about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

xenoton – un

xenoton – un
[tonAtom.145]

xenoton

“un”

un’ is built on a linguistic motif, with each track’s title (whether in German or English) beginning with the prefix ‘un’, such as ‘unRest’, ‘unStet’, ‘unBalanced’, ‘unStern’ and ‘unErwartet’. the album’s structure allows each track to function independently, while collectively forming a narrative that is intricately detailed and gains depth with repeated listening.

musically, this album marks xenoton’s shift towards more ambient and cinematic soundscapes. while it may seem like a departure from previous work, it maintains continuity with his artistic journey. “un” continues to blend deep, reflective soundscapes with his signature melodic style. the album echoes his previous works ‘crescent’ (2020) and ‘traveller’ (2015), but also explores new sonic spaces, offering a sophisticated and layered listening experience, a journey into the unexpressed and undiscovered in sound.

“Scientific Materialism”

I lost my job recently and thus had a lot of free time to work on songs. The album art was drawn by @komiiworldtour – follow them on Instagram; commission them to make your logo. They’re great.I’ve been listening to “Simulation Swarm” by Big Thief a lot recently and it has influenced the tracks on this EP pretty strongly – I tried to make groovy beats with cryptic, fantastical lyrics.

I hope you guys like this but, more importantly, I hope it can provide some benefit to the world. I think that music is the only thing in the universe.

Lilac Complex – Lilac Complex – Tracks Fit For Permanent Deletion Vol. 1
[Wuerfel40]

Lilac Complex

“Lilac Complex – Tracks Fit For Permanent Deletion Vol. 1”

Holy cow, what’s broken? Have we taken leave of our senses? Quite the opposite: we know exactly what we’re doing and we sense (sic!) that this album by Lilac Complex (our new addition to the Würfel) will be huge. And we sincerely ask you not to take the title of the album as a call to action – or if you do, then simply delete all the other tracks in your music collection, except for Lilac Complex. Because this release takes no prisoners.

We hear digital-harsh drum’n’bass with a wonderfully outrageous retrofuturistic sound aesthetic. Wait, what does that mean again? Ok, glad you asked. One thing at a time.

„Retrofuturistic“ refers to a vision of the future from times gone by, in this case drum’n’bass from the 90s, as it was celebrated on countless Playstation 1 games. Everything tends to be 12 rather than 32 bit, with small glitches and a certain digital harshness, but getting the maximum sound out of the limited possibilities. Until the chips glow and the computer crashes. Cyberpunk is the word of the hour and the future will be breathtaking. Digital freedom galore.

“Outrageous” is of course an insinuation, because this “looting” in seemingly past worlds of sound is not done here naively reproducing, but with a keen eye and, above all, sharpened ears from the present day. In postmodern arbitrariness, not everything is arbitrary, but only available at the same time and invites you to hunt and collect and then sort in and out. Whatever is needed at the moment.

„Wonderful“ in the end is what has emerged here: a musical time machine. But the journey not only goes back to the 90s but also (yes, why not) into the future. Throw a little industrial, metal, glitchcore and bitcrusher into the maelstrom and let the machine run at maximum until it screeches and gives up the ghost. Only to then beg its owner to please, please not dispose of it. Fortunately for us, her pleas were heeded by Lilac Complex. We can only hope that this old, slightly broken machine (which has only just survived a nuclear explosion) will be started up again in the future. Regardless of whether this future is rosy or rusty.

Briefly about the artist: Lilac Complex lives and works in the south-east of the USA. That’s all that matters at the moment.

Lluvia Acida – Puntarenazo

Lluvia Acida – Puntarenazo
[pncd13]

Lluvia Acida

“Puntarenazo”

The Puntarenazo and the strike of a beast.

We are facing a documentary work capable of communicating an open wound, the slash of a predatory beast that slipped through the cracks of our history. The musical group Lluvia Ácida has offered an account of testimonies and images that document, “El Puntarenazo”, the first demonstration against dictator Augusto Pinochet in his presence, which took place on February 26, 1984, in the main square of the city of Punta Arenas. There, the tyrant in his uniform from uncertain battles and his gray cape encountered the reaction of a people who, behind the bars of the cathedral, accused him of his crimes, baseness, and felonies. All of this led to a series of episodes linked to the political expression of the regime, culminating in the tragic events of October 6 of that same year: the installation of a bomb that destroyed the parish of “Nuestra Señora de Fátima (Our Lady of Fatima)” and which also ended the life of the army lieutenant who placed the explosive.

The music and the progression of the documentary provide the viewer with a significant universe, an eloquence to appreciate, on the one hand, a mark of pain. And in another sense, the beautiful symphony of civic organization. I am aware that as a musical group and also as audiovisual artists, Lluvia Ácida have a long history of developing themes related to the social struggles of our southern community.

“Puntarenazo” is a work where the voices of the past coexist to convey a new pact with history. It goes without saying that many times there is a tendency to emphasize the Coup and the dictatorship as something that mainly happened in Santiago, the political and administrative capital of our country. But there was also Dawson, Tejas Verdes, Isla Quiriquina, Pisagua, and, in the same way, citizens from different areas of the territory protested against tyranny. In this case, the southernmost continental city in the world was the stage for that gesture of rebellion, forged in different town hall meetings held in the heart of the community.

