about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Netlabel Live Session – Ala Social Net 2012

[AT034]

Netlabel Live Session

“Ala Social Net 2012”

Starting from an idea of Adriano Bossola and Giampaolo Campus and thanks to the Skywine Showroom support , there was a meeting in Ala (TN) on 12th January 2012 among some Italian netlabels. The aim of this event was to estabilish an active collaboration among the participants. This to get a wider spread of the Creative Commons Music in Italy and to create events with musicians belonging to this area.
During the two days meeting, the musicians coming from the invited netlabels performed first their own live music and then they joined together in a final improvisation session. From this last event it came out the idea to start a first collaboration project and, so, to publish this session on the web as a free download. On this occasion four of the following netlabels playing in Ala decided then to join the release publishing it simultaneously on the web:Acustronica
AlchEmistica
ozky e-sound
Parafonica

Musicians joining the improvisation session:

Cesare Discepoli – guitar
Enrico Coniglio – laptop, psalterium, sampler
Francesca Coniglio – live visuals Giampaolo Campus – zither
Massimo Croce – laptop
Massimo Discepoli – synth
Sergio Camedda – sampler

Surak – Space Invaders

[AT033]

Surak

“Space Invaders”

“The album is a stellar work of excellence.” Floor Shime Zipper Boots

“A noteworthy launch that eludes all genre traps and clichés with ease.” ambientexotica.com

“Surak has managed to lace Space Invaders with such intricate music and emotion that it presents the listener with a beautiful dream-like sensation of falling into the unknown.” Sound and Motion Magazine

“And here goes something I wouldn’t miss at any cost. Easy listen, easy flaw, easy vibes, easily accessible. Everything about this project is great as it carries an extreme minimalist side with some exquisite drone elements backed up by spoken lyrics few places.”

Rockit.it

“Ciò che colpisce è la sua versatilità e capacità di miscelare e amalgamare in modo impeccabile più generi da trame ambient a struttura post-rock sino a intrecci psichedelici che attraversano liquide note di pianoforte, protagonista della maggior parte dei pezzi.” Son Of Marketing

“Space Invaders, il primo disco interamente autoprodotto: tredici tracce che vanno dall’ambient e space rock fino all’elettronica, e formano una deliziosa colonna sonora di sfavillante eterogeneità.” Troublezine.it

“Surak ha prodotto un disco, il primo, perfetto nelle sonorità, complesso e impegnativo per certi versi ma accessibile ed orecchiabile.” Priski.it

“Space Invaders è un lavoro coraggioso e potente, rarefatto e maturo; un risultato ottenuto da idee precise e non declinabili.” IndieRockNapoli

‘Space Invaders’ is the 13-track self-released debut album by Surak. It can be considered atmospheric, yet with a distinct rock vibe and minimalist piano shades. The result is an ambient/post-rock listening experience where the sound is transcendent: the tracks represent a dreamy blend of orchestral textured electronic music.

T.BIRD – Hoi Bun Road

[NN_Perform013_04_13]

T.BIRD

“Hoi Bun Road”

T.Bird (from “The Talking Bird”, the name of parrot-shaped 8bit toy sampler) came into being in 1996 at Moscow as a solo project of experimental musician and sound producer Victor “Mutant” Shevtsov (ex-Dolphin). Transformation into a full band happened at the end of the ‘00s. In 2009 bassist Ivan “Kester” Lebedev (ex-member and founder of cult Russian psychedelic bands Alien Pat. Holman and Dubovy Gaaj) and drummer “Plastic Monkey” joined Victor. Once being formed, the band began performing live improvisation sessions at “T-34 base” at the Arma Factory. Synthesis of space-electronic sound and a massive rhythm section creates a special musical hybrid, which can be called krautronic” or “urban raga”.

