about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Wings of an Angel – Our Forgotten Infinity And The Absolute Zero

[Self Release ]

Wings of an Angel

“Our Forgotten Infinity And The Absolute Zero”

Where does this life lead, is a question oft heard and explored by spiritually-inclined individuals, religious groups, old and new age cults, occult organizations and so forth. But, nobody, in the whole course of humanity’s conscious existence on this earth, has been able to bring forth a single-handed evidence. I have lived a substantial amount of years on this earth, to proclaim wholeheartedly that I have gotten tired of it all – that is listening to yet another “i-know-it-all” who will try convince me of his group’s eternal truths. If it was only a personal struggle – I’d call it quits since I am very stubborn and rigidly unconscionable, I quickly and effectively send these people and their groups straight to hell. But, what about the children, innocent children of pure heart and spirit, who are brainwashed into this whole nonsense from day one of their existence?
Every day I see and hear this happening, children brought up into the dark ways of archaic belief systems which encourage NOT freethinking and high-spirited exploration of the world around – but inject the seeds of their hardcore fundamentalist doctrines unto the soft minds of the newly born.
I feel as if with every technological advance, with every generational leap, we move backwards because on one hand there is a lot of progress, but the human psyche cannot adequately handle it all, and thus, people go backwards in masses, lock themselves up in their old ways and rigorous traditions. We are giving up on the potential of our conscious infinity, to the point where it has become forgotten to most people.
Also, on the other hand, there are tons and masses of people who irresponsibly explore the vast potential of the mind by using various psycho-altering substances, from ayahuasca to magic mushrooms. This sounds romantic, but there are 3 critical problems with this, I will try to address these here, and hope that perhaps i’ll shed light on this important topic for the benefit of those whom it may be of help:
a. most chemical substances found out there on the streets are not synthesized at some clinical lab by authorized and qualified scientists, they have no leaflets and may contain the devil knows what… There’s no inspection on these pills and they come as atypical on the black market, often not even stored correctly.
b. all psychedelic drugs are highly powerful substances because they fundamentally (and sometimes even irreversibly) alter the way our brain functions, thus they are very unexpected and are not tailor-made. even those of us who claim to know themselves very well – can never know what exactly to expect. anybody who says differently – is either a fool or a dangerously disillusioned individual.
If it’s so-called “NATURAL” – doesn’t mean we are to use it. The word Natural is not some kind of approval from “MOTHER/FATHER NATURE” to go wild like there’s no tomorrow. There are numerous ways to nurture and nourish one’s mind and spirit via less potentially hazardous methods.
c. last but perhaps for many it should be the first – is the question: why experiment with these substances in the first place? For what purpose? What do you miss in this conscious life that you choose to either escape or put yourself in potential danger?
I know you may say that life is generally dangerous and unexpected and even crossing a street or driving a car is a fatal hazard. This is a typical new-age answer. But it doesn’t address the fundamental question of why consciously put yourself and your psyche, which we know little about and usually have little control of, at a concrete and indubitable danger?
Also, adventurous men (and even more so) women many times tend to fall into the hands of charismatic and highly intelligent psychopaths who promote the use of these substances in order to “connect to their higher self”. These are lies made to quiet and turn off critical thinking… I would recommend watching such films as Hideous Kinky (1998) & Icaros (2014) to get an idea of what i’m referring to. Just please beware and guard yourself and your open-mindedness by turning down such temptations and settling on listening to people who are perhaps less colorful outwardly, but have a sense of mental and intellectual balance and stability, as well as bona fide humility and life experience borne from the deep roots of understanding how fragile this precious life and world are.
I don’t want to sound like an old ranting geezer, so I better stop for now and leave you pondering to the sounds of this new album.

Wings of an Angel – Birthday

[Self Release ]

Wings of an Angel

“Birthday”

FOREVER DRONE

A drone that seems to go on forever,
echoing through the void,
never modulating in it’s pitch,
never seeming to change in it’s pace.

