about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Great, Green Stones…

“Works from the Absurd Pool in January”

This mini-album contains created tracks based on field recordings that have been minimally edited with a ‘gate’ effect on Ableton Live. The recordings on this album mainly contain sounds of background noise, the experimentation of blowing into pool noodles to make a horn-like timbre and some other electronic experimental glitches and minimal sounds. This is delivered all in 8 kbps MP3 files, which are all converted to a Mono output. The sample rate of all the files is placed at 12.000 kHz.

Walter Fini + Philippe Neau

“white project”

Spectra collide in synergy in “white project” – the essential result of the continuous collaboration between Phlippe “nobodisoundz” Neau and Walter Fini, which began a few years back. The release comprises of 3 compositions that revolve around the deafening and conflicting relationship that man has with nature, the dominant force and protagonist of our doings. The sounds shine through and envelope our daily lives totally, in a deafening, chaotic way. White as the color, which absorbs everything, which contains everything, wrapped in nothing. White is a sheet, where instinctive sound dimensions take shape, where a simultaneously abstract and concrete vision takes us to the ancestral roots of the human being.

Flooba – Uneasy Immersion

Flooba – Uneasy Immersion
[NN_LP081_01_20]

Flooba

“Uneasy Immersion”

Debut in Nostress Netlabel for italian artist Flooba. The new digital album “Uneasy Immersion” is a work of reverie aimed at joining different places and sound moments that take on significance as an experience of the human impact on the world, or as an experience of moments of existential transition: soundwalking in dilapidated abandoned factories (such as the Keyes of Fiumefreddo – CT – IT); field recordings in condominium courtyards in which micro and macro sound landscapes overlap; slow guitar sessions during the agonizing “controra” in a deserted city. Spatial universes in which silences reverberate to be filled with their own subjective internal vibrations, in sometimes restless sound sessions that try to describe the difficult immersion within reality itself. This work has been presented as live for the past editions of A / Grounds, the Bolognese showcase of labels that deal with Ambient music.

The Cherry Blues Project – On the Beach

The Cherry Blues Project – On the Beach
[NN_LP080_12_19]

The Cherry Blues Project

“On the Beach”

Debut in Nostress Netlabel with the digit album “On the Beach” released in the festive month as far as possible from the theme of artistic work. The Cherry Blues Project is an experimental band of Argentine music and sound art formed in 2001. It consists of two original members who use the pseudonyms Cherry and Blues. The “process” is mainly based on playing and listening carefully to the sounds of the reality. The essential points are the creation of soundscapes and the permanent saving of their auditory memory, sometimes registering on some discs in everyday situations. Each album represents a certain stage. In their huge discography there is the presence of humor, noise, everyday life, play, performance, free experiences, ridiculous, absurd, silent, things that should not be taken seriously, lies, satires, unattainable things, champions of talent, integrity and homogeneity concepts, ideas developed up to the concretion, lack of respect for the ears of others, sound terrorism, contemplations of life, skepticism and at the same time religiosity, contradictions, electricity, disconnection, calm, chaos, free time, conversations and dialogues, violence , etc. Their research is not just about the “musical” side, but they try to generate some kind of reaction in the person who listens to them. One of their influences is the Fluxus movement. This means that the albums must not simply be appreciated for sound, but also by all the work that goes from design to its conception, in some conceptual cases. The Cherry Blues Project is a project born of the visual arts, not the interest in “music” itself, which is why they have great influences or “connections” with the Fluxus movement.

j/j – j/j

j/j – j/j
[gal 0270]

j/j

“j/j”

j/j is a sound work developed by Sydney based artist Jeremy Hegge from a series of materials collected in different natural areas of Queensland, Australia. All tracks – based on field recordings – are site-specific works related with the concept of meditative listening within ecologically complex places, where it’s possible to hear fleeting traces of human activity in a fully nature-dominated soundscape.
The author lead the audience to immerse in a really rich sonic universe through eleven high quality recording pieces, in which the reconstruction of the space and the atmosphere of the sites is totally impressive. All the elements in this caleidoscopic and magnetic sonic milieu are vivid, intense and demanding, challenging the listeners to reflect upon the way we all relate with natural environments through our senses, in an time when the relationship with landscape, soundscape and territory is deeply and dramatically changing.

Notes from the artist after 2 months apart my partner and i met in queensland and travelled into the outback.

Dave Wesley – Fourth Wall

Dave Wesley

“Fourth Wall”

Dave Wesley’s full length aural autobiography covering the last half of 2018, based on subconscious peripheral sonic imagery… the blurry content that selective perception ignores.

What others are saying:

“Listening to this music, I kind of feel like I am a replicant in the rain of Bladerunner, hand twitching as I search for some dry room away from the lights and the wind, knowing I am going to die soon but wanting the heat of the room just the same, just for a passing moment.”
– Steve Santineau

“Just an amazing album…I especially like Tracks 1, 9, 10, 13… (Like Controlled Bleeding meets Ryuichi Sakamoto’s OUT OF NOISE in a film by David Lynch)”.
– David Agasi
