about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

“Algorhythmic Bias 3.0”

With all the amazing music that gets released on other labels that I include in my mixes, I always feel like I’m neglecting the amazing music that is released on Digital Distortions.

So, this is the third of a new mix series that, in conjunction with the BRAWLcast podcast, will feature exclusively tracks released on Digital Distortions. The mixes will feature on the BRAWLcast but will also appear here on Bandcamp with the unmixed tracks and the mix available in lossless formats.

This mix is a recording of a back to back session from Bushby and Mallory aka Horror Brawl.

Palancar – Music For Stargazing Volume Two

Palancar – Music For Stargazing Volume Two

Palancar

“Music For Stargazing Volume Two”

One of my primary worries about the modern world is the erosion of dark skies. Stargazing has been a fundamental part of the human spirit since the dawn of humanity. But there is a clear future ahead of us where we are denied this part of our souls. I don’t know what that means for all of us, but I suspect it isn’t good.

To promote stargazing as a foundational human activity, I am releasing a series of albums to serve as a sound track for stargazing. I call this series “Music For Stargazing” and this the next album in this collection.

I hope you find the music as helpful in your stargazing activities as I do.

Jazzaria – Clever Amoeba

Jazzaria

“Clever Amoeba”

The movement of an amoeba may seem mere randomness – Brownian motion through an indifferent space. We believe our own machinations to be much cleverer, an improvement over the past. Are we in fact so sophisticated? Consider your own perturbations, while listening to this deliberation of a clever amoeba.

Featuring a jazz trio of piano, drum kit, and upright bass.

88756 – TOOLKIT III

88756

“TOOLKIT III”

Stripped back techno tooling meets groovy 90s influences , the 88756 project returns with the third edition of TOOLKIT. Rebelling once again, these outputs are torn between what was instructed, and what was explicated.

Innate Interpolation stays true to the name; it is in essence, a human litmus test. Since we tend to project own sense of humanity when faced with ambiguity, we each have different interpretations of the vocal sample at the centre of this piece. On the other hand, In My Mind is a clear dance-floor weapon, laden with wonky percussion and a healthy dosing of raw samples. Both pieces are provided with two versions: a functional, DJ friendly edit and a groovy take on current contemporary trends.

Closing out the release is Live From 95, a symphony of hardware style sampling and a fast paced rolling groove. We note that earlier outputs of this track were sonically anomalous, and have been pulled back to mortal levels.

As always, these mechanical outputs are free to download from Bandcamp. Your support keeps us safe, and additional commentary is always appreciated.

TabiiTaabii – Small Steps (Insectorama144)

It is sometimes
as if all threads were cut off…
like everything around you
far and empty
a dead space
and you yourself a strange dream…
…as if the sun would never come again,
as if a song never sounded through,
like everything is slowly coming to an end…
and suddenly it flickers through the clouds
and suddenly a sound hits the ear

Such a timeless and dirty, beautiful analog lofi dubtechno sound that Adria Duch presents to us with its new 5 tracks is definitely not from this world. So we embark with him on this journey of his very own definition of never-ending chords and echoes that completely cancel space and time and you have the feeling of having found long-lost sounds on an old dusty transistor radio.

Pagalve

“Universe”

Usually a lover of a harder techno sound, Pagalve probably suprised himself after he made this special release for Knobs netlabel. Why “Universe”? Well, when your speakers will start to play this beauty, you’ll understand that is all about. Really deep tech stuff! Containing tracks built of TB-909 drums, beautiful stabs, lightly distorted basslines, clicks & cuts, various string structures together with stomping beats are doing a great job to make a feeling like you are somewhere in the universe…

tim susa – 1982

tim susa – 1982
[144]

tim susa

“1982”

Tim Susa’s sound on his recent album is as personal as its title, which marks the year of Tim Susa’s birth. His debut album 1982 seem to be no less than a monument, dedicated to his very personal journey through techno history. It is unmistakable that Tim’s heart beats especially for the heyday of dark shuffled techno throughout the 90s. Produced on a mix of analog and digital devices, the tracks revel in the sound of dancefloor legends like Dave Clarke, whose Red series seems to reminisce more than once on the album, Luke Slater or Gez Varley. The latter’s minimalist proto-anthem „Quo Vadis“ seems to resonate again and again, too. Like Tim, the tracks seem to feel most at home on dark, foggy and strobe lighted dancefloors. Moments of deepness keep popping up though, as tracks like “A Feather” show, that reach already out into the current millennium. In a similar vein, the wonderfully industrial-tinged electro beats of „Leaf Blower“ spread a lot of industrial dancefloor confusion without having to resort to a straight bass drum. In between retrofuturism, history lessons and techno old school, 1982 always manages to simultaneously look ahead and make you want to go back in time.

Joko13 – Salami Tactics
[COM10]

Joko13

“Salami Tactics”

Joko13’s latest release takes you on a musical journey from 2004 back to 2001. Starting off with the brand new mech-warrior anthem ‘Salami Tactics’, the Austrian artist once again defines his trademark sound of dark stomping minimal where the specific sound aesthetic is based on the use of digital artifacts and tight repetitive beat structures supply the necessary framework. ‘Morphine’, a track created in 2002, refers to the same principle and the outcome is a uplifting tech-house tune with a casual swing. Going back another year, ‘Part Level Boredom’ with its extensive use of spoken word, delay effects and noise represents the somewhat more experimental side of Joko13’s musical work. Enjoy another fine Comatronic release!
