about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Jack_plug

“Recorrido Sonoro Mixtape”

As a way of celebrating 15 years of existence for the prolific and eclectic national netlabel Pueblo Nuevo, Andre Baradit, alias Jack_Plug – a prominent visual artist, dj, and national producer, who currently resides in Valparaíso – has compiled in his “Recorrido Sonoro Mixtape» a fine selection of 15 tracks that incorporate IDM, minimal, dub and deep techno.

Through this journey, Jack_Plug rehashes the first stage of the label with productions by Insecto, Pirata, Alisú, Mika Martini, TEC, Daniel Jeffs, F600, Gastón Arévalo, Baradit, Gozne, Dj Elástico, Anamlor Smith, also including a track of my authorship. In this production, Jack_Plug incorporates the works of Balbo and Francisco Pinto from the latest productions of the label as well. From the start, each track is intertwined by means of an oscillating bass drum, as Andre neatly takes care to ensure that the listener does not perceive any break in step from one track to another.

In these complex and dynamic times, Pueblo Nuevo continues to resist and continues to offer great support for national electronic music with a group of producers who have evolved and contributed through the years.

M=W – Años Luz

M=W – Años Luz
[M040]

M=W

“Años Luz”

Review:

The earth is located nearly 8 light-minutes from the sun; that is what who are supposed to know say. How can this be swallowed?
Of course our condition of ordinary human beings aims to define and calculate it all to give sense to our brief passage in this dimensional plane. And yes, we are lost for words most of the time.
The new formula M=W is a way of teaching that spoils and grabs.
>From the numerical perspective M=W solves its own encapsulated time, in theorems related to exoplanets located within vertigo distances, and as the time passes, they move in a means recognized as «the void», a place where its magnetic permeability is hold onto, among other characteristics connected with the most intimate astronomical phenomena.
Its most frequent paradigms correspond to the subtle modifications of this void; M=W presents this theorem as curve spaces with thermal populations in the presence of external fields; that is to say, and so that doña Juanita gets to understand: the speed of light depends on the density of the energy in that precise void.
M=W does not hurry up; it has calculated every metric tensor with its perfectly calibrated sextant, as it knows that the journey is eternal and internal, and that these three sonorous pieces begin to fall in a unique continuum, as they were three concepts inextricably connected to one another.
It is very interesting to confirm through this release that the cosmonaut Jáuregui Arévalo manages to confirm the existence of a gravitational dilation of the alleged sensed space-time reality; speaking in human: something like the sweet trill of a particle inside a rotating system of reference, which is not plane, and in which there is no tension that may core it.
This could be interpreted as if the time has been slowed down for the clock of your microwave; but that is only truth in the context of the observer’s reference system. Locally, and as it is well known, this time is always running as the same rhythm.
The time dilation phenomenon is applied to any process that reveals changes through time space; and precisely by reaching that point is when it gets crystal clear that this alleged reality gets frozen in a generous net, perfectly designed for the total escape; something like the starting point for the big take off.
That said, M=W wave at us, and the consequences of the alteration that occurred in this plane is on Modismo.
And, of course, we are the lucky ones who gaze at the stars with the sound volume as the lightspeed.

bleed Air – s/t

bleed Air – s/t
[SPT002]

bleed Air

“s/t”

This is a mix tape (on cassette and digital) blending dark ambient, playful electronica as well as experimental beat and drone.

A journey into warm, analogue noise, echo and soundscapes, sometimes perhaps resembling a soundtrack for a yet unfilmed low budget sci-fi movie.

When Robot choirs start singing or (broken) analogue circuits and filters start doing what they want, it can get wacky, but we think it always remains pleasant to listen.

Mostly analogue electronic gear, often of the cheaper and not exactly hip kind, and tape effects were used.

It is recommended to listen to each side of the album in one piece. The single Digital release tracks are not mixed, but musically cut – and we’ve added the side A and B mixed files too. Sounds cooler on the nicely saturated ferro tape though.

bleed Air lives in Cologne, loves his Omnichord OM-27 and his tape echo too.

Dos Kanye – Contraa

Dos Kanye – Contraa
[TTR069]

Dos Kanye

“Contraa”

“Contraa” is The first EP of the rhythm fanatics “Dos Kanye”.
The EP is a welcome call to their edgy colorful dimension of heavy percussion beats, unleashed analog sound and repetitive playful samples. In the ep they are hosting talented musicians from their community such as: “Shaman Shaman” with his gibberish vocals on the track “Contraa”, Aviv Bachar playing the ancient Beduin instrument called Sumsumia in the track “Cubia” and Oren Ben David going wild on Analog Synths in the track “Kibutz Jungle”.

