about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Chris Lynn & Daniel Barbiero – Augmented Landscapes

Chris Lynn & Daniel Barbiero

“Augmented Landscapes”

Augmented Landscapes is a collaborative work melding acoustic and electronic sound elements with field recordings.

The acoustic element is provided by double bass and prepared double bass, played along a continuum of conventional and extended techniques. The electronic element, which consists in the granular synthesis of acoustic double bass performances, broadens the instrument’s sound palette to encompass varied and unconventional colorations.

When these elements are matched to the overheard sounds captured by these field recordings, a perspective emerges that is analogous to a hypothetical landscape augmented by a multiplication of dimensions both sonic and spatial. Points of reference shift as aural features constantly rearrange themselves in relation to each other, creating a series of gestalts in which figure and field alternate, blend and separate in varying combinations. Here familiar sounds mutate into something unfamiliar before becoming familiar once again.

Daniel Barbiero: double bass, prepared double bass, and granular synthesizer

Gotesman Razin Mikryukov – Triple Connection

[SCL131]

Gotesman Razin Mikryukov

“Triple Connection”

ARKADY GOTESMAN:
Arkady Gotesman isn’t a standard artist: many consider him a jazzman and percussion virtuoso, but it is almost impossible to pinpoint what it is that he does. Yet Gotesman himself seems to be rather nonchalant about this; he clearly is a man of action and practice, able and willing to try the challenges that arise when working in different formats – not only the diverse world of music, but also theater and literature.
The main features of this artist – an extraordinary range of activity and the ability to instantly listen into his partners’ – whoever they are – music, speaking, writing or object making. This characteristic is crucial for a good jazz musician, whose reaction and intuition must never lose contact with the present moment, be able to foresee and creatively complement.
On jazz scene, Gotesman has collaborated with the following musicians:
•Percussionists- Changhito, Vladimir Tarasov, Freddy Shtuder, J.Baron ,Tim Daysi.
•Singers- Vladimiras Prudnikovas, Kantor- Joseph Malovani, Eska Mvuzgari (UK).
•Piano players- Viačeslavas Ganelinas, Julian Joseph, Anthony Coleman, Andrei Razin.
•Reeds-John Jorn, Charles Gayle, Petras Vyšniauskas, Ned Rothenberg, Abram Fefer, Albert Beger, Mikolaj Trazska, Waclav Zimpel.
•Cello player- Davidas Geringas.
•Double-bass players: Barry Gay, Dominik Duval, Jack Siron, Brade Jones, F. Pilinger, Vladimir Volkov, J.Cload Jones.
•Trumpet players: Dave Daglas, Frank London, Viačeslav Gaivoronsky, Kasper Tranberg, Byron Wallen, Arkadi Shilkloper, Rasul Siddik.
•Dancer Anastasija Lyra.
•many other artists from Lithuania and other countries.
•Composers – V.Ganelinas, A.Šenderovas, O.Balakauskas, Š .Nakas, G. Sodeika, Z.Bružaite, H. Raduleskas,V.Bartulis.
•Lithuanian chorus -„Polifonija“, “Jauna muzika“, “Brevis“.
•Percussion Ensemble “ Giunter Percussion.“
•Theaters – O. Koršunovo-theatre, National Drama Theater, “Meno Fortas“, Panevėžys Juozo Miltinio theatre.
•Festivals- “Kristupo” festival, ”Jauna Muzika”, “Iš arti”, Birštono jazz festival, Ukmergės theater festival, festival “Jazz Globus”(Israel) and others.

ANDREI RAZIN :
A graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, composer, pianist and arranger,
Andrei Razin was destined for the career of an academic musician,
but his creative interests have a much wider range.
He produced music scores for the theatrical performances, modern chamber instrumental
and vocal music,
jazz compositions, music for TV shows and advertisement videos.
Andrei Razin
performed with Arkady Shilkloper, Mike Ellis, Aleksei Kozlov, Vladimir Chekasin, Roswell Rudd, Klaus Kugel etc.
Andrei Razin was also awarded the “Composer of the year” (2002)
awards by Russian Jazz Journalists Association.
As a leader of Second Approach Trio (new-jazz, modern creative)
Andrei Razin performed in Germany, Finland, Norway, Lithuania, Israel, Austria, USA, etc.

ALEXEY MIKRYUKOV:

In 1999 together with the composer Alexander Kohanovski aka Pankifared he starts the studio project Superapes, recording 2 albums, making experiments with electronic and ambient music, as well as composing music for escalators, elevators and corridors. Since 2004 actively cooperates with Foa Hoka as sound producer, remixer and contributor of music. Since 2005 releases his output on the d.i.y. CD-R label SKP Records (Kiev). Since 2006 actively cooperates w/International movement Ukr.tele.kom – as remixer, co-author and remastering engineer.

