about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Oscar Santis

“Tercer Vertice”

OVERVIEW:

The album “Tercer Vértice” (Third Vertex) is the closing of a trilogy started with “Desde la Caja” (From the Box)
which was released by Pueblo Nuevo in 2016. The second part “Tides of Continental Plate” was published in 2017 by the Canadian label Oral records under the management of Eric Mattson.

These three works are a gradual evolution from the preferential use of digital tools and the computer to a generation of sound dominated by analog elements, even though both of these worlds remain present. They were recorded in a relatively consecutive period of time, although during a period of change in sonic conception. They are three ways of looking at the same place with varying the point of views.

Monplaisir

“Un jour je saurai”

A delicately lo-fi offering beaming in from the banlieues of Paris. This sequence of free-improvisational drones and dark chamber pieces seem to be channeling haunted memories of the fin de siècle via a dusty apartment mirror: wintry, intimate, and melancholic.

Atl.

“Fractured Mutants”

Deconstructing yesterdays inventions,
for instance walls,
we grow into a color- and artful future,
painting the world as we would love it to be.

The EP Fractured Mutants is a collaboration by Atl. and the visual artist Bob Clapés in BCN. Each track features a corresponding visual artwork. After seeing one artwork Atl. started to imagine and producing one track, raw cerebellum. Having those prefs saved he made other tracks. The tracks are musical reactions to certain visual artworks, being a homage to the visual artist Bob Clapés. You can read more about the process in the artist interview.

While the visuals are psy related fantastic creations you can find lead synth and bells in the music, that will probably turn into improbability frequency events.

[foot282]

Lavoura

“Ayizan”

Formed 16 years ago, Lavoura is a reference in future jazz made in Brazil. The group debuted two more songs, after a series of singles started in 2018. “Ayizan” is the first single. Climatic, the track brings in its DNA the Brazilian rhythm and the psychedelia, amplified by the arrangements and the accurate production, that confer a certain epic tone to the sonority, without losing the characteristic groove. The other single, “Bossa Exploitation”, refers to the anthropophagic research involving African music. It is the result of impromptu sessions that the group held between 2017 and 2018. Integrated by composers, producers, arrangers, beatmakers, musicians, visual artists and inventors, Lavoura makes a cinematic sound, referenced by the rhythm science and inspired by the concepts of phusion (fusion of the 21st century) and psychogeography, transform spaces in sensory experiences).

Sobria Ebrietas

“And Day Brought Back My Night”

New release from Sobria Ebrietas on Pilot Eleven Netlabel (PE21) under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence CC BY-SA 4.0.
Sobria Ebrietas was born around 1995-1996 as a side-project to his former band Absolutely Curtains, and became permanent after its split in 1999.
>From the outset, this project aimed at a research on sound, without any other goal than creating a specific visual feeling and the wish to generate a dark, powerful and captivating mark.
Following several albums, EPs and many sonic & visual collaborations spanning 20 years, this search asserted itself, spawned its evil twin Eurovision Über Alles and opened out to create a unique and unclassable soundscape still true to its original quest: the love of Sound.

“Octet”

This album is dedicated to the moment I stopped screaming at the Octatrack manual and watched a bunch of instruction videos on Youtube instead.
So, my thanks to Cuckoo, Ron Cavagnaro, Max Marco, Loopop, Ricky Tinez, André Neumann, Kenny Zhao and Dataline.

Apparently many people use this to make dance music. I found that you can give each of the eight tracks a different time signature, so these wobble along in a decidedly unstable manner. You might need to get drunk to dance to it…

Shika Shika – Cosmofania (V.A.)

Shika Shika

“Cosmofania (V.A.)”

Hard to believe it has been four years since the birth of Shika Shika with the release of Barrio Lindo’s Kayak Break EP. Four years of being able to release music we love, artists that inspire us and the power of borderless, cultural cross-pollination.

Yet we have reached a crucial crossroads where it is time for the collective to evolve and grow. We want to embrace a vision that tries to find the sweet spot between music & activism, be it cultural and social empowerment or environmental awareness.

Cosmofania (inspired by Cosmogony – the study of the beginning of the universe) embraces this new beginning but also new artists and new sounds for ys. A deep, exciting anf refreshing new beginning!

