Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

“Stand Alone Complex”

The album “Stand Alone Complex” arises from a reflection on the cyborg and the ideas embodied in the anime film “Ghost in the Shell” by Masamune Shirow, which seeks to reference post-club music from the futuristic dystopia that is currently pursuing us, while dealing with the dilemma of the soul and what or who owns that ghost. The Zeitgeist (this is originally a German expression that means the “spirit” (Geist) of “time” (Zeit) and refers to the current intellectual and cultural climate) generates some shock and reflection on what the body is and the nature of the other.

“Stand Alone Complex” contains music that goes from drone-like structures (“A Structural Point”), through more IDM tracks (“Riding the Noise”) to techno (“Der Inner Geist”, a direct translation of the inner ghost), to more industrial and post rave expressions (“The Harshness Factor” and “TGVBKJGFC”), until the last track (“Surveillance”), which speaks about the issue of surveillance though sounds that are more electronic and less structured by genre labels.

This disc originated with an approximately 20-minute recorded session made in 2014 (https://vimeo.com/105399073) and this subsequently laid the groundwork for a new interpretation of the books of Donna J. Haraway (Simians, Cyborgs and Women: The Reinvention of Nature, 1991) and Kim Toffoletti (Cyborgs and Barbie Dolls: Feminism, Popular Culture and the Posthuman Body, 2007).

It was mixed in FBK studios in Barcelona by Jose Jünemann and Joan Lavandeira and mastered by Jose Jünemann (2019).

Rog

“Reborn EP”

Rog has been off in releasing music, but has not stopped producing. Here comes his new EP. “This EP is quite personal. It took me a while to actually decide to put it out there, over the last years dance music has become quite generic and I took a long step back to reevaluate all the electronic music that has influenced and has impacted my life in certain period in my personal history so I wanted to put together the simple, the spiritual and the hard kind of trying to understand how the universe work in sounds. The concept of the album is bringing some trance and atmospheric elements to the dance floor a feel-good meditation trough sounds hypes, lows, and middle energy waves I wanted to bring some sort of innocence perhaps naiveness that I used to have in my early raves years and share that same feeling.”

“Mientras todo está Sucediendo”

ambient tributes

“Mientras todo está sucediendo” (“Meanwhile, Everything is Happening”)

We composed and created this album between April and September 2019, but we came up with the concept several years ago. The idea was to include ambiental pieces and associate them with well known songs, but only the titles. Even though it may seem otherwise, all the songs are ours. No covers at all. We just got inspired by the life and works of artists like John Lennon, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Pink Floyd or David Bowie. They left a mark not only musically, but as people, with their actions and thoughts, and we created and “dedicated” these soundscapes to them.

Cousin Silas Gaetano Fontanazza – I See Can You Hear

Cousin Silas Gaetano Fontanazza – I See Can You Hear

Cousin Silas Gaetano Fontanazza

“I See Can You Hear”

All the tracks of this “I See! Can You Hear?” release come out of the fruitful collaboration between Cousin Silas and Gaetano Fontanazza, two well-known artists here at Sucumusic.
Despite the highly ambient vocation of Silas and Fontanazza, this release aims to be a “not strictly ambient” album.
What we have here are tracks where the famous Silas’ soundscapes mix with the creative layering guitars, synth and rhythms of Gaetano Fontanazza for a perfect blend.
Music suitable for physical and mental tripping, relaxing and focusing.

Nurses With Knives & Pirtek – Cognitive Dissonance – The Remastered Edition

Nurses With Knives & Pirtek – Cognitive Dissonance – The Remastered Edition
[earS094]

Nurses With Knives & Pirtek

“Cognitive Dissonance – The Remastered Edition”

Originally released in 2014, Cognitive Dissonance (“the mental discomfort also known as psychological stress experienced by a person who holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values.”) is a calloborative work between noise musician Nurses With Knives and Extratone/Noisecore artist Pirtek from Derby, UK. The two originally met in 2009 from a former project between the two and had moved to further harder territory. their first input was “Structural Defects” release on 1000+ (much to NWK’s dismay at the time) in which Pirtek provided drum programming and NWK added sounds/samples/noises. Cognitive Dissonance is different in this aspect as NWK provided original material to be remixed and reworked by Pirtek, thus making them a more harsher, noiser output. The duo would later part after this release in 2014 and are still in touch over music and collaborative ideas to this day.

Oscar Santis – Tercer Vertice

Oscar Santis

“Tercer Vertice”

OVERVIEW:

The album “Tercer Vértice” (Third Vertex) is the closing of a trilogy started with “Desde la Caja” (From the Box)
which was released by Pueblo Nuevo in 2016. The second part “Tides of Continental Plate” was published in 2017 by the Canadian label Oral records under the management of Eric Mattson.

These three works are a gradual evolution from the preferential use of digital tools and the computer to a generation of sound dominated by analog elements, even though both of these worlds remain present. They were recorded in a relatively consecutive period of time, although during a period of change in sonic conception. They are three ways of looking at the same place with varying the point of views.

Baltazar – Abstrakthas

Baltazar – Abstrakthas
[pn146]

Baltazar

“Abstrakthas”

“‘Abstrakthas’ by the Cuban artist Baltazár, is a work that was published independently in 2009, and which now
sees the light of a label release for the first time.

A mix between the classical, the digital, music concréte, architecture, voices and endless possibilities, all of
them modulated by infinite reverberations that merge as the tracks develop, with sounds that oscillate in all
directions while delivering an overwhelming listening experience.

In its composition, the album ‘Abstrakthas’ uses the violin as a conductive thread that pulls the different
works of the publication together into a melancholic story that, in some way or another, incites a deep
reflection on the various sounds that are revealed as the work progresses, playing with the mood perception and
delivering a wide range of sensations.

Recorded mostly as independent stereo tracks, which are subsequently superimposed with the purpose of realizing
a maticulous and patient sonic construction, based on the sonic blocks resulting from these recordings,
‘Abstrakthas’ is also the first chapter of the larger work ‘bordermuzak’, which collects all the artist’s
works from 1999 to 2016. It should be noted, however, that ‘bordermuzak’ does not compile the works
chronologically but rather as chapters of a novel written over the years.”
