Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Стоит ли одиночество слов? Нет. Только музыки и звуков вокруг… Которые переплетаясь, создают отпечаток повседневности всеми забытого места, где умирают не только мечты, но и надежды…

Saso – Mysterium

Saso – Mysterium

Saso

“Mysterium”

Saso – Mysterium
Dublin based duo Jim Lawler and Ben Rawlins (aka Saso) return after a 5 year hiatus with the release on their 5th studio album titled Mysterium.

Where the duo’s previous albums centred around guitar and vocals, Mysterium is primarily a collection of piano based instrumentals occasionally lit by Lawler’s fragile vocals.

The band abandoned formal structure letting the music unfold naturally, using silence and room ambience as instruments in themselves.

Replacing guitars with the more pastoral sounds of an upright piano and acoustic organ, the album was recorded in one room and the duo invited musicians from diverse musical backgrounds to perform certain parts and improvise around sounds and melodies. The compositions are sprinkled with acoustic drums, double bass, woodwinds, brass and neo-classical vocals adding moments of colour and contrast to the otherwise minimalist sound.

Once more it is a pleasure to present a release by Agate Rollings, once more we would like to thank them for their offer. There is no denying that they have a unique, magical way to take you on a special trip – and that is what impressed us so much from the very first time we heard them.

Stefano Gallone (synth, guitars, effects, soundscapes)

Lab023

“Mellow Space”

Lab023 – Mellow Space
Lab023 first appeared as part of Waves VA in December with his track ‘Shanxi’. Constantly surprising with his take on the real classic sound of the early 90s (that many IDM artists today were inspired by) Mellow Space is a look at what made that time so exciting and innovative.

With fantastic tracks like ‘deepness, echo, morning sun and the wave’ which would have been instant hits on radio stations and in the playground on bootleg cassette tapes, Lab023 brings the early 90s up to date with modern technology.

These are improvised pieces using grand piano samples and playing them through some simple software programs i found on the net (www.ixi-software.net) – for the first piece it was lauki, for the second – crystals. Both of them (pieces) owing a lot to the abilities/failures – especially the second one – of my already ‘dead’ pc.

Eban Kröcher – Art 001
Review
Art 001 / Eban Kröcher

Esteban Peña aka Eban Kröcher presents his “001 Art” EP, three minimalist and atmospheric movements. While not completely setting aside his usual sounds, more linked to minimal house and chill out, this time the compositions seem to placidly float on ocean currents swept away by warm breezes. Small melodies appear alongside micro-sounds, creaks and granular sweeps, emphasizing the sense of tranquility but not stillness. They are rather creating mysterious atmospheres, without being disruptive, making it easy to imagine lonely forests and deserted beaches. Letting serene sounds flow at ease, not only is an exploratory way for the author but also a gift for those who listen. Because getting away from the stress that urban life causes us, even for the few minutes that this album lasts, is an experience that will always be welcomed.

Abjective

“Into the Labyrinth”

Abjective – Into the Labyrinth
Abjective first arrived on Kahvi back in December as part of the VA compilation (Waves). Now they’re back with an album entitled ‘Into the Labyrinth’.

Heading towards the more glitchy end of the audio spectrum, the nine track album scratches on the edges of ambient (slightly reminiscient of Curious Inversions or the Orb), while including a touch of Autectre to give the tracks more of a distinct feel.

The album could be seen as a cleanse of the palette, taking the listener to more pleasant times, a summertime shower, or spring sunshine.

Tracks of choice: Summoning of the muse, Organium drone.

M-PeX revisits his debut album Phado, originally put out in 2007 by Thisco and Fonoteca Municipal de Lisboa, now remastered and available free for download at Enough Records. The album is dedicated to his grandfather, Luís Tomás Pinheiro, master of the portuguese guitar, who introduced M-PeX to the fado universe. In Phado, M-PeX assumes the portuguese guitar as a characteristic trait of his musical identity, mixing it with electronic music. Cover artwork by Marco Madruga.

K.Markov – Excerpt One
The first release for 2016 is from guest artist K.Markov. A ten track ambient album showcasing a selection from three of his existing albums – The Mist, Transmission and Liquid, which you can find on his bandcamp page.

Following on from his first release on Kahvi under the name Phrulex (which was a single several years ago) K.Markov shows us that his style has evolved into a more mature ambient and chilled out vibe, much akin to Curious Diversions and Solar Fields.

Gently floating atmospheres, mixed with sweeping arpeggios and melodical interludes to keep you listening closely.

Purple Mountain Peal – The Day That Forgot To Break
“The day that forgot to break” is the third album by Purple Mountain Peal.

This release marks a more piano driven declination of what the duo has to offer in terms of improvisation, creativity and madness. To sum up, what you are about to witness is less chaos and more melody. Take it with a grain of salt by the way, it’s Purple Mountain Peal after all…

Cousin Silas

“A Moment Lost”

Cousin Silas – A Moment Lost
Sucu Music’s 2016 begins with the third release by Cousin Silas, whose trademark guitar-laden form of ambient and soundscapes is here to delight our ears and souls alike. The overall tone of “A Moment Lost” – this is the title of the new album – is less somber than in the previous works, and, apart from the closing track, the not-too-long playing time of the tracks allows the listener to sort of breathe between one aerial trip and another.

“Cosmic Conspiracies”

Jim And The Galaxy – Cosmic Conspiracies
João and João have been playing together since the early nineties. First in a death metal band, then in a covers band, now in a quartet, always taking it as heavily or lightly as possible.
Jim And The Galaxy was their first incursion as a duo – then electric bass, double bass, fx and magnetic tape – when a collective of friends commissioned a piece for a special evening.
Now, probably 20 years after, the first recording of a “live at home” session (no overdubs!) is released as the corollary of the many musical experiences they’ve had throughout the years.
Plain and simple, straight to the point and laid-back.

João Santos: electric bass, fx;
João Ricardo: electric guitar, fx.