DELTA-SLEEP-INDUCING PEPTIDE – Narkoklang

[BN_LP003_04_13]

DELTA-SLEEP-INDUCING PEPTIDE

“Narkoklang”

DELTA-SLEEP-INDUCING PEPTIDE (DSIP) was founded in 1989 by Dieter Mauson + Siegmar Fricke. Until 1994 DSIP produced around 25 cassettes, published on various tape-labels all around the world and on the privately run DSIP-cassette-label. The music was recorded with electronic equipment on analogue tape-recorders and cassette-decks in their own homestudios in Hamburg, Mainz and Wilhelmshaven/Germany. DSIP exclusively concentrated on the realisation of experimental + subtle soundtracks which can be described as mind-cinema of the subconscious. The stages of sleep + phenomena of dreams have been musically explored in an idiosyncratic sound-approach. After 19 years of silence a brandnew studio-album entitled “Narkoklang” has been produced after DSIP’s reactivation in 2013. “Narkoklang” contains six sonic movements of very narcotic nature, arranged in complex stereoacoustic fields of floating ambient spheres, micro-organic particles and pulsating rhythm-oscillations. A highly meditative and intense work, exploring the effects of deep + subliminal sound-morphing during the aural process.

[GT601]

“Святой Демон”

We’re surrounded by music everywhere. In cafes, in malls, in taxis. But in most cases it do not reach your soul remaining an obtrusive thought which we sometimes irresistibly want to get rid of.
But what if to add rhythmic verses with reflections upon absolutely various themes to constantly transforming, politonous music? This was a very idea, which started recording of “Svyatoy Demon” album by Andrey Subbotin, with Joseph as a composer.
You will hear both “drum roll bursts” in “Триумф” (Triumph) and gratitude to “classics and philosophers in “Книги” (Books).

Lyndsie Alguire – After Image

[FLD001]

Lyndsie Alguire

“After Image”

The days are numbered before Lyndsie Alguire really starts popping up in our daily lives. Her evocative sounds and deep storytelling teeter on the edge of pop and experimental music, permitting Lyndsie to drench her sweet, simple and delicate melodies into heavy static and profound, complex layers of field-recordings. Her compositions wash over you like a fresh beam of spring morning light, showcasing the minute particles of dust floating into the day.

This also marks the first release of our new series ‘ The Fold ‘. All music will be totally free to download but you can also contribute to the Camomille label group project and buy the limited edition Poster + CDR release, this time featuring photography by the ever talented Sofia Ajram.

It is availble in a limited edition 8.5×11 poster+cdr ( 50 copies ) as well as a free download.

Acrilic Colors – Ab Origine

[331]

Acrilic Colors

“Ab Origine”

One of the Kahvi artists whose releases are always consistently epic and cool is Acrilic Colors, and gladly we welcome him back to Kahvi in 2013 with a small but perfectly formed four track 4 entitled Ab Origine.

Expressive textures and chilled ambience build the usual sublime Acrilic style, ranging from the atmospheric ‘last vanishing meter of infinite’ which gets you into the ambient mood, to the ‘just begging to be part of an orb album’ Aboriginal dawn (perhaps the title is a nod towards the ambient masters themselves?)

Enjoy this great release from one of Kahvi’s favourite artists!

Mtu – 97

[LGN023]

Mtu

“97”

We introduce you the new album of Mtu, 97 a darker work than the previous one.

It harbours melancholy, memories and rage. An emotional release that pretends to be a farewell to the experienced sullen moments.

Experimentation in sound manipulation in order to convey these feelings is present through the five songs offered in the album.

andrea pensado – teraz, tak!

[pyr074]

andrea pensado

“teraz, tak!”

andrea pensado works with sound as a performer, composer and teacher. she has been using digital media and live interactive musical systems since 1995. she studied in argentina and poland. at first she composed mainly for acoustic instruments, however, she gradually felt more attracted by different sound realms. today, the abrasive digital noise of her improvisations is far away from her earlier pieces. harsh dense layers of sounds, often interwoven with her voice, combine hybrid synthesis and sampling techniques to create a highly personal sound language, which reflects an intuitive, emotional and paradoxically also logical approach to music making. she currently lives in the united states.

teraz, tak!, her first album for pan y rosas, begins with a solo performance by andrea and is followed by a series of duets between andrea and the musicians: walter wright, davindar singh, adriana de los santos and alexei borisov who provide additional electronics, saxophone, piano and guitar respectively.