Soni Sfardati – Sāqiya

[LBN025]

Soni Sfardati

“Sāqiya”

“Sāqiya gazes at history. Beautiful sounds, coming from the sea. Music scores written by amanuenses. Tarantellas intertwined in baroque embroideries, in a game of disguise, on allusive grooves. Bright and colorful wonders. Virtuous words drawn from an endless dictionary at the crossroads of cultures: Arab, French, and above all Spanish. Stories of encounters, exchanges, smiles, yet stories of oppression.”

40gradmusik – thermosphere

tonAtom.132

40gradmusik

“thermosphere”

drum’n’bass at tonAtom.

stylish and punchy. detailed and imaginative. fascinating pads combined with melodies and licks that stay with you all day.

space drum’n’bass is not just a name. again and again you can spot the sound memories of a past future, with the synth and organ-sounds that recall the golden times of b/w scifi movies and mono radio plays. and at the same time ” thermosphere ” hints at a future that – obviously anachronistic and counter-cyclical – seems promising and desirable. simultaneously aiming at both head and feet 40gradmusik take us with them on their monorail into a future world in which outer space is next door, 40 degrees (at least for the coming summer ) are not a bad perspective and the appropriate soundtrack are inevitably the twelve tracks of thermosphere . and depending on the mood it might get relaxing (“slow -motion replay”), motivating (“above the city”) or driving(“turbo pause”) .

so: put on your jet -pack and off to the “thermosphere” we go.

V/A – Anti-Chiptune Chiptune

TWG013

V/A

“Anti-Chiptune Chiptune”

At TWG, we’ve always pushed the odd, the weird, and the emotionally robust. In celebration of the more esoteric corners of the chiptune stratosphere we’ve compiled 19 tracks from some of chiptune’s most notable and talented purveyors of “what?” to showcase what can be done when the term chiptune is examined. From scene veterans as prolific as Alex Mauer and inpuj’s ilkae, to newer blood like Nappes and TWG staples like Guardia and Vegas Diamond. We’ve got the final every Fauxhound track, +Let’s Disinfect!+ covering Bit Shifter’s ‘Activation Theme’ in a folk punk style, an Alex Mauer track written in 1997 and live NES Rom manipulation from DJ NORTON ANTIVIRUS. Plus a whole ton more. Some is unexplainable, some is not chiptune and som is not music, but we hope you enjoy this eclectic selection of oddities. ~~~~Thank you for listening to the ACCSS’ message~~~~

Free Variety Theatre – Galactic Anatomy

HAZE259

Free Variety Theatre

“Galactic Anatomy”

Free Variety Theatre was founded in early 2013 by Alexander Cutteridge and Daniel Moschopoulos as a vehicle for online collaboration—initially non-realtime distance collaborations with likeminded artists on SoundCloud. We have already established working relationships through attentive offline collaboration with musicians and producers in North and South America, Australia and throughout Europe, and have recently extended our outlook into the realm of tele-musical internet performance.

In parallel to our collaborative efforts, we have, over the last year or so, been developing and refining more conventional modes of improvising (namely playing in the same space and time). “Galactic Anatomy” is FVT’s first collection of recordings featuring the two of us playing alone. We have cautiously defined the genre as “techneurotic jazz”. The main intrigue/challenge from the outset has been to convincingly integrate improvised performance on traditional acoustic instruments (piano, electric guitar, trumpet) with digital electronic devices (laptop, samplers, analogue modelling).

AutoReMi-PK – BRKN

TWG012

AutoReMi-PK

“BRKN”

What if Megaman soundtracks were written by Zan-Zan-Zawa-Veia? Seemingly hell-bent on finding out the answer to this, AutoReMi-PK’s TWG debut, ‘BRKN’, goes to great lengths to be a blinding mixture of experimental esotericism and melody-driven pop-esque hookery, and the evidence to his success is here in abundance.

>From the epic space swoons of ‘Subroutine Traffic Stop…’ to the manic energy and dissonant beauty of ‘Dys4-1A’, every inch of ‘BRKN’ is stylistically eclectic and robust, melodically affecting and compositionally complex. Where ‘BRKN’ excels best is its ability to mix those heart-rending melodies into vigorous and rewarding compositions. The melodies of ‘Rules and Regalia…’ call into mind the heydays of Bit Shifter, ‘Requiem (Our Stolen Future)’ ends with soft but emotively poignant sweeps of motifs, and ‘We Never Sleep/Artemidorus’ moves from crunchy experimentalism into a melody that defines the term ‘tearjerker’.

‘BRKN’ is an album as well as a journey. Every track slips into the next as a continuous piece and the effect is infectious. A consistent aural and emotive assault, every turn and shift as unforgettable as the preceding, every arp brimming with emotion and every passage a piece of compositional masterpiece that ticks the boxes of both rational talent and emotive creativity. Those who have already decided their albums of the year may have been slightly pre-emptive; on his debut, AutoReMi-PK has already solidified his place as an incredibly talented composers, and ‘BRKN’ as one of the scene’s best offerings in some time.