Beside the original mixes, we are proud to present to you 4 remixes that bring a whole new perspective of the tracks and making the experience even more delicious. Allow yourself to dive into the chaotic universe of “Dos Kanye” and we can promise you a wild galactic dance by the fire.

Dos Kanye believe in liberation of rhythms and wild flow of sounds,
Same as the jungle,
Same as the desert-
The brand new duo of Nadav Dagon and Ben Landesman creates massive-organic patterns that contain sounds from the tribes of the past and from the ones that weren’t yet born.
They believe in long bass,
They believe in vibration,
They believe in revolution.

Poetas Marcianos – AFRODYZIACO EP

Poetas Marcianos – AFRODYZIACO EP
[pn165]

Poetas Marcianos

“AFRODYZIACO EP”

Pandemic and all, Poetas Marcianos have been working quietly, persistently, and with great conviction from a few years ago, present an advance of their second album, “Afrodyziaco”. Containing six out of thirteen tracks, they provide a glimpse of an elaborated, disciplined endeavor. Their framework, already presented in their first album, released in 2015, consists mostly in three-to-four -minutes-long tracks arranged like little intelligent-techno-pop goldsmiths. Music for trance, dancing in the midst of an electronic drunkenness, or for attentive listening, since this framework is filled with sonic and compositional details.

Words are by Poeta Morgue and Poeta Oz, except “Respiro Azul”, by Sandriuska Theremin; music is generally by Morgue; arrangements are by the group, carrying a predominant quasi psychedelic sonic quality around them, fitting very well in the communicative atmosphere these artists aim at. Creative and intelligent sound inserts closing some tracks are real highlights, such as “El Diario de Tesla” (Tesla Journal), a beautiful retrospective of an individual’s cosmic vicissitude turning into an anti military claim; or “Respiro Azul” hypnotic trance, where Sandriuska’s vocals number, both in Mapudungun and Spanish, sensitive political mapuche claims, closing with a tribal voices and fifes invocation ritual. A highlight we are grateful for is that beats and rhythmic patterns are not programmed in a constant tempo: there are variations, moving from 4/4s to 7/8s, some of them easily danceable to or inviting a careful listening, for the theremin and other electronic devices outer space touch connects us to German 1970s prog, specifically Cluster and Harmonia. Thus, these tracks run away from the rhythmic and melodic monotony found in many Chilean electro pop artists productions.

Thus, the overtly political aims of these songs deconstruct cheap national cliché, such as the ironic Chilean cuisine praise (“Cazuela”), Chilean singer Rosita Serrano’ Nazi flirtings (“Transgénica”), or local pop culture tributes, like 1980s comic strip characters (Lautaro Parra’s “Blondi” or Marcela Trujillo’s graphic novels) becoming claims on sexual and gender discrimination or helpless, proletarian descamisadas masses. Words are skeptical, parodic, filled with an overt, bitter irony, revealing these poet/musicians literary background and their mastery of present-day oral and vocal poetry resources.

Suffice to say that that “Blondi” has also been taken to video clip format -available via YouTube-, in a 1920s German expressionist silent cinema aesthetic.

Poetas Marcianos music isn’t escapist at all, carrying a dramatic intensity, as a result of both vitality and social critique, not falling prey to many politicians’ grave mood, likely to present existential martyrdom as the only politically correct way. This band’s work presents true criticism, providing also room for humor in their ultramodern electronica and poetry mixture enchantment.

Since we’re really close friends with the band, I see no conflicts in reviewing their work. I try to keep a distance, but the eulogy fits here, for this album contains very good music and poetry. As simple as that.

Tokee

“Stages”

Tokee is an alter-ego of the Russian/Israeli composer and sound engineer Anatoly Grinberg who has released numerous solo and collaborative albums and is mostly known as prominent Dark Ambient / Cinematic Drone / Industrial music composer. Tokee’s new album “Stages”, though, can be described as having roots in the early 80′ synth wave and synth pop. This specific sound, amazingly aesthetically preserved also by the remixers with their unique twists on side B of the tape, and the very coming out as special cassette artefact take us back to Anatoly’s childhood and youth before the Soviet Union was split, where those early electronica sounds fascinated and inspired him, and in many cases they were found on or recorded to tapes.
released August 23, 2020

Composed and produced by Anatoly Grinberg in Moscow, Russia in 2019-2020

Tracks 1 to 7 (Side A of the cassette) are all original tracks
