about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

[BSOG0086]

Tha Silent Partner

“Music To Hail Blue Whales To (Music Inspired By The Animated Series, Gulf City)”

Over the past three years funky animated series Gulf City has been gaining traction and quite a dedicated cult following. It has also been regularly featuring music by our own Tha Silent Partner! In so doing, it inspired TSP to further explore the types of sonic treats that viewers have been enjoying on the show. That ultimately brought about the album that you get to enjoy today! Fifteen tracks deep, this downtempo selection also features Gulf City’s own Ghastly Dope expounding on the surpreme knowledge of The Blue Whale aka the Prophet of Alhut Aleazim. So don’t sleep… listen to the album… and then head right over to Gulf City Studios and watch the series and then listen to the album again. Enlightenment’s a good thing. All hail Blue Whale!

Hey TSP… another incredible work… thank you again, sir! Mega thanks as well to Ghastly Dope of Gulf City!

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!

Oscar Santis – Tercer Vertice

“Tercer Vertice”

OVERVIEW:

The album “Tercer Vértice” (Third Vertex) is the closing of a trilogy started with “Desde la Caja” (From the Box)
which was released by Pueblo Nuevo in 2016. The second part “Tides of Continental Plate” was published in 2017 by the Canadian label Oral records under the management of Eric Mattson.

These three works are a gradual evolution from the preferential use of digital tools and the computer to a generation of sound dominated by analog elements, even though both of these worlds remain present. They were recorded in a relatively consecutive period of time, although during a period of change in sonic conception. They are three ways of looking at the same place with varying the point of views.

Rene Kita – Octet

Rene Kita – Octet

Rene Kita

“Octet”

This album is dedicated to the moment I stopped screaming at the Octatrack manual and watched a bunch of instruction videos on Youtube instead.
So, my thanks to Cuckoo, Ron Cavagnaro, Max Marco, Loopop, Ricky Tinez, André Neumann, Kenny Zhao and Dataline.

Apparently many people use this to make dance music. I found that you can give each of the eight tracks a different time signature, so these wobble along in a decidedly unstable manner. You might need to get drunk to dance to it…

“Wattfutchureez presents Beat Garden Compilation 8”

We know Wattfutchureez (What-Future-Is) through Ness Radio, that is supporting GERGAZ music since long time ago. The guy is DJing, producing, hosting artists and he is also no stranger to compilations.
We knew his taste and he knew what works for us. It was the easiest decision to make when we started thinking about the next Beat Garden presenter.

Janez Plešnar – Leftovers

Janez Plešnar – Leftovers
[KAM042]

Janez Plešnar

“Leftovers”

Leftovers is short release that confidently dives into rich loops of symphonic layers combined with distorted but controlled feedback punctuated and dictated by slow pulsating kicks and other low-frequency detritus – a mixture that manages to be dynamic and relaxing at the same time.

In fact, first track traverses number of various sonic configurations and intensities that inadvertently form a musical story without a clear start or end. After the dramatic depth of second track a short off-hand piano intermezzo clearly breaks the pattern and leads to a low-key digital debris with subtle dystopian murmurs and echoes in the background in the final track.

Written and recorded by a Slovene musician, guitarist, illustrator and designer this short sliver of sonic exploration, despite its briefness, represents one of the more adventurous musical excursions on our label.