Where did this droning sound come from,
this seemingly eternal sound that echoes through the void?
I cannot seem to avoid it’s monotone melody,
as it makes it’s way into my mind.

I cannot comprehend where it came from,
this musicality of never undulating pitch,
but alas,
there is something hypnotic about it,
and I find that now my reaches out for it,
this tone of hypnotic monotony,
a sound that I formerly pushed out of my reach.

Wings of an Angel – Cult Of Personality

[Self Release ]

Wings of an Angel

“Cult Of Personality”

“Cult of Personality by Wings of an Angel is a one-piece ambient/drone album of almost one hour playtime. The track is quenched with majestic, almost monumental sound cascades, taking the listener higher and higher into realms of pure sonic light and glory. Sounds too elevated? Not at all! The whole piece allows you to forget your ego and your daily struggle without plagiarizing the shallow meditation CDs from the home shopping channel.
(darage-bang.com/wings-of-an-angel-cult-of-personality/ambient_drone_experimental_chillout_music_reports/)
———————–
“What a lovely hour of music this is! This is at the pretty, inspirational, light ambient end of things, which I love just as much as dark ambient. In fact, the towering, misty, angelic synths of this piece recall the classic days of early ambient, artists like Iasos as well as Steve Roach’s nineties soundscapes like Darkest Before Dawn and Slow Heat, and also the current work of artists like Phillip Wilkerson. That is very high praise, believe me. I enjoy this to bits and will be investigating this artist’s work further”.

Wings of an Angel – Rest In Peace (A Soundtrack For Irreversible Relaxation)

Self-Release

Wings of an Angel

“Rest In Peace (A Soundtrack For Irreversible Relaxation)”

Being the hyperly compassionate bloke that I am, I am hereby proud to present my April Fool’s offering: The Ultimate Relaxation CD – “Rest In Peace”! That’s right boys and girls! From now on, You will never need another relaxation CD for your zoning-out/tripping-out exercises :)
This particular LP was borne from the ether by yours truly as an exercise in alternative reality deconstruction. It seems to me that in today’s rather watered-down social environment, everybody’s striving towards some inner peace and balanced harmony, which at certain doses is of course a fine goal, but an exceeded dosage of this state of mind leads in my experience to mental stagnation. We evolve as we struggle, at least that’s what I’ve learned from my life’s journey.
Being an intense person from birth, I’ve known very little of this infamous “relaxed” state of mind, which at times can be a tad overwhelming from foreign eyes’ foresight, but for me it is a wonderfully vivid blessing. I quite dislike simplicity as a rule of thumb, and relaxation in my eyes is mostly a one-dimensional experience. And not experiential however I turn it around. It lacks the experimental edge that sleep has, for instance. Thus, I never experience sleep as a relaxation-driven existential mode. It is ‘something else’, literally. The more people talk about how we, as species, supposedly understand what sleep is – the more I laugh out loud. Nobody understands the profoundly unfathomed meta-realities of what sleep is and what it is not. It is in my perception deeper and much more fathomless than any artificially induced (so-called without a justification in my eyes) psychedelic state of mind (or rather – The Psychedelically Clichéd).
Meditation too, in my wildest opinion, aside from being a pretty useful therapeutic tool for certain individuals and groups, is not the aid I’d happily suggest for the ever-curious artist and keen explorer of the world. The whole idea, in my perception, is to OPEN UP perception and expand the senses (while being in control of the experience in the purely non-psychedelic sense) – not to minimize these to minimum and freeze like a perplexed virgin lama who had dreamed an erotic dream of a Himalayan mermaid while struggling with high maintenance Samadhi.
I certainly do wish that this semi-improvised high-voltage voyage to the ultimately irreversible relaxation realm will be an unforgettable one for each and every one of you – individually and in the most mentally and emotionally intimate way possible.
On we move to an individual infinite space of multidimensional unconscious relaxation!

