about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

This license lets others remix, tweak, and build upon your work non-commercially, as long as they credit you and license their new creations under the identical terms.

“Corsario Subversivo”

Where discrete sound sequences are amalgamated, where layers of rhythms are juxtaposed, these tracks propose a sonic space of moving textures. Using samples and patterns subjected to accelerated repetitions that provide variations of great spectral richness (rhythm becomes colour), music clearly takes off from a background inhabited by the syncopations of established genres such as hip-hop or techno, to immerse itself in a world rich in structures and textures that go further, while supporting procedures in other known forms such as glitch and noise.

Pueblo Nuevo offer us this powerful opening release for this uncertain 2021, an invitation to a sound journey in times of physical seclusion.

Lieutenant Caramel VersuS PARRHESIA Sound System – RETROGRADE

Lieutenant Caramel VersuS PARRHESIA Sound System – RETROGRADE
[LCNLP121]

Lieutenant Caramel VersuS PARRHESIA Sound System

“RETROGRADE”

The necrophile hummingbird netlabel presents a dive into the memory. From the aftermaths of the past to the traumas origins.

Luigi Russolo works were an inspiration source, that’s why instead of the raw maximal Futurism, Retrograde sounds more like a kind of minimal nostalgia with a singular psychoactive research.
More about him in french
https://felipecaramelos.blogspot.com/2014/09/luigi-russolo-en-dehors-du-fascisme.html

Lieutenant Caramel told me he has travel to Syria in 1998 before the war and how what happens with the war hurt him. I told him I have travel to Jugoslavia in 1990 and that I could understand that feeling. This is the start point of this album.

Dedicated the Syrian people and all the people devastated by the ravages of war.

Retrograde is based on the sounds recorded by Lieutenant Caramel during his 1998 travel in Syria including the mesmerizing sound of the famous Norias of Hama.

Brainscan – Contact Mixtape

Brainscan – Contact Mixtape
[pnmxt005]

Brainscan

“Contact Mixtape”

A journey from the interior of the earth to the most remote corners of the universe, searching in this experimental and mental sound space gives us an idea of what could be out there, we explore in this musical platform and find it, some contact with these creations; how far could the imagination go? Possibilities hard to visualize but that have traces going through complex evolutions, entering unknown sonorous territories. With the strength and resistance of Pueblo Nuevo, these winds have allowed us to explore more complex musical possibilities, opening up new places. The contact and search for intelligent life in other worlds has few wings of being, but here is an air of hope with sound languages based on machines that assimilate transmissions or voids in space.

Atarashii Natsukashi – Machine Funk

Atarashii Natsukashi – Machine Funk

Atarashii Natsukashi

“Machine Funk”

Atarashii Natsukashi is intended as some sort of “musical diary”. All music is inspired by daily events and also various random thoughts & memories. As a result, the musical style of Atarashii Natsukashi might change according to its sole member’s current mood and the daily events that surround him. The first A.N release, “Machine Funk EP”, is heavily influenced by 90s Acid House and Techno. “Machine Funk” is the first release from the first period of A.N. During this period, tracks were being made at an industrious pace.

The Hathaway Family Plot – The Next Room

The Hathaway Family Plot – The Next Room

The Hathaway Family Plot

“The Next Room”

In the fall of 2020 my regular gig playing piano for ballet classes was forced by COVID to go virtual. I still commuted to campus and broadcast my playing from an empty studio. The building was being renovated, so a small group of construction workers walked the student-less hallways. Between classes, I began to experiment with recording my playing from a small portable recorder placed in the hallway outside the studio–partly to capture the strange whistle that one particular corridor often produces. The result is a hiss-heavy album wherein construction workers are heard walking by, an instructor’s voice is faintly heard far away, and the piano also sounds like a distant thing.*

The resulting recordings resonated with me emotionally in a way that felt appropriate for the year. It’s been hard to see and recognize beauty. Truth is relentlessly attacked, obfuscated, and denied. It feels like we’re stuck in a room outside the room where something beautiful may be happening. We know or believe that it exists, but we can’t see it or touch it. We’re being kept out of that space.

Headphones are recommended.

*(There is also one song recorded at home from the hallway outside my office–the recorder set next to a dog who is resting in his bed, nervously smacking his lips. Is it a strange kind of ASMR? Is this whole album? It may be to me.)

we stand in unequivocal solidarity with black americans begging for their FULL liberation.

violence happens against humans, animals, the earth. not property. looting & vandalism ARE non-violent protest. burn down the symbology of oppression—this is a powerful gesture. don’t compare it to the loss of life by using the word “violent.”

AARD – The Night over Arundel Gate

AARD – The Night over Arundel Gate
[pn175B]

AARD

“The Night over Arundel Gate”

AARD had an intense existence for three years, performing several electronic improv sessions, all recorded at the University of Sheffield Studios, also known as The Sound House, they also had several live presentations at various opportunities and spaces in the city of Sheffield.

These tracks correspond to rehearsal sessions for a concert given at the Foodhall, located in the city centre and which performs a great social work as community kitchen and public dining room. The title refers to a nearby avenue where the duo traveled numerous times in search of a concert or a few beers. This is a surrealistic dark journey into the night flying over an imaginary version of that avenue…
