about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Fourmi – L’Alunissage des fragilos

[D!HR-37]

Fourmi

“L’Alunissage des fragilos”

For its 37th release, Da ! Heard It Records sends your ears into orbit.

Why, who could these mysterious characters, the Fragilos, out to discover apparently unknown territories be? Take the time to follow their adventures through this UFO-reminiscent album that encapsulates a few instants of their stealthy existence in 13 pieces …

In the style of the illustrative discs of the seventies and eighties from which Philippe Brown draws inspiration, the titles of this cassette’s compositions are clues themselves designed to stimulate the listeners’ imaginations. Thus, by holding the sleeve drawn up by Man Oroa while listening, each will be able to make up his or her own little story and discover the naïve-sounding, yet far from obvious, melodies.

One will thus go from one moon to the next without ever fully landing, floating softly above the ground among the bossa, zouk, or oriental rhythms and cinematographic atmospheres imprinted as much with second degree as with light melancholy.

Attracted to a musical era he didn’t experience but of which he uses the codes with style, Philippe has the characters evolve well beyond the musical frontiers we sometimes burden ourselves with. With this fictional original sound track at the crossroads of genres and eras, he visibly goes very far away, so far that everything leads us to believe that this dreamer of a musician most certainly has his head in the moon!

L’Alunissage des fragilos, the 37th release of Da ! Heard It Records is distributes under a Creative Commons License Y-NC-ND. The album is available for free listening and downloading at the following address: http://www.daheardit-records.net/en/discography/dhr-37

Massimo Ruberti – Granchite Yumtruso PT 2

[NN_EP033_02_18]

Massimo Ruberti

“Granchite Yumtruso PT 2”

Nostress Netlabel is proud to release ” Granchite Yumtruso PT 2″, the new digital EP by Massimo Ruberti, an artist from Livorno (Italy) who usually define himself as a “Trafficker of sounds and images”. The album is the second part of the EP “Granchite Yumtruso PT. 1 “, released by Nostress Netlabel exclusively for Netlabel Day 2016 organized by the Chilean netlabel M.I.S.T. and which involves Netlabels from all over the world. EP “Granchite Yumtruso PT 2” closes a cycle of sounds that gradually stratify with exotic and colored atmospheres, with distant echoes that rest on long carpets with an antique flavor. The voice of Ada Doria in “Wilderness Falling” and “Cosmic egg traveling blues” seems to come out of an 1870 gramophone as it disperses vibrations in the Sahara desert. The sax of Fabio Leonardi paints well-defined shades of color. Notable orchestral arrangements of Roberto Mangoni in “Cosmic egg traveling blues”. The songs were recorded at Dogana D’acqua Studio. The disc has been mixed and burned from Francesco Landucci to Poderino Recording Studio.

Warahraan – Living in a Far Dream

[su017]

Warahraan

“Living in a Far Dream”

Warahraan is an Ambient/Electronic/Experimental music project from Persia founded in the early 2008, inspired by the immensity and grandeur of the nature and cosmos. The music is trying to illustrate the creation through a different view. Warahraan is a journey through magical sovereignties and enigmatic kingdoms, a deep mystical discovery through terrestrial and extraterrestrial zones.

Warahraan means victory and conquest in the ancient Persian language. The other older forms of this word are Verethraghan and Verethragna. Warahraan is the Persian god of Fire, the most sacred of all fires that is a combination of 16 fires as it mentioned in the Avesta (Sacred Book of Zoroastrians) and other ancient Persian sacred texts. The word referring to the Mars (fourth planet from the sun) in astrology. The twentieth day of month is dedicated to him according to the Zoroastrian calendar.

Go Ask Alice – Perfection is terrible

[040]

Go Ask Alice

“Perfection is terrible”

This self-produced EP is the first work by Go Ask Alice: eight instrumental tracks, composed between 2012 and 2013, recorded and mixed by Matteo Spinazzé, in collaboration with Curzio Ferri playing drums and Andrea Oggiano with his acoustic guitar.
Perfection is terrible is the first verse of Sylvia Plath’s poem “The Munich Mannequins”.
“Perfection” here is completeness, closure, inability to evolve and reborn, perfection is death.
Perfection is indeed terrible, can’t have a child, just as Plath’s Munich Mannequins, cold marble statues, beautiful and perfect, frozen with us in a never ending present, the immense futureless present of the “capitalist realism”: the end of history.

Ivan Black – Aural Sketchings

[brhnet49]

Ivan Black

“Aural Sketchings”

Twenty-three works of ambient doodling’s, short soundscapes, or possible soundtracks. The idea behind the project was to allow artists, film directors or animators to use them with their work. If I get mentioned in the project for providing the music. Allowing the works to work with or inspire other works. It would be great to build on this idea so groups of artists are working together on small projects all over the world, sharing ideas and concepts together.

STREPITVSITVS – Valore Neutro

[brhnet48]

STREPITVSITVS

“Valore Neutro”

STREPITVSITVS is the new realisation of musical duo ASOLANMAC PROJECT and meant to be a sort of inner self-reflections as well as a very personal study about environmental connections between people and places: the focus is set on the Montello hill, near the Piave river, pretty close to our hometown. It’s a really peculiar site, where nature, hystory, legends and mysteries are all mixed up together in a unique way. This piece of music fully represent the feelings we share about it and express also the will to define the whole thing like the primal step of an introspective journey through memories and sensations, inspired by that magical location, under the form of an audio description.
