about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

3rd anniversary – 2nd stage

After all,
the hole is open to imagine how we can interpret,
I can not get to the answer.
Into a mixture of order and the reality
in the “delusion” and “nightmare”.
We are lured into the labyrinth with no exit…

KARST & VINCENT BARRAS – Corpusculairmetrique
Abstral Compost: voix & texte
Cyril Bondi: percussions, objets
d’incise: percussions, objets, feedbacks
Luc Müller: Percussions, objets, micro contact
Vincent Barras: Voix & texte (Face A)Karst brings together three musicians/percussionists/improvisors, playing in a fusional, abstract, eletroacoustic way, and voice/text/word/sound. This LP, third publication of the ensemble, grows around the theme/word “corps” (body). On the first side, the Abstral Compost’s random text is put in regard of the improvised speech by Vincent Barras (facinatinf character, speaker, medecin historian, sound poet, Cage’s translater, sound anthropogist, etc).
Karst present as well in 2012 a sound theatre play, “Besoin modeste assiette plate”, around Samuel Ernest Daibe’s outsider writings.
Cyril Bondi and d’incise team together since years, mainly with their duo Diatribes. Luc Müller is involved in the Lausanne based collective Rue du Nord. Abstral Compost oscillats between sound poetry and wild rap with the Labrats Bugband.

JASON KAHN – FOR ANGEL

JASON KAHN – FOR ANGEL
[48L09]

JASON KAHN

“FOR ANGEL”

JASON KAHN – FOR ANGEL
‘For Angel’ was my last performance with a set-up I had been touring around the world for many years. This always involved amplified percussion (snare drum, floor tom or bass drum) and electronics (at first computer, later analog synthesizer). But whatever the configuration of the instruments used, in these performances I always felt the main instrument I was playing was the concert space, using the resonance of my percussion to explore the sonic properties of the different rooms I played in. I essentially used feedback from a microphones placed over and under a drum to ‘sound out’ a space. With electronics I was able to hone in on certain frequencies, emphasizing some or canceling others out, stretching the acoustics of a space like a sculpture works with clay or stone. This concert took place in the chapel of the monestary La Cartuja de Cazalla, a space rich in acoustical possibilites. Much like in surfing, I ride out the sound waves in these concerts, pushing and pulling with the space as, much like the Pacific Ocean where I grew up, the sound surges around me, at times nearly knocking me off my balance or hurling me headlong to crash. ‘For Angel’ didn’t end in a crash, but slowly blended out into the evening, hanging above La Cartuja de Cazalla like a starry cloak.

Surely what drew me to Indonesia was the gamelan. the collection is divided into three boxes and contains six and a half hours of music. the first box consists of two separate performances with percussionist yasudah s. and the dancers susana miranti kroeber and phoebe neville. the second box consists of four performances with the singer and dancer restu kusumaningrum. the third box consists of two performances with the percussionist jalu pratidina and dancer phoebe neville.

DELTA-SLEEP-INDUCING PEPTIDE

“Narkoklang”

DELTA-SLEEP-INDUCING PEPTIDE – Narkoklang
DELTA-SLEEP-INDUCING PEPTIDE (DSIP) was founded in 1989 by Dieter Mauson + Siegmar Fricke. Until 1994 DSIP produced around 25 cassettes, published on various tape-labels all around the world and on the privately run DSIP-cassette-label. The music was recorded with electronic equipment on analogue tape-recorders and cassette-decks in their own homestudios in Hamburg, Mainz and Wilhelmshaven/Germany. DSIP exclusively concentrated on the realisation of experimental + subtle soundtracks which can be described as mind-cinema of the subconscious. The stages of sleep + phenomena of dreams have been musically explored in an idiosyncratic sound-approach. After 19 years of silence a brandnew studio-album entitled “Narkoklang” has been produced after DSIP’s reactivation in 2013. “Narkoklang” contains six sonic movements of very narcotic nature, arranged in complex stereoacoustic fields of floating ambient spheres, micro-organic particles and pulsating rhythm-oscillations. A highly meditative and intense work, exploring the effects of deep + subliminal sound-morphing during the aural process.

Mtu – 97

We introduce you the new album of Mtu, 97 a darker work than the previous one.

It harbours melancholy, memories and rage. An emotional release that pretends to be a farewell to the experienced sullen moments.

Experimentation in sound manipulation in order to convey these feelings is present through the five songs offered in the album.

“teraz, tak!”

andrea pensado – teraz, tak!

andrea pensado works with sound as a performer, composer and teacher. she has been using digital media and live interactive musical systems since 1995. she studied in argentina and poland. at first she composed mainly for acoustic instruments, however, she gradually felt more attracted by different sound realms. today, the abrasive digital noise of her improvisations is far away from her earlier pieces. harsh dense layers of sounds, often interwoven with her voice, combine hybrid synthesis and sampling techniques to create a highly personal sound language, which reflects an intuitive, emotional and paradoxically also logical approach to music making. she currently lives in the united states.

teraz, tak!, her first album for pan y rosas, begins with a solo performance by andrea and is followed by a series of duets between andrea and the musicians: walter wright, davindar singh, adriana de los santos and alexei borisov who provide additional electronics, saxophone, piano and guitar respectively.

“At Dusk I Painted Your Lips EP”

Deftechnixks – At Dusk I Painted Your Lips EP
Just like the last one, this Deftechnixks album was recorded based on Deaf Techniques, this time techniques DT01 (recorded without hearing the recorded track and without looking at the instrument) and to a larger extent DT11 (recorded without hearing the recorded track). This resulted in 12 songs, which, after a long consideration, were reduced to a six-track EP in order to not torture the listener too much. The lyrics were again written based on a stream of consciousness; the title and the look of the cover were selected out of all lyrics by a random number generator, as well as track order. The placement of cover elements were selected by another random generator, a two-year old.

06 – isteronproject – furniture music #14 – cheap soundtrack for daily accidents (1:42)
07 – isteronproject – furniture music #15 (2:49)

Picking up right where the project last left its listeners, furniture music #2 is a high bitrate sequel to the lobit volume 1 released on the SPubsidiary SPTOtfSP (catalog number 011), consisting of all new material except for furniture music #14 – cheap soundtrack for daily accidents, which originally appeared on Hal McGee’s Cheap and Plastic compilation. isteronproject describes its sound as principally what it calls furniture music, “a low-budget parody of the commercial music, inspired by people as residents, devo and, of course, erik satie,” qualified with the further labels kraut punk and cheapadelic. The reference to the Residents feels particularly accurate, especially on the plodding, playful last piece; listeners familiar with the Residents’ Commercial Album will quickly find themselves anticipating the familiar refrain “I wish I was a picnic boy”. Much like the bands mentioned in the genre description, the structure and execution of the songs on furniture music #2 are simple, odd, and quite catchy, with the jovial quality of songs children sing to themselves. In fact, the melody to the song furniture music #13 – corna prendete aria, was first conceived between isteronproject’s Stefano Balice and his cousin when they were children. The instrumentation is also threadbare, consisting of two small Casio keyboards, a small circuit bent Yamaha keyboard, and two Korg pocket-sized ribbon synths. In its very essence, furniture music #2 exemplifies the lo-fi aesthetic, that stripped of complex songs and fancy recording setups, an artist’s true talent and ingenuity can shine through.
