about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Wings of an Angel

“Highway 90 – From The Dead Sea of Galilee To Beit She’an”

For every person that has known the burden of nostalgia, the heavyweight of decaying memories, and a sense of quasi-eternal longing which goes far beyond words, as beautiful as they sometimes may sound.

Taigerbery – Alive

SCL116

Taigerbery

“Alive”

“Alive” is a Christmas gift, created by the Russian alternative rock band Taigerbery.
Vladimir: “Every year we record a special song to share some positive emotions. Basically I write songs to release stress and pressure I’m under, but for Christmas there is always something bright. “Alive” is devoted to love for making something that is your calling. Know it, keep it, don’t let it go and do it till you die – that’s what makes us happy and if one have not found it yet we wish to make it happen.”

weldroid – protozorq remixes

[tonAtom.130]

weldroid

“protozorq remixes”

the sequel to the protozorq release (tonAtom.126) is not “just another remix release”.
weldroid selected some extraordinary electronic artists from around the world to create new versions of his original tracks as the logical and artistical continuation of his own style and works.
AN MOKU’s ambient and harsh reinvention of ‘abandoned’ is as unique as jesse simpson’s cut-up version of ‘in my name’. the osch remix of the same original track ‘abandoned’ is a dreamlike, down-beat treat while the same song inspired poliversa to create an evolving, up-tempo drum-and-bass version. ‘morning blinds’ as seen through the eyes of nonima makes you immediately want to dance or at least nod to the beat (depending on your temper), while the beautiful ‘sleep tight’ is resurrected as an ever-changing, almost dubstep-like, almost completely new song.
and if this release was already completed with illl’s inspiring ‘bipolar disorder’ recreation of a more drum-oriented ‘not you fault baby’ it would already be a fully independent and great release. but this is a weldroid release, and he complemented it with two brand-new original tracks, which as a result makes “protozorq remixes” a nine track release of versatility and awesomeness.

Kai Engel – Calls and Echoes

SCL115

Kai Engel

“Calls and Echoes”

Well, Kai Engel didn’t just sit around doing nothing at all. That kind of person can’t afford to. So, what is his brand new album like? It’s pretty much a soundtrack to a movie that never was and never will be. Yet we can get a glimpse of it by exploring the palette of sounds and listening to every note closely – there are landscapes and images, characters and stories, scenes and moods. There are calls and echoes. So, after all that film probably does exist.

“The Breath that Conjured the Fall”

All Dystimbria releases utilize sound sources derived from previous releases on the label. The style of all tracks is somewhere between ambient and noise, a distinguished no-man’s land we call “quietnoise”.

Koncrete Roots – Dub ina Midlands

DPH011

Koncrete Roots

“Dub ina Midlands”

The year 2014 starts with some new dubophonic heights with Koncrete Roots, a one man project by Thomas Kenney from Leicestershire in the East Midlands of England.

>From an early age Thomas would listen to a huge amount of music though he would always favour the sounds of Ska and Reggae. Music was always in his blood and he began producing back in 2004 under a different name. The music he was making at the time was a reflection of the scene around him; hip hop and grime. It wasn’t until later in life, when he was introduced to (and fell in love with) Dub music, that he started to take his own music seriously and started to develop his own sound and style.

Koncrete Roots’ style can be described as a deeply rooted dub sound with a modern day steppa twist. This twist makes all the difference and gives an electro dubness to their traditional rootical sound introducing some great vibes to the massive, entering into the new year.

>From the meditative “River Jordan” to the rootical electro steppas like ‘Inity Step” and “Sound Killah”, Koncrete Roots deliver their message of dubness and irieness into the year 2014. Not withstanding his versions of two old time classics, the UK producer seems like a sound warrior, armed with deep basslines and organic melodies like in “Universal dub”, marching to destroy Babylon on his way to Zion.

Proyecto Lazarus & Bleak Fiction – Parenthesis

MIST054

Proyecto Lazarus & Bleak Fiction

“Parenthesis”

Parenthesis is the first release between Proyecto Lazarus (Spain) and Bleak Fiction (Argentina).

They focused in a dark ambient atmosphere, with diverse elements like noise, spoken word, field recordings, minimalism and drone music. It’s a conceptual album, with allusion to moments of reflexion about different themes.
