about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Weldroid – Cure Light Wounds

Kahvi #344

Weldroid

“Cure Light Wounds”

“Weldroid is back in the Kahvi fold, and with this 9 track album, he’s back up in the top of the Kahvi releases. A few guest artists make an appearance such as Planet Boelex and Mitoma, and with the ambient and electronic nuances that appear throughout this release, there is something for every Kahvi fan.

Fantastic analogue basslines (Diclofenac and Desloratadine) and ambience (Leaving quietly remix) show Weldroid in a different light – from his usual industrial percussion to a more delicate subtle feel.

Check out Flying Fist and Leaving Quietly for some quality production.” (4T/Kahvi Collective)

MRTN-CSTR – KR0M

MRTN-CSTR

“KR0M”

Martín Castro began composing electronic music in 1992, venturing through different styles and forms as a forerunner in electronic music in the city of Córdoba, Argentina.

Currently, he is experimenting with the creation of his own software, working on patches for Native Instrument, his own “wavetables” and sound synthesis with complex structures in the style of Monolake or Richard Devine, who are his greatest influences. His sound is reminiscent of that of Parsons. Martin´s compositional ideas position him within the current of “Psychedelic Industrial Ambient”.

MRTN-CSTR is his alias for a disc constructed with only his own software: “Synthetic Instrument”.

weldroid – protozorq remixes

[tonAtom.130]

weldroid

“protozorq remixes”

the sequel to the protozorq release (tonAtom.126) is not “just another remix release”.
weldroid selected some extraordinary electronic artists from around the world to create new versions of his original tracks as the logical and artistical continuation of his own style and works.
AN MOKU’s ambient and harsh reinvention of ‘abandoned’ is as unique as jesse simpson’s cut-up version of ‘in my name’. the osch remix of the same original track ‘abandoned’ is a dreamlike, down-beat treat while the same song inspired poliversa to create an evolving, up-tempo drum-and-bass version. ‘morning blinds’ as seen through the eyes of nonima makes you immediately want to dance or at least nod to the beat (depending on your temper), while the beautiful ‘sleep tight’ is resurrected as an ever-changing, almost dubstep-like, almost completely new song.
and if this release was already completed with illl’s inspiring ‘bipolar disorder’ recreation of a more drum-oriented ‘not you fault baby’ it would already be a fully independent and great release. but this is a weldroid release, and he complemented it with two brand-new original tracks, which as a result makes “protozorq remixes” a nine track release of versatility and awesomeness.

Various

“Dissonance”

Finally after months of organising and collecting submissions, the Kahvi VA for 2013 is here. And as its a special compilation, we’re putting it out as the Christmas release for 2013 also. You’ve got a huge amount of styles and artists on this years VA, from 32 tracks combined to over 2.5 hours of quality music. Be warned that the download is hefty at 500MB for the MP3 version, and the podcast is over 350MB itself.

Artists found on this years VA include some Kahvi regulars including Brioskj, 4T Thieves, Polaski, MigloJE, Madstyle and Acrilic Colours and a lot of guest artists bringing some very interesting flavours to the mix. There are ambient tracks along with retro beat driven acid, something for everybody. We hope you enjoy this years VA, and remember the other Christmas releases from 4T Thieves and Reii released last week.

Tracks of choice are too many to mention but for something really refreshing check out Serhio Efremis – Mystery for a real taste of Russia.

Merry Christmas from all at Kahvi!

4T Thieves

“The Expanse”

As part of the Christmas release lineup, I’m extremely proud to introduce my first ever album called ‘The Expanse’. Completed during the last half of this year, there are 12 tracks of completely new material never before released. A few tracks having been lying around my hard disk for a while which I tidied up and included, but the majority were written for this album.

There are a few different styles – drum and bass with an IDM ambient edge, my tribute to the Commodore 64 and a couple of classic 90s techno sounding tracks (similar to orbital or underworld).

Vegas Diamond – Hyper

TWG011

Vegas Diamond

“Hyper”

Trance-inducing and as thick as sludge, Vegas Diamond’s sophomore is a concise record of his great talent. These four tracks meld together aggressive groove with hypnotic melodies, tessellating around a defiant rhythm and pulsating with confident and a unique voice. From the emotive opener ‘Ion’, to the off-kilter and crunchy churn of ‘Visor’, to the vicious beats of ‘Real’ and the final, melancholic laments of ‘Cube’, every inch of ‘Hyper’ feels, simultaneously, eclectically self-contained and continuously conceptual; a constantly evolving stream of ideas.

Stylistically, ‘Hyper’ sees Vegas Diamond traversing the musical ideas of Monodeer and Nullsleep, and setting up shop somewhere in the middle. The melodies are genuinely otherworldly; atmospheric and seeping emotion, cascading over the dense textures that make the release sound so huge, and the beats hit like sledgehammers on concrete, loose but still incredibly strong.

