about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Leisure-B & Julian Winter – Brothers

Leisure-B & Julian Winter – Brothers

Leisure-B & Julian Winter

“Brothers”

As society gets more fragmented, the people it contains unavoidably get clustered into isolated pockets of opinions. This causes some of us to lose our empathy and makes us increasingly insusceptible to alternative points of view. Mutual understanding is key to gaining traction as a species, so Leisure-B and Julian Winter decided it was about time to compose another ode to this fundamental principle. Even though some of us sometimes appear to stem from other planets, we are, and will always be, all brothers.

Julian Winter – Slow Movement

Julian Winter

“Slow Movement”

Julian’s slow and cinematic debut EP eases the senses while taking you back to a time when things were easier and the world was a cozy and loving place.

The EP contains a lot of laid back tunes with minimal drumming, accompanied by a wide range of enviromental foley sounds, which even further give the impression of travelling through the memories of things that once were.

Alltogether a great EP for either listening or for use under video productions.

Julian Winter – Home

Julian Winter – Home

Julian Winter

“Home”

Julian Winter’s latest 5 track EP “Home” is a combination of autobiographical tracks, describing his short journey through Europe in the fall of 2018. Each city is portrayed by a flavor of its ambient sounds combined with Julian’s musical interpretation of the untangleable combination of a city’s impression and his own mind state at the given time.

Each track manages to translate a strong emotional impression, ranging from nostalgic up to a dramatic sense of being overcome by one’s own existence. This wild diversity of feelings enables “Home” to grab your attention, and pull you into the composer’s brain in order to get a clear view from his perspective, to take you along on his journey.

On a musical level, the depiction is realized by laid back guitar melodies and piano parts, which are accompanied by Julians trademark rhythmic variations using real percussion instruments. His use of post production and editing manages to give “Home” an extremely organic and up to date feel, thus making it qualify as a worthy successor to all of his previous work.

All tracks written, performed and produced by Julian Winter, except for “Paris”, which was written by a female member of Anonymous.

Mixed by Gerrit Elbrink.

REfugEEs From Beyond

“NIHILLBIENT”

The Necrophile Humingbird Netlabel present NIHILLBIENT by REfugEEs From Beyond.

“Post Illbient Music for Dark Ambient Lovers”

Improvisation session recorded the 29th january 2023 at the Cave Haven in Foucherans.
Members :
Master of Ceremony : Psyché Pelik
Disc Jockey : Yoshiwaku Mushotoku

Tracks titles are loosely based on the films of David Lynch & Gaspar Noé.

I can imagine what a lazy Artificial Intelligence or a crazy netlabel runner would say to explain how this album really brought the language of dreams or nightmares to the ears like if these both directors did it :

Every listener is going to get a different thing. That’s the thing about music. Illbient is like a car, a vehicle that allows you to go within. It’s a mental technique. You don’t need a special place to meditate. You can transcend anywhere in the world. The unified field is here, and there, and everywhere. We will not develop the transcendental way the nihilist spirit can upleavel oneself to certain zen spirit. Of course it won’t make disappear the civilians bodies massacred by bombs, but sometime like these days the world is so dark that you need this kind of dark meditation to heal your soul… The current from beyond dictate everything, you have to be true to that or you’re dead.

Life is a short game. If you want to be bisexual, pansexual, do it. Every single life is about construction and destruction. We are happy persons. When happy persons make dark music, it becomes funny. The truth is that… if you put any idea out there that’s kind of flashy, you have many, many people that are going to be copying it. This happens whether you do movies, paintings or music. Death is not evil. Death can be good news. It all depends. Some people come to this world and live in hell so birth is not always positive. Death can sometimes be positive.

Dedicated to those forced to commit unassisted suicides.

Culture Horn & Sammy Gold

“Jah Creator”

Culture Horn Sound System return with a brand-new EP entitled Jah Creator. For this release, the heavyweight sound system from the town of Kremenki in the Kaluga region in Russia, teams up with the mighty Sammy Gold to deliver a fresh vibe!

Sammy Gold has been in the scene since the late 70s, when he started as a toaster and later in the 80s as a singer. Getting his influence from artists like Dennis Brown, Jacob Miller and Rod Taylor, he worked with many producers like Rus Muffet, Ras Kuntus and High Elements releasing music on Roots Injection, Cubiculo Records and many other labels.