“Malignant Cove”

Malignant Cove is adcBicycle’s 3rd album. All tracks are about a rocky ocean cove in Nova Scotia, Canada. The album was constructed to be catchy, dark, background music. The music engages the listener with gritty analog sounds, loosely played instruments and driving beats, yet at the same time sits peacefully in the background with distant vocals, slow building drama and a consistent dark pop mood.

Wings of an Angel – Surreal Reductionism

Self-Release

Wings of an Angel

“Surreal Reductionism”

I had then walked and walked forward on, with abrupt and unhesitating steps, leaving behind and beneath me a landscape of emotional chaos and languishing turmoil… I was alone again; an indisputable shadow piercing through the dense light. The clouds had no sign of giving up, force-feeding me with rain and occasional doses of excessive oxidation. I hardly breathed; at times I almost forgot my own name and place of origin… I moved through the darkening terrain, stepping to and fro unrecognizable crowds of human-like robots dressed in traditional attire, constantly reincarnating monsters and transparent biblical creatures. I passed a lovelorn tomb and an empty forest without a birthmark. I kept on walking even though by then I didn’t know whether i’m dead or alive… I took some photographs but had nowhere to develop them. So I ate them to keep me safe from starvation. I saw a crippled young girl offering poisonous candies to funnily dressed women, and strangely beautiful very old men offering their bygone youth to unborn babies. I could hear the distant noises of war but also the comforting buzz of nature’s cutting edge freedom. I walked forward like a zombie with closed eyes, led not by my eyesight but by my rusty inner compass… Where to? I wish I’d known. Or… Do I, actually? Perhaps it’s better not to know anything…
We know not where our separate paths lead us, none of us know anything, as a matter of fact. We play an occasional role here and there; yet everything we are is a theatrical mirage; each one of us being a minor player in this surreal shadow theater. You may believe in whatever you want or whoever you want; it doesn’t matter to me. You may lead your life according to society’s compass or the fathomed rules of your psyche… You may be and/or choose to be a clown or a god… I will still pass through you as if you were a random ghostly projection of my perpetually dreaming consciousness…

This is the original music form the short documentary film “Prelado”.

The inhabitants of Prelado, a fishers’ village on the southern seashore region of São Paulo, tell their stories while preparing to the Folia de Reis’s ball. Each story, be it real or fantastic, can be true: huge apes that live in the forest, ghosts in the graveyard or a ball of fire that appears on the sky each seven years.

Wings of an Angel & Tziona Achishena – The Dialogues Of Longing

Self-Release

Wings of an Angel & Tziona Achishena

“The Dialogues Of Longing”

Creating music in collaboration with Wings of An Angel was like singing in front of a magic mirror that reflected to me only my beauty and mystery, leaving me surrounded with angel choirs and newly opened caves and pathways inside of my heart. And so many questions. I wondered: Is this really happening? And every song sparked more and more songs and poems, that are pouring out of me like clear clean waters from the belly of the earth, and from the center point of my soul. Perhaps we can know the holiness of others, to the extent that connecting with them, through an act of kindness, a prayer, or a song, brings back to us lost parts of our souls, awakening our hearts with love, and an awareness of our own preciousness. A holy man, or woman, in recognizing us, gives us back what is actually ours, inspiring us to sing our own songs, which then heal us. I have experienced a great awakening, an embracing love of all creation, and, in a way, have fallen in love with the reflection in the magic mirror. But rather than being entranced by a vision of self, I see within me the whole world. Because that mirror reflects a deep place inside of me. You could call it my soul, or even, where my soul meets all souls…and so I expand and contain within me ever increasing space, inner space in which to travel to hidden, private lands beyond the sight of the human eye””

Lluvia Acida – Zonas de Silencio

pn096

Lluvia Acida

“Zonas de Silencio”

“With Lluvia Ácida, we have been making music together for 20 years, always from the Chilean Patagonia. In the beginning, in a context absolutely dominated by Rock and folklore, we made music inspired by the bands that we liked, all European and born of urban and industrial environments. Over time we understood that we had our own environment to inspire us, one in which technology is implemented in wild and lonely places, creating a contrast that is increasingly scarce in our country and the world.

