about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

GABRIELE RAGONESI – SOME MORE WHITE NOISE

GABRIELE RAGONESI – SOME MORE WHITE NOISE
[IYE25]

GABRIELE RAGONESI

“SOME MORE WHITE NOISE”

We are very happy that Gabriele Ragonesi has chosen In Your Ears as a channel to spread his beautiful music freely. Some More White Noise is a compendium of how you can love music and let it flow in the air. Gabriele gives us a disc full of sweetness and fascinating sound solutions. The genres covered are many, from the lounge to the prog, passing through a very personal and strongly evocative solipsistic electronics.
A passion that turns into love, like the beautiful cover of the disc designed by the Brazilian William Santiago, which makes it very clear what you will hear in your ears.
I have been living in Florence since 1987. I started playing the drums as a teenager and played in various Florentine bands, including Essenza, Ellelunga and Miranda, between the 90s and early 2000s, ranging from an anomalous prog rock, the new wave and the post rock. I hung the chopsticks for a few years, starting again to play alone and to devote myself to home recording around 2005, without live activity, which continues today.
The songs produced for Some More White Noise have been composed, recorded and finished in 2017 with vague references, among others, the album “Islands” by King Crimson, the very first fusion, Brian Eno, the Can and the soundtracks of the 60s films, trying to put together a line that was a small journey and an alternation of different emotions and moods.

Breakup-Party

“Ghosts”

I like the “Pop” this way: When in fact this music is banging in the true sense of the word. Catchy and radical! And together with the fellows Indie and Noise “Ghosts” ranges from doubting fragile to resolute explosive: passionately, unsparingly and glamorously!

notforme! – Small Town Mysteries

notforme! – Small Town Mysteries
[SCL194]

notforme!

“Small Town Mysteries”

“Small Town Mysteries” is a tough one. Conceived during a five hour long spontaneous jam session with a let-it-all-out approach it both harkens back to the artists’ punk-rock upbringing and follows the course set by the first album. The voice is back and the crumpled paper poetry is back but this time with a bunch of fellow Karelian musicians to bounce off of. The result – four songs, oscillating from a gentle whisper to a desperate outcry, disjointed, reflection-fueled but unmistakably notforme!

Specially to the album was written a short story about the adventures on the White Sea

Llankru – Llankru

Llankru – Llankru
[djummi.007]

Llankru

“Llankru”

The magic of the basics

A music: very simple, as present and obvious as the happening round us. Its sounds: Elements in space, which fly apart in uniform motion, without resistance and get together again.

Llankrú masters the vanishing till the dispersal. Just as its opposite: The bang, with which all wants to expand into space from the center with force. In doing so time is relative. And therefore their im- and explosions happen in seemingly endless calm.

The instruments sound like they sound. A guitar, a second, guitar, a bass and a drum set. The musicians have freed sound and arrangement from all the superfluity and potential masquerade. But intuitively, not wilfully. The single sin is the glowing overdrive sometimes. But to this one the blessing was given already.

With all this „Sturz durch Raum und Zeit Richtung Unendlichkeit“ (C. Karges) Llankrú’s songs relate wonderfully. They could be the six episodes of a film, which may work stand-alone, but forge a bridge of a whole narration together.

The narrative power rises with the reduction. That’s the magic of the basics. Everything runs to a point, slowly the sum of the parts emerges and condenses more and more. And than suddenly: Nothing.

Luca Calcagno

Luca Calcagno is a musician in Cogoleto, the province of the Empire, who grew up in bread, music and Genoa. Mostly self-taught, he lives in music, in the sense that he works in a musical instrument store. He is a person like us all, surely with a talent above the average, and you will hear them listening to these songs that are part of the singles. Indie Pop nineties but also much more, through the tradition especially British, but with a strong Italian melody. There are many things in these two songs, those of you a little older will certainly remember the Italian things in the nineties, and it’s where they come from. Luca writes and plays with care, and all this can be heard in his music. Publish this single is for us an honor.
If you meet him do not ever give him a question about who you prefer between Beatles and Rolling Stone. The answer is obvious.

menkenkes

“anfang august ende september”

(…) An album, recorded quasi overnight, when check lists, fault-finder and top producer sleep. Thus escaping forward, handbrake released and handluggage only: A bunch of broke, a fistfull of wire brush chords, a cup of dreamy speckles, the bass unleashed during walking, the drums dashed downstairs with rumble, outside in front of the door after all everything spontaneously and happily exaled with a deep sigh. Pk jazz Collective – Safe From Harm

Pk jazz Collective – Safe From Harm
[Netlabel Day 2017]

Pk jazz Collective

“Safe From Harm”

Песня “What If?”