With this compilation we are presenting a selection of new names we’d never heard of until our open call, old friends we somehow haven’t already worked with and amazing established names. It is a selection of beautiful, music by 13 talented musicians and producers from all over the world – Canada to Indonesia, Egypt to Argentina. They are tied together by an approach to electronic folk music, rich organic soundscapes and a sonic freshness

featuring : Kousk (Canada) , Rumbo Tumba (Argentina), Eat my Butterfly (Reunion Island) Del Ritmo Vivo (Argentina) Prabumi (Indonesia) Dina El Wedidi (Egypt) Mikado Koko (Japan) Raio (US) Shamanic Catharsis (Ecuador) La Dame (France) Akimbo (US) Arilu (Germany) Peter Power (Ireland)

Teruyuki Kurihara – The Oblivion

Teruyuki Kurihara – The Oblivion
[post037]

Teruyuki Kurihara

“The Oblivion”

This album is about oblivion. Oblivion, as a deep river of memories. People tend to forget everything, whether it is joy, sadness or regret. They repeatedly forget. But, these emotions don’t simply vanish. There are rather accumulated in the river of memory. At the turn of the season, almost out of the blue, memories come back. ‘The Oblivion’ is expressing the fragility of these forgotten memories, and Kurihara expresses this with the sounds of the guitar. It brings the listener on a journey into the deep and vast forest of oblivion. At times, a journey into deep waters. Stretched layers of sounds, deep ambient undercurrents. Hidden meanings lie amongst fragile (pieces of) tiny melodies. Just underneath the surface, the rumblings of forgotten memories twist reality into a different tomorrow. The old and outdated must be burned and destroyed in order for the new to resurface.

Baltazar – Abstrakthas

Baltazar – Abstrakthas
[pn146]

Baltazar

“Abstrakthas”

“‘Abstrakthas’ by the Cuban artist Baltazár, is a work that was published independently in 2009, and which now
sees the light of a label release for the first time.

A mix between the classical, the digital, music concréte, architecture, voices and endless possibilities, all of
them modulated by infinite reverberations that merge as the tracks develop, with sounds that oscillate in all
directions while delivering an overwhelming listening experience.

In its composition, the album ‘Abstrakthas’ uses the violin as a conductive thread that pulls the different
works of the publication together into a melancholic story that, in some way or another, incites a deep
reflection on the various sounds that are revealed as the work progresses, playing with the mood perception and
delivering a wide range of sensations.

Recorded mostly as independent stereo tracks, which are subsequently superimposed with the purpose of realizing
a maticulous and patient sonic construction, based on the sonic blocks resulting from these recordings,
‘Abstrakthas’ is also the first chapter of the larger work ‘bordermuzak’, which collects all the artist’s
works from 1999 to 2016. It should be noted, however, that ‘bordermuzak’ does not compile the works
chronologically but rather as chapters of a novel written over the years.”

!ESC – Drfy

!ESC – Drfy
[ST007]

!ESC

“Drfy”

!Esc Belgrade-born multimedia artist Niña Lazareva.

She showing an affinity towards a wide palette of styles especially related to the electronic underground.

Her formative project Catfish Went Wrong exposed her passion for deep and minimal sounds, growing up with funkier, UK garage-influenced music , while Nanna Delay was more influenced by dub techno and haunting atmospheres which resulted in experimenting with tracks which show stronger emphasis on rhythmical progression and gave birth to her final !ESC where she plunged into the darker underbelly and music depths influenced by the more cavernous side of darkwave and industrial phase.

Sound of !ESC can be described as the sound of ambient techno in its spooky beauty. Droning atmospheres with a sinister and darkly seductive edge permeate the austere and slowly evolving harmonies, driven by subliminal beats.
Waves of ambient textures are engulfed in the sea of ambiences and vocal mantras , resembling an ocean of drowning memories and illusions.
In her tracks there is a reflective and pensive mood, asphyxiated ambience and insistent kick. With a simultaneously spare and detailed, and hypnotic and immersive sound.

!Esc unveils her obscure and delicate charms on her debut release for Secuencias Temporales.