We consider ourselves Explorers, because many of our works exhibited the results of an adventure or an investigation. So it was with albums like, “Tierra de Espectros” (2002), “Antartikos” (2005), “La Idea – Canto a la Federación Obrera de Magallanes” (2007), “Kuluana” (2009) and “Insula in albis” (2013).

“Zonas de Silencio” (Zones of Silence)” is the result of one of these adventures. This consisted of moving the act of Composing and Recording an album and a film outside the comfort of the studio, carrying portable technology to remote locations and abandoned premises of our environment, specifically in the communes of Punta Arenas and San Gregorio. In successive outings between the months of January and May 2014, we managed to record improvisations in places as dissimilar and evocative as a volcanic crater, a steamer rusting on the banks of the Strait, an abandoned lighthouse, a small and little known ranch, the structure of an old fridge, a coal mine, a beautiful cinema closed for more than a decade and a closed hospital. It was our way of merging ourselves with the landscapes that we love, in the shadow of the remains that were left at the edge of the Road of the Magellanes Story.

With “Zonas de Silencio”, we feel that we have contributed another vision of our Frontier Society, one which doesn’t glorify anyone in particular. We are only Ourselves and our Machines, forming a closed circuit but sensitive to the vibrations emitted by the solitary places.”

Wings of an Angel – Excluded From The Ark

Self-Release

Wings of an Angel

“Excluded From The Ark”

This is a musical narrative about one peculiarly untamed outsider who remains unseen throughout his life, even though he himself strives to see all and everything, and thus excluded from the ark of humanity. This is also a story of human corruption, greed and uncontrolled urges – as seen and experienced firsthand by one John Doe who knows not how to fit into this boiling soup of basic human impulses. This is a top-notch moral and psychological dilemma: whether to be part of the human herd or not? Whether to go with the flow into the ark or to stay outside of it, paying the oft heavy price of ostracism? Not an easy choice… Certainly not.
Within the deep caves of our hearts, lies the horrible CONFORMIST ATTACHMENT ARTERY; attachment to who we think/feel we are, to our intrinsic nature as we and others perceive it, and to other objects (real and/or imaginary). This stops the blood flow of our untamed and wild essence. Thus, we become like lost sheep in the pasture, trying to compensate for this catastrophic gap our whole lives, by seeking void-like attachments – to supernatural forces such as Gods and their supposedly holier-than-thou “saints” who can temporary calm down our maniacal craving for breaking apart and self-destruction, to people who might make us feel less-lost-less-lonely-and-less-ostracized, to symbols and rituals which “allow and promote” artificial order in chaos, where there is none whatsoever etc’.
Such is the ark of humanity. And there’s a certain magic realism to this existential game of emotional shadows. But it also has a price, a heavy price at that, and you know what that price is… ‘Tis demanding fee… Is… Y.O.U… That is, giving up on YOUR very raw essence, in the pursuit of a comfortable place in the ark. Which means and suggests a constant battle for survival and infinite make-believe psychodramatic performances.
A moment of wishful thinking, on the other hand… Wouldn’t it be better to be excluded from this ramshackle ark, even if it means living a ghostly existence on the subterranean margins of the human microcosm?
Ponder these dilemmas whilst listening to this odyssey and I promise you this: THE DEFINITE ANSWER WILL MATERIALIZE IN FRONT OF YOUR HALF-CLOSED EYES…

Wings of an Angel – The Unearthly Demagogue And His Amber Of Sorrows

Self-Release

Wings of an Angel

“The Unearthly Demagogue And His Amber Of Sorrows”