Jah Creator is offered for free download from Bandcamp. As it usual in most of the releases of Culture Horn, the first composition is in a dubplate style (based on classic roots tune Higher Field Marshall by Peter Broggs). The second composition is the main track. Each track includes the obligatory dub version. The compositions were recorded back in 2016 and since then they have been played on various dances and streamed in radio broadcasts.

The EP is dedicated to Jah and his deeds. Peace and love to all.

Jayson Hernandez – Flayte Neo Sur

Jayson Hernandez

“Flayte Neo Sur”

“Flayte Neo Sur” summarizes the methodologies of 10 years of sound composition for performing arts by the composer Jayson Hernández (1992). The main inspiration for this work is the collaboration with five electroacoustic composers: Valentina Aguilera, Ariel Fernández, Matias Alarcón, Antonia Valladares and José Miguel Candela, who, in a featuring capacity, contribute to the composition of the album.

The album comprises 5 pieces, each of which is infused with elements inspired by Granja Sur, multifocality, and the re-signification of a territory that emerged post-dictatorship in Chile, located in the southern outskirts of the capital. Each piece is associated with an aphorism proposed by the composer. The invitation was to improvise in an electroacoustic key and then compose based on this experience, induced through a somatic practice that allowed a connection with the archives and repertoires of the geography.

Inspired by observation and recording, the album seeks to challenge the concept of the periphery from a political perspective. Its primary influences are local artists from the southern area of the capital, such as muralist Oficio Erico and the UFO Group, poet Juan Carreño and the Vlop Cinema Collective. The album also reflects on aesthetic experiences in peripheral territories, particularly in Granja Sur and its surroundings, where the composer gathers local testimonies and symbols as elements that shape the soundscapes of the compositions.

“Reckoning (Creation)”

released November 2, 2023

sevensy (aka Austin Brooks) creates music that directly facilitates imaginal sojourns, wherein the message is the sound itself. sevensy mixes electronic and natural sounds with processed guitars and acoustic instruments and has released his music with Mahorka from the time of the label’s inception.

His musical themes ‘unfold into an unusual landscape’ so that it is often impossible to tell where one ends and another begins.

“Form emerges, as fragile as a snowdrop’s blossom, as solid as a mountain, then recedes and is transformed. Awareness witnesses the interplay of all things. “Reckoning (creation)” aims to musically depict this metamorphosis. Acoustic or treated electric guitar forms the basis of every piece, though this may not be evident upon first listening. Layers of synthesisers and bass are interwoven with fragments of melodies that coalesce and dissolve.”

Jazzaria – Un Known

Jazzaria – Un Known

Jazzaria

“Un Known”

Pass through to an unknown domain, and witness an intangible procession of intelligence – and the lack thereof. A known unknown, contrasted with its contrapositive, yields a self-similar absence of informative variation. Yet such leaps are still insightful, logically winnowing and ultimately implying an uncertain something about the state of things.

Featuring unaccompanied improvised clarinet with reverb.

“A SEED IN TIME”

The Necrophile Hummingbirds Netlabel presents A SEED IN TIME by Spore Designers.

Composition : HOMO | Recomposition : OresteS

“Timeless Psychoactive Music for Ambient Music Lovers”

In early August 2023, I was having a hard time navigating the Threshold Of Boredom (cf. Sleazy Peter Christopherson). Most of my contacts were on holidays and I was feeling lonelier than ever.
Having too much (?) time on my hands and having just been acquainted with Bull Of Heaven (check them!), I decided to tackle my pathological impatience and gardening disability by creating a sound piece lasting as long as possible (within my possibilities); it ended up as SEED IN PROGRESS, 20 hours long.
I invested, digested and regurgitated a good deal of my released and unreleased music into it, acquiring a small crumb of patience by every sound effect taking, literally, 40 hours to complete, during which I had to go on with the “rest of my life” and wait.
When I made SEED IN PROGRESS available, Orestes kindly offered to rework it into something else, with numerological wisdom, condensing the original 20 hours into 3 hours, 33 minutes, 33 seconds.
Here we are. Here it is. Here we is.

(The original 20-hours SEED IN PROGRESS is freely available from musicforunion@gmail.com. It is very different from this, with much more silence and much less activity, for which i am so grateful to Orestes. All Hail The Necrophile Hummingbirds In Our Souls.)

So these words by HOMO tell all about it, I just answered to the amazing sound piece HOMO did (be sure to check it!), I could add that the essence of creation is that chat through time and space between dreamers, like a being split in so many parts trying to understand what happens. But is it really necessary not to keep silent this, when You can dream of the future ?
