Marco Manzella (electric guitar, born in Palermo) and Antonella Scalia (classical violin, born in Valderice) are a electric and classical musical duo formed in January 2012. After several live performances around Palermo they decided to record an EP with 7 tracks in October 2012, recorded and mixed by Simone Alvich, in their study-test room located in Palermo. Most of the harmonic and melodic structure of their compositions is designed and composed by Marco and after Antonella enhances the music with new melodic solution just to create an emotional and sublime atmosphere. Marco and Antonella are two artists with different experiences and musical genres but they are able to create solutions just to be in a homogeneous universe. The new EP “Oltre…” is a work of electroacoustic avanguard with folk shades which contains a nice post-rock/ambient atmosphere and it’s also has a strong influence of the contemporary-classical genre…and the word of music for cinema’s soundtracks!! Alternating heavenly and ethereal melodies and dark and tormented sonatas, the duo find a precise dimension distinguishing itself and earning the appreciation of the audience and professionists. Sounds of profound intimacy where it’s so easy to feel their instinct of talking, by notes, about themselves, what they see, what they think.

Bass in the face. We interviewed the expert tenor Lousiano Paverotti about the new brand new record by Cooked Audio released by the indie net-label Sostanze Records.
D – “Sir, what do you think about this dude who seems to come from the Berliner eletronic music scene?”
A – “Well, let’s say that we can surely recognize a deep attitude in his style towards the Berliner approach. In the track U2 there’s a path which mixes bass and synth lines whose tunes start from the 90’s and reaches the current times”.
D – “So, can we say that the boy is ready for the best clubs in Europe?”
A – “Indeed! For the production of “Bass in the face” there’s a lot of his bitter style, typical of whom is not risk adverse”.
D – “And what about the choice to give his music as a gift in free download to listeners, in contrast to your traditional way of selling music?”
A – “We’re talkin’ about the future. People selling music belong to the past. Sostanze Records, as well as other net-labels that make this kind of gifts, aims to a cultural and social concept of consumption of art which everyone should follow nowadays”.
D – “Maestro, thank you very much indeed!”

román ramón consists of agnès pe, po poy and lucía c. pino, who have backgrounds in both the plastic and sonic art worlds and who collaborate over long-distances and in person whenever the opportunity arises. their primary instrument is a computer that they use to manipulate recordings of them creating other sounds as well as field recordings. they then modify the recordings with simple programming.

nombradía pt.1: en desuso is approximately fifteen minutes of structured sample manipulations and raw electronics. a sort of travelogue. noise over background of real life. electronics blip by. pleasant strum guitar. throat singing carnival. tap. reed stream glitch. mescalin mix growl beats. organ stab reverb. sampladelics. heaven vocals.

“yomi, l’oscura terra dei morti”

?alos is musician/experimental performer stefania pedretti’s solo project that began in 2003. her performances blur the lines between performance art, experimental music, improvisation, video art and force the audience to actively participate. the feminine figure and its role in history and contemporary society is at the heart of her performances.

?alos’ third album for pan y rosas acts as a bridge between what ?alos was and what it is becoming. the first two songs are new versions of old songs; re-played and resung in a way that is closer to ?alos’ live sound. her voice is more aggressive and the guitar more abrasive. the third song, panas, will appear again on ?alos’ next album, era, but it appears here remixed by kawabata makoto of acid mother temple who transferred ?alos’ original recording to an analogue tape and then added layers of his own guitar, tambura, and sitar to it.

yomi, l’oscura terra dei morti was originally released by bar la muerte records in 2010. this is the third of three ?alos reissues.
