about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

“2-cig”

I’m a little high right now from the Oxynorm my oncologist prescribed me and I hope you get high on this short four track idm EP. It’s about cigarettes while I’m about morphine. But I was a heavy smoker until I stopped about a decade ago. This release reminds me of an Analogues Legacy EP I did with Aunderwex for Proc Rec, where our last track was called The Last 2 Cigarettes. It was named for the devastating fact that we only had two cigarettes left at that moment. Is there a similar story to this EP? Or a different one? Or none at all? I have no idea.
Holorime is a new project that started this year and this is the third release.

“Mestizo”

27 february 2007…12 years ago… My first album in Pueblo Nuevo Netlabel.

“‘Mestizo‘ is a mixture of electronics and ancient local sounds and voices. The idea is finding a language based in our historical sound memory, but firmly placed in the present day.

‘Mestizo‘ is a collaborative work, where the following musicians and researchers contributed the sounds and samples below: José Pérez de Arce (samples from “Son-Ido” album in tracks 1-3-4-5-6), Matorral (acoustic guitar samples in track 2; voice in track 5), Lluvia Acida (zampoñas and ocarinas samples in tracks 2-3-4), Michel Durot (samples from “Ying Yang” theme in track 4), Pablo Cornejo (assorted samples in tracks 2-3-4), Tatevari (ocarina jarra sample in track 3). Thanks for making this music come true.”

The perfect failure (?) – The perfect failure (?) vol. 6 : Imperfect failures

The perfect failure (?) – The perfect failure (?) vol. 6 : Imperfect failures
[Eg0_200]

The perfect failure (?)

“The perfect failure (?) vol. 6 : Imperfect failures”

Even bad things come to an end! This is the 6th and last volume of the perfect failure (?) / l’échec parfait (?). I must admit I failed to find any real or perfect failure among all the sounds submitted. Each of them inspired me for building interesting sound blocks, imagining new composition tactics, blurring the distinction between what I can find “good” or “bad” – although I won’t deny that many of these sounds were somehow headache-inducing when played on repeat while working on this 5 hours long mix. Will you love-hate all these “Imperfect failures” as much as I did while patiently gathering them during 7 years?
Many thanks to all the contributors who trusted me enough to send their secret / questionable material : 3/2, A.D. du nord, Ayato, Benoît Rouits, Charles premier, Cocotte Sapiens, David Pomlait, Doedelzak, Extrasystole, Gavin Prior, Half Evidence, Hellsings, Janne Nummela, Jules Valentin, The Kiriks, Luxalove, M.A.K.T. Sono, Mata-Hari, Natalia Kamia, Onde Poussière, Philippe Desclais, psph.S, Siu, tay_ploops, Torbill, Xavier Mussat, XtetX Ensemble, Yoshiwaku, 3HNT– and some anonymous people. I shamelessly contributed to this with some of the worst recordings of my solo projects Kecap Tuyul and Failure Circle.

Baradit – Revolucion Tecnologica

Baradit – Revolucion Tecnologica
[pn139]

Baradit

“Revolucion Tecnologica”

……………

“A common childhood memory of those who were born in the last century is to have read encyclopedias, with colorful illustrations that showed us what the future would be like. In those days, as we calculated with expectation how much time was left until the year 2000, technology appeared before us as the Holy Grail, as a promise of a better tomorrow. Time has passed and we became adults, with worries and debts, and with a large part of our lives influenced and managed by machines. Are we living in that future that we expected? Clearly not. As ordinary citizens we cannot travel to Outer Space. There are no cities on the Moon or orbiting the Earth. There are no robots doing housework in our homes. On the other hand, there were many other things that did not appear in these optimistic encyclopedias. And not all are good.

But Electronic Music, especially in its expressions linked to Techno, has the power to revive that feeling of amazement and wonder at the products of human ingenuity. This is precisely what defines the music of Felipe Baradit, a composer and producer from Valparaíso with a long career trajectory. A creator of great perseverance, who cultivates a sound true to his roots, without opportunism or posturing, Baradit weaves rhythms and melodies of synthetic atmosphere that suggest a mediated daily life, in a multicultural Latin America and continuously changing. “Revolución Tecnológica” (Technological Revolution) is a disc of stylized sound that evokes completely humanized landscapes, with forms of life designed to grow and develop around us. To listen to this work is to unite our imagination with that of its author and to open our senses to its peculiar energy. To capture its vibrations, which someone gifted with synesthesia might visualize with iridescent colors, is an experience that I personally recommend living.”

The Hathaway Family Plot

“A Flat Thing”

Hello. I stumbled across your blog and now want to throw my plug at you. I just released A Flat Thing, my ninth album as The Hathaway Family Plot. If you’ve never heard of me before (and you probably haven’t), my music could be described as avant-garde noise/pop from Buffalo, New York. I like the term “garage art.” It’s mostly piano and electronics and distorted kazoo. Some singing and some straight-up yelling. Trying my best to come up with something that sounds new and different and interesting.

All my albums are Creative Commons BY-NC-SA. I don’t imagine becoming wildly successful, so I just want to be heard by some sympathetic ears. I hope you like it.