Massimo Ruberti

“The city without sun”

“The City Without Sun” is a concept album of instrumental electronic music. An ideal soundtrack for the kid’s novel by Michel Grimaud ‘La ville sans soleil’. A French novel of the 70s, which in the post ’68 era, tell us about of a group of teenager activists against the pollution of their ‘city without sun’ by an unscrupulous local squire.A book that still has not lost his, though simplistic, message of rebellion and hope. A book to be known, to be implemented, to not forget.

Intelligent Dancefloor and melody, afro rhythmics and obsessive loops, acoustic jazz parenthesis and rare unnatural vocals to build soundless soundscapes. In ‘Static’, edPorth creates nine tracks that compose a balanced album, for succession and flux of atmospheres. With his third solo artist album, second on 51beats, edPorth is back to express completely itself while confirms – as centerpiece of his musical production – the research in loop and cyclical sound.

Wirewound vs. Datacrashrobot

“Xylogic Splitter”

Machines Collide
Coming from the recesses of an obscure computerized coding mechanism, the impossible has happened!
Forget about Cyberdyne Systems taking over the world, the machine onslaught is happening now, in the shape of proto beats emanating from Bucharest’s own Sorin Paun.
Yeah, you guessed it: the electro bursts of Datacrashrobot have probed the aggressive electronica of Wirewound, merging amorphous glitched up machines and obscure textures, struggling against some of the heaviest beat work he’s produced. It’s an always intense, gripping experience through the realms of abstract and thought-provoking electronic music, the binary codes have taken over and all we can do is to allow these electro shocks to please our ears and mind as they see fit.
Prepare not to feel human for a while. Get ready to experience the cyborg transition through the simple click of download. (F.G.)

drmlgcc – treading

tonAtom.128

drmlgcc

“treading”

these are the darker sides of justin james a.k.a. drmlgcc: atmospheric and dense, yet spacious at the same time. three tracks, located somewhere between musical architecture and spontaneity, are the building blocks of “treading”. justin guides us through sounds as diverse as can be. they are at times repetitive and minimal, ambient and floating, experimental and playful. they are organic and synthetic, wild and fragile, and occasionally steeped in krautrock improvisation.

all of this forms the basis for drmlgcc’s sound stories – his slowly evolving, acoustic tales.

it took him quite some time to complete this release, let us spend all the time necessary to be taken away, to experience the three tracks thoroughly.

Transient

“CHIQUESALUNGA”

Music, made deep in the woods.
The big rabbit invites you,
to listen to the sounds of the creek,
the trees and the birds.

This release is impressive in some ways. You see the creek depicted on the cover artwork? It’s one of the artists favorite spots to chill and to create music. He produced all the music in the forest using a tablet computer, making most of the tracks in the stunning forests around the albums namesake ‘Chiquesalunga Creek’.

And the artist is none other than one of the root free Netaudio stars online – Transient. Having released last year on Phonocake as Beat.Dowsing we now connected again to bring you his new seven track album under his original moniker.

And that’s not all! You are invited to remix and explore the tracks! — the source files which can be opened in Sunvox are included – a first for Phonocake. Please send any remixes to the artist and to us. Contact and instructions are included in the Source files directory.

“Orange Mood”

The following EP appeared in my mailbox recently, and so impressed with the tracks that the VA for 2013 has now been moved to a later release date. Tetarise is the artist, you may be familiar with previous releases on netlabels from him. Every release is extreme high quality with some of the finest sounds I’ve heard from a long time.

Orange Mood is a six track EP of such epic quality, I think this will be on your permanent playlist for years to come. Amazing arpeggios mixed in with epic pads and basses create a feel good and certainly mindblowing sound we’ve not heard at Kahvi for quite some time (I think the last EP to do this was Plokcity by Berestez which everybody was taken with).

Track of choice for this new Tetarise fan is most definately Aquamarine, which is just.. fantastic. Enjoy this release and see you next month!

Marc De Blanchard – Activité Animale

D!HR-22

Marc De Blanchard

“Activité Animale”

Activité Animale is an obsessive and heady album organized around nine tracks (and one bonus !) with a crescendo intensity promising a paroxystic transe.

This second opus brings us in a mystical adventure carried by a brutal and heavy bass tainted of an ingenious mixture of stolen animal and sciencefiction sounds. A well orchestrated alternation of organic and synthetic sounds evolving on rhythm form IDM to techno and disco to rockabilly.

Activité Animale tells us about transformation from man to animal, a frightening absurd metamorphosis creating a necessary humility to an open travel where everything is possible. Consider this album as a skillfully build up journey releasing your deeper animal instincts.

In fact Activité Animale is first if all an invitation to discover the « galactic zoo » universe of Marc de Blanchard, kingdom of laser tigers and leopards hearts !
Within this 22nd release, Da ! Heard It Records is promising once again a nice sound and visual adventure. Prepare your grooming to a kicky expedition trough the farthest reaches of your animality.