When you remain alone for a long period of time, confined between four or more walls, but still confined nonetheless, an inner dialogue takes place inside you, thus the Unearthly Demagogue is born. Like in Fernando Pessoa’s psychobiography, many a personalities of varying stages of development, take over your psyche and engage in an everlasting psychoactive dialogue. As rich as this dialogue is and can be, you are nonetheless still locked between the prison walls of your own psychological limitations. This prison, in due time, becomes your safe haven; your very own Amber Of Sorrows, the very place you always escape to when the outside world threatens of annihilate your sense of self-identity.
This is however a Golden Cage. This world based upon interpersonal relationships, and for the most part, our spiritual/cultural development and progress take shape as a result of an interactive interaction with the world around us and its multitude of inhabitants, that is our fellow human beings. Consciousness is not an isolated solipsistic substance – it always expresses itself in a larger social framework and context. Therefore, as safe as your Amber of Sorrows might be, in order to keep moving and exploring new terrains, you must break free!
Slowly but surely, unleash the Unearthly Demagogue, with all the pain and longing it entails, to engage freely in the world, actively contribute and be contributed back, to love others platonically and romantically and be loved for who you are, a fragile multi-layered and vulnerable, all too vulnerable, human being.

Wings of an Angel – Your Dominatrix Had A Brain Transplant Under My Knives

Self-Release

Wings of an Angel

“Your Dominatrix Had A Brain Transplant Under My Knives”

Humor is an essential and reoccurring leitmotif in my life. Without the ability to laugh out loud about the absurdity of human behavior and of nature’s macabre mirages, life could easily become a heavy burden. In my eyes, humorless people are like zombies. How can one go about without noticing the fantastically grotesque moments that surround us all?
This album explores the theme of quintessential black humor in a rather light mood. It addresses the fact that for many, life is an experimental BDSM film without a script. This is an improvisational soundtrack that in my perception complements such a vision.
>From all the arts (cinema, music, literature, poetry, painting etc’) to politics, education, work and every other aspect of civilian life – people take everything so darn seriously, as if their lives depend on it…
Most people are absolutely sure that this little world resolves around them, therefore, unable to see the larger perspective; ala that we’re here so very temporally, and instead of conducting ourselves within the limited perspectives and safety cages that society pushes us into – we have to go out of our minds, to think profoundly and sincerely outside the box and to feel without the primordial fear of being labeled as weirdos and stigmatized!

Kai Engel

“Rain Catcher”

Kai’s work is often based on stories, but the sixth album of a russian composer is a whole story itself. Rewind the clock to ‘Irsen’s Tale’ time and listen to neoclassical piano compositions once again, only much more mature and polished. While in a lot of ways it’s a Kai Engel you’re used to, ‘Rain Catcher’ will talk about something new, about a boy, out there in a night sky with stars, rain and finally dawn. It’s all in piano sound.

Wings of an Angel – The Magic Realism Of The End Of Art

Self-Release

Wings of an Angel

“The Magic Realism Of The End Of Art”

I have a love-hate relationship with art in general. Because very often artists lack self-humor and too often suffer from a Napoleonic Complex. They look upon themselves from such heights and perceive their work to be of unmatched grandiosity. Look and reflect on your favorite artists and/or bands – how much they seek the approval and passionate love from their audiences, to the point it becomes hilariously odious. Groupies and more groupies, men and women alike, and collectors who worship their guru artists as if they were living gods… Today, at the front door of the new year, I feel so detached from all this glamour.
My point of reference is: in this time and age, we have to expand the limits of what art is and how we as individuals and as a culture perceive a certain work of art.
This LP is titled accordingly, and symbolizes a vision according to which art has an end or rather art might end at some point. Metaphorically, I feel as if artists are not as important a persona as they are often perceived and/or vision themselves to be. Unfortunately, unlike human touch, art cannot comfort one on his or her deathbed. Art is a remarkable transitional object, but it’s no substitute for so many things and experiences. Artistic creations become obsolete, they weary off with time, lose their initial relevance, become inanimate, inorganic and abiotic. This is why, although some would call me an artist (a title I don’t seek nor need in my age) – I look upon art in general and my creative adventures in particular with a lightweight tone…