Where do the silenced words and the pains that never healed persist? It is a truth and a certainty that art is often there to interrogate that trauma, to dive into the depths and bring back the lessons of history, sometimes even exposing the matrix of an era. Therefore, Lluvia Ácida has created a unique, impeccable document that unearths a time when horror and infamy were the daily currency. Amid the amnesiac choruses that some propose in our present, they have addressed the need for memory and the epic of a distant community that rose up against the dictates of a hooded and cruel general who betrayed the most elementary principles of a republic.

Lifecutter – Hollow

Lifecutter – Hollow
[KAM069]

Lifecutter

“Hollow”

Lifecutter’s music is a true love affair with saturated frequencies, glitchy anomalies and distorted patinas, exploring the extremes of aggressive electronic music. However, it doesn’t have much in common with mindless fist-bumping, trendy TikTok hard techno dancing and bland distorted techno for big room raves. Although his music is rough and somewhat violent, it still radiates an aura of inexplicable mysticism. He borrows from the post-Einstürzende Neubauten industrial era and the groundbreaking techno sounds of the 90s and wraps them in a high-tech, digitally-enhanced format to underscore the dystopian, post-AI reality we live in.

”Hollow”, his fifth album for the Ljubljana-based label Kamizdat, is a logical continuation of the aesthetic he presented on his last full length album ”Sub Persona”. The new album contains nine powerful cuts that maintain his fascination with the dark and sludgy elements of British industrial techno strains and their connections to EBM, rhythmic noise, no wave and other “dark hued” genres. Melodies are sprinkled throughout the album, but they always verge on “melodic noise” rather than fully-blown melodicism in the… mehr

XPURM

“RUPMX”

tonAtom.net is pleased to announce the release of XPURM’s latest album, “RUPMX.” this new release is a follow-up to the artist’s previous works, “UPRMX” and “PRUMX,” and continues to further explore similar themes.
“RUPMX” offers a collection of tracks that blend neoclassical elements with experimental electronic symphonies, a style XPURM refers to as cinematica. each track on this album is designed to convey a unique emotional narrative, reflecting the artist’s personal experiences and perspectives.
XPURM, who prefers to remain anonymous, began recording piano sessions on cassette tapes, which formed the foundation of his current musical style. his work reflects his experiences marked by a life of duality – his private identity versus his public persona.
“RUPMX” resonates with themes of human consciousness and the impact of artificial intelligence on our era. it is an emotional journey, encapsulating the artist’s reflections on the changing times and the essence of human authenticity.
this release is the latest addition to tonAtom.net’s diverse collection of music offerings.

Corazón – Corazón – Brazilian Edits (TTRaízes Vol. 1)

Corazón – Corazón – Brazilian Edits (TTRaízes Vol. 1)

Corazón

“Corazón – Brazilian Edits (TTRaízes Vol. 1)”

Please welcome the first edition of TTRaízes, our brand new series focusing on edits of Brazilian traditional music. For the grand opening, we invited our dear friend Pablo Arruda aka Corazón, bringing us 10 of his best original edits.

The idea behind the Corazón project is directly linked to the production of the edits in this release. In the attempt to find a different soundscape from the scene in which he was inserted at the time, the artist reached for Brazilian music in a way to form a unique setlist, bringing an original identity to the project.

Therefore, classical and significant music from Brazilian history were carefully selected and went through an experimental process, by studio or by live edits on stage, the songs started to be reconstructed under Pablo’s unique vision.

Originally from Francisco Beltrão in Paraná, Brazil, Pablo is a musician, DJ, and music producer. Now based in Curitiba, he was a drummer for Audac, releasing an album produced by Gordon Raphael, known for his work on The Strokes’ albums “Is This It” and “Room On Fire”. He has performed at festivals such as Popload Gig in São Paulo, Meca Festival in Porto Alegre, and FARM/Picolé at Circo Voador in Rio de Janeiro. He began presenting DJ sets at James Bar, where he was a resident for four years. As a member of GATOPARDØ, he performed at Adhana Festival editions and has five releases under the record label.

Currently, he produces events with Portal Kirin, with Kirin Sets being the main project he’s involved in.

This series will remain a hidden gem in our Bandcamp for obvious reasons. We will invite different artists with edits from different regions of the country, and each edition will come with exclusive and limited cassette tapes.

WHΛLTHISИEY

“Hypnothist”

The music of WHΛLTHISИEY is a solitary soundtrack to nowhere, a non-tourist map into the unknown; music and images to create new, fully immersive environments, an intriguing aural pilgrimage with no destination in time and space, nuances and labyrinths.
WHΛLTHISИEY selects and mixes music for the mind and body in the same quantities that emerges from encounters between the past and the present, drawing beauty of the commonplace, wiping, polishing it, giving it life again, so to produce the same effect of the original freshness and spontaneity, a mirror that transforms it absorbs and reflects, telescoping the past through the present. WHΛLTHISИEY has a necessity to reimagine time even as time runs out.