Thanks for listening,

KMPST – KMPZ SESSIONS (Part 1)

KMPST – KMPZ SESSIONS (Part 1)
[top-120]

KMPST

“KMPZ SESSIONS (Part 1)”

KMPST brings the best of the Moscow underground electroacoustic free improv tablet electronica and marks the beginning of a new exciting era on top-40.org with back-to-the-roots hidden gems, original hits, and more entertaining explorations of the unknown.

KMPZ SESSIONS are designed as an acoustic labyrinth without exits but with many escape routes through paradoxical gaps in the aural continuum. Primordial, almost shamanic rhythms meet futuristic mech-a-droids in the vortex of high-freq noises and digital glitches, Amnesia Scanner versus self-mutated Autechre audio algorithms, dark soundscapes, and Muslimgauze’esque faux ethnic vibes.

The opening track KMPZ 015, a rudimentary clicks’n’çutz dark breakbeat anthem, sends us off on a rather epic hour-long journey through an abstract experimentalist interacoustic universe. From suspenseful, uncanny deep dub pulsations on KMPZ 001 to a slowly unfolding, swampy bass micro-ambient soundscape KMPZ 004, with a slightly attenuated KMPZ 008’s distant motive and granular proto-rhythmic vibrations and entrancing melodies of KMPZ 012, KMPST presents a compelling yet highly abstract musical story.

Doedelzak – P8 phase 3

Doedelzak – P8 phase 3
[Eg0_197]

Doedelzak

“P8 phase 3”

“P8 phase 3” presents another side of the work of our regular contributor Doedelzak. This time he used an hybrid methodology of improvisation, generative music and post-production manipulations. The 3 phases indicated in the title refer to the three main stages of the creative process used here :
phase 1 : improvisation on MIDI piano
phase 2 : extension on multiple virtual instruments, using aleatory distributions
phase 3 : superpositions, accelerations/decelerations, volumes
The result is multi-layered composition which is in the same time easy to the ear (thanks to its smooth sounds and melodic components) and very complex and ever changing. It could be enjoyed as background music but is also fascinating for a more focused listening which will let you discover many details and subtleties of the piece.

“live at Ritual Dekahan Bumi”

This release is a live recording of the collaboration of Limbah Berbunyi Project with Potrobayan Jam at the peak of the series of Ritual Dekahan Bumi in Potrobayan Village. Ritual Dekahan Bumi is a representation of the gratitude of the Potrobayan community along with several Eling Project teams in completing a series of workshops, one of which is making sound sources or musical instruments from existing resources. The resources used in this workshop came from waste and used goods around residents’ houses such as glass bottles, remnants of house floors, barrels, or used pipes. In this workshop, the Potrobayan community was facilitated by Limbah Berbunyi Project with a taste-based improvisation method. In this workshop also was born an art group from the Potrobayan community named Potrobayan Jam.

[Eg0_196]

Ayato & Kecap Tuyul

“The shaman won’t come back”

“The shaman won’t come back” is a new file-exchange based collaborative album of Ayato & Kecap Tuyul, It was recorded and mixed in various places between 2015 and 2018. Ayato played guitar with live looping made with a Revox reel to reel tape player, and Kecap Tuyul later overdubbed these hypnotic tracks with various sounds, building dense and trippy soundscapes.
This work can be considered as the 3rd part of a trilogy started with “Waiting for the shaman” , published 6 years ago. For the moment, the 2nd part of this trilogy exists only in the head of the listener.

[pn138]

Chris Silver T + Mauro Sambo

“…che il sapore dell’aria possa appoggiarsi alle labbra”

“In un arco temporale molto breve” (a Chris & Mauro).

Quando Il corpo si separa dalla mente e nuovi spazi si formano

Tu respira…

lascia passare l’aria e inoltrarsi l’ombra…

…aria

Tu respira…

Tha Silent Partner – Platters, Act 8: A Beat Plate For Pete Rock

Tha Silent Partner – Platters, Act 8: A Beat Plate For Pete Rock
[BSOG0082]

Tha Silent Partner

“Platters, Act 8: A Beat Plate For Pete Rock”

Exactly a year ago, Tha Silent Partner kicked off the ten year celebration of his Platters series with the release of an addition to it… A Platters Intermission: BLUNTEDSESH. Well, it’s only fitting that today he closes out the celebration with an incredible addition.

As a project that was so special to Gregory ‘TSP’ Davis’, Platters, Act 8: A Beat Plate For Pete Rock was something that had to be just right if he was going to release it. As such, it took years for it to come to fruition. Not only is it a tribute to one of his favorite producers, it’s also dedicated to his father Lloyd Davis, who instilled in TSP his love of music at an early age.

With this one TSP explores the reggae sounds of Jamaica and it’s incredibly good! So why a Reggae vibe? TSP and Pete Rock share a common Jamaican background and much of the music that his father introduced to him to was reggae.

TSP and blocSonic want to wish you Happy Holidays! Thanks for another incredible year. Enjoy this one.

Platters 8?!? It’s great to be able to continue giving fans incredible selections of music to listen to. Thanks for another one, TSP!

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!