Drunkeninstrumentcorporation – Always The Same 10 Fucking Songs
[IYE20]

Drunkeninstrumentcorporation

“Always The Same 10 Fucking Songs”

Drunkeninstrumentcorporation was born in Saluzzo in 1998, in the deep Cuneo province, to make sense of boredom, the first engine of provincial life. And to run away from boredom, Marco Abba aka Drunkeninstrumentcorporation invented several worlds, and these are just ten beautiful photos that give us through so many genres, from powerpop to the more classic pop, from rock college to lo fi, but it’s really limiting to talk about genres, because here is the joy of making music and the freshness you’ve heard in some disks and you have not found it again. A true provincial masterpiece

Artem Bemba – Cinealarm

Artem Bemba

“Cinealarm”

Cinealarm – is like you’re sitting at work and suddenly the sirens begin to roar everywhere and on the radio, oldfashion soviet-radio style voice is heard: “Attention! Attention! Cinealarm!”. Then people start panic, although they do not know what to do and it’s unclear where the movie approaches to them. It is not an expensive Hollywood movie. It’s not even the cheap horror of the 80’s. It’s more like some unpopular surrealistic films of not very well-known directors or a collection of short films by these directors.

Bralitz – Bralitz

Bralitz – Bralitz
[BSMX0155]

Bralitz

“Bralitz”

“Bralitz is a one-man-band who plays guitar, drums and percussion, piano, bass, harmonica, ukulele and sings songs he writes himself. He randomly chose the name Bralitz (a small town in North Eastern Germany) for no real reason other than its simplicity and the fact he often goes there to participate in a music festival organized by his friends. Bralitz draws inspiration from classics of various genres, i.e. rock ’n roll, folk, bossa nova, chanson, and manouche, to name a few. Using multi-track recording, he performs all the parts on most of his songs and sings most of the harmonies to his own lead vocals.”

So that’s the official bio. I’ll only add that this little collection of songs packs a melodic punch with thematic ties running throughout. You’ll likely find yourself putting the album on repeat for a while.

A very special thanks to Bralitz for the terrific EP! Welcome to the blocSonic fam!

Ffiper – VESNA

Ffiper – VESNA
[SCL192]

Ffiper

“VESNA”

Monkey Warhol

“EP4”

Born in the late-1800s Monkey Warhol began making electronic music of various sorts, tones, and timbers in 1947. Inspired by Bob Dylan’s loud and abrasive “Metal Machine Music”, Monkey turned to music as a source of income after failed stints as both a zookeeper and dental hygienist. EP4 is HIS take on POP music (watch out Max Martin… there’s a new sheriff in town!).

Mr. Bitterness And The Guilty Pleasures – Songs From The Surveillance Age

Mr. Bitterness And The Guilty Pleasures – Songs From The Surveillance Age

Mr. Bitterness And The Guilty Pleasures

“Songs From The Surveillance Age”

It’s been almost three years since we released the Xtended Edition of the excellent Mr. Bitterness album “The Good Fight” and here at blocSonic, expectations were running high for a new album that’s been in the works for quite a while. Well, with the release of “Songs From The Surveillance Age”, expectations have more than been met. This is unequivocally the best MB work yet. When you first approach it and see the six track count, you’re misguided into thinking that it’ll be a quick listen. Then you listen… and over forty-seven minutes later, you’re left stunned. Randal Helm aka MB couldn’t have been more relevant with the times we live in if he tried. I don’t want to give you any spoilers, but let’s just say that Inauguration Day felt like the most appropriate release date.

At blocSonic we’re working hard to build a platform to help our roster of artists increase their exposure to listeners who truly care about music. In that spirit, late 2017 will see us do more to get our music releases out to even more listeners. However, I can’t help but feel bad that important albums like this won’t be heard by a much wider audience. It’s all at once, well-written, catchy as hell and has something to say of substance. The simple matter is that it should be heard and blocSonic is very proud to release it. So, please, listen and enjoy. Don’t forget to share it with friends and family.

Huge thanks goes out to Randal Helm aka Mr. Bitterness And The Guilty Pleasures for entrusting the release of the important new album with blocSonic!

I wish the recent US Presidential election had gone a way that would have taken us a step toward making the themes in this incredible album a bit less relevant, however, unfortunately, this album became all the more relevant with the election of Trump. No more Balance of Power… Dark Days, indeed.

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!
