now it was like this project was trapped on an abandoned vessel, sailing to nowhere.

Pierre Guilhem il faisait des dessins mais aussi de la musique alors voilà son album de Dub qui date de 2005, il l’avait fait en CD et Claude Biscuit en avait un exemplaire qu’il a maintenant égaré. Mais Reno Leplat Torti nous en a retrouvé un que voici, la pochette scanée est à venir, car voici une detestable miniature qui a pourtant son charme. Un album réalisé avec un synthé (Casio, il nous semble) et qui a été composé à Nîmes. Il a d’abord été promu sur la page de Nunu Editions, autour de 2005. De la dub pour plage à savourer entre amis, avec un pastis, dans la mesure du possible.
