about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Manb – Dialogue Alone

[SCM-1603]

Manb

“Dialogue Alone”

“Dialogue Alone” is the second Manb offering at Sucumusic.

The so called “art-quantum” concept manifested in his previous music, here continues its course in a series of tracks where improvisation is still the major Ermanno’s approach. Textures of sounds and synths are less broken, here. The time quantum is scanned by the minimal rhythm interventions and variations. This release, like all Manb’s music, has a natural vocation to cinematic purposes. You can easily imagine still poses that slowly mutate from A to B in a non linear, imperceptible and unpredictable path. Quoting David Byrne, at the end of the journey, “you may find yourself” asking “where did I get there?”http://sucumusic.weebly.com/uploads/2/3/8/4/23844610/8963418.jpg

pivotone – lainy day

[ele023]

pivotone

“lainy day”

pivotone are a Japanese music duo composed of Gnyonpix and Gaki(from Bakirinosu). Electric tracks by Gnyonpix and the singing voice of Gaki weave unique music. This work “lainy day” is characterized by a jaunty rhythm and a sense of floating.
It expresses “whether or not being there” in the time before dawn.

STEKKLO – STEKKLO

STEKKLO

“STEKKLO”

STEKKLO is a Russian electronic band formed solely by Arkady Cherkashin. His production style was created under the influence of psychedelic-pop bands of new wave as well as of Soviet rock and synth-pop bands. STEKKLO music style can be characterized as a synth-popelectroclash with the elements of lo-fi and acoustic, although the musician doesn’t specify the genre of his project. This main idea is harmony of different kinds of sound and it’s styles in art and live on the whole.

Oscar Santis – Desde La Caja

[pn103]

Oscar Santis

“Desde La Caja”

“Óscar Santis, great artist of respect and renown, it has already been several years since I’ve known and recognized his trajectory, and it never ceases to be a true luxury and pleasure to hear his sounds. On this occasion he delivers sounds sufficiently well worked, so much so that they remind me of the late Akifumi Nakajima in the sense of achieving true soundscapes, with a density still greater than that to which one might become accustomed.

Each sound is a story and if you expand your mind, you will be able to capture to the maximum all the sounds that he manages to collect on these eight sound pieces. Glitches, sound strikes, all very well worked, note the treatment in each of the sounds, and the dedication to destroy each fragment, every millisecond, every detail delivers a different perception, its worth really disconnecting and hearing that which was dusted off from the box.”

Abjective – Into the Labyrinth

[367]

Abjective

“Into the Labyrinth”

Abjective first arrived on Kahvi back in December as part of the VA compilation (Waves). Now they’re back with an album entitled ‘Into the Labyrinth’.

Heading towards the more glitchy end of the audio spectrum, the nine track album scratches on the edges of ambient (slightly reminiscient of Curious Inversions or the Orb), while including a touch of Autectre to give the tracks more of a distinct feel.

The album could be seen as a cleanse of the palette, taking the listener to more pleasant times, a summertime shower, or spring sunshine.

Tracks of choice: Summoning of the muse, Organium drone.

Various Artists – netBloc Vol. 50: superSonic

[BSCOMP0050]

Various Artists

“netBloc Vol. 50: superSonic”

First and foremost, I’d like to send out an extra special thank you to all artists and netlabels who, over the years, have been part of our story through the netBloc series. When I first had the idea to begin this series in 2006, I really had no idea if anyone would be interested in being included on such a compilation series. I surely had no idea whether or not the listeners would come. Thankfully, the response was great and that has allowed us to build on that with our original release formats, as well! It’s been a hell of a ride thus far.

2016 promises to be an interesting year for us with new formats that will see us giving back to the Creative Commons community with very remix friendly content. It’s still too early to give away all the details of what we’ve got cooking, but stay tuned.

Today we’ve got netBloc Vol. 50: superSonic for you to enjoy — a selection that includes Hip-Hop, Synthpop, Indie, Rock, Electronic, Trip-Hop, Downtempo, Electro and Future Beats. A global collection which even includes a sneak-peak of a forthcoming Tha Silent Partner release, which is set to drop on February 9th!

Thanks again to all Vol. 50 artists and labels! As always, this series really couldn’t happen without you.

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!

K.Markov – Excerpt One

[366]

K.Markov

“Excerpt One”

The first release for 2016 is from guest artist K.Markov. A ten track ambient album showcasing a selection from three of his existing albums – The Mist, Transmission and Liquid, which you can find on his bandcamp page.

Following on from his first release on Kahvi under the name Phrulex (which was a single several years ago) K.Markov shows us that his style has evolved into a more mature ambient and chilled out vibe, much akin to Curious Diversions and Solar Fields.

Gently floating atmospheres, mixed with sweeping arpeggios and melodical interludes to keep you listening closely.

Cousin Silas – A Moment Lost

[SCM-1602]

Cousin Silas

“A Moment Lost”

Sucu Music’s 2016 begins with the third release by Cousin Silas, whose trademark guitar-laden form of ambient and soundscapes is here to delight our ears and souls alike. The overall tone of “A Moment Lost” – this is the title of the new album – is less somber than in the previous works, and, apart from the closing track, the not-too-long playing time of the tracks allows the listener to sort of breathe between one aerial trip and another.
