Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. Geometrie Variabili – the Breath
The lesson of Steve Lacy: starting from a single element like a scale, a broken chord, a sound, a breath in order to work it up by assembling and disassembling, tearing apart and rebuilding. Fragments of ideas taken freely in an exercise of rearrangement always looking for coherence, always trying to get back to basics.

Claudio Nuñez – End of a story
“I use the same modus operandi for most of my albums (except the ones that are composed): I lay some free improvised moods (usually on rhythm instruments) that serve as the frame or background for the rest of the piece… I call this process ¨real time compositions¨ as I never have any ideas or plans before the actual recording starts… When I feel that the group or orchestral feelings reflect the mood I stop adding new layers or instruments… On my solo guitar or piano sets & albums I do the same, just once… Sometimes I decide that format for the instrument group that is going to appear on the album (a piano trio, a guitar trio= piano/guitar, bass & percussion), do so that all the pieces are going to feature those elements as in real group or just limit myself to focus on one of my main instruments… Little games that add to the music a little more mystery… or (as in this album) I use any combination randomly…” – Claudio Nuñez

“Salty Language”

Tongue Bundle – Salty Language
This work is a tribute to the italian mercury mine of Abbadia San Salvatore. It’s an occasion to shape – both visually and musically – this “epic” element of the collective imagery and milestone of the common history of the community.

This set of paintings seeks, therefore, to harness the aura of the surreal structures, immersed in nature and witnesses the technological past rooted in the mechanics and in the flesh of workers as well.

The music goes inside the structures of the paintings and inside the feelings of the miners, creating a synaesthetic interpretation of the two artistic languages. This soundtrack has been performed live on December 4th 2011 during the vernissage of the exhibition “Acetilene – Sounds And Visions From The Belly Of The Mountain” that took place in the Museo Minerario of Abbadia San Salvatore.

An album to watch and listen.

* Acetylene gas lamp is a simple lamp that produces and burns acetylene which is created by the reaction of calcium carbide with water. It was used by the workers in the mines during the 20th century.

Emiliano Baiocchi is a Berlin based Italian artist who has been working for the last 10 years on developing an expressive visual language mostly through painting. He has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in various parts of Italy, Germany, France. His works are in private collections in USA, London, Paris, Monaco, Munich, Dusseldorf, Berlin, and many Italian cities.
He uses his imagination only to design images that explore painting as a means of pure expression leading to a series of inner landscapes that showcase a singular materiality of accumulated layers of acrylic paint. In his dreamlike images, there is no pre defined intention to figurate a given narration, for he is rather interested in constructing a contrasted space where casualty and accidents are to be balanced with controlled detailed areas in order for a sense of spiritual movement to emerge. He lives and works in Berlin.

Wacky Southern Current – Argonautica
Marco Cervellin, the force behind Wacky Southern Current, returns with his third album on No-Source. Argonautica continues the trend of high quality instrumental albums from Marco. To give Wacky Southern Current one genre is to sell the music short. A wide range of influences fill up each release from Marco. Argonautica is no exception. This is a more guitar-centric album with Kraut influences, particularly on the track “We Are Argonauts.” “French Radio” is a short burst of experimental soundscape, while “Blues in A” is an excellent seven minute jazz workout. Wacky Southern Current heads is new directions with such musicianship that it’s hard to believe they haven’t been there all along. Argonautica is: Marco Cervellin – guitars, bass, keyboards. Gianni “Ian” Garbo – guitars. Giacomo Gatti – drums.

Sergi Boal – Cercle

“A transposition of the soul into sound waves” NetMusic Life

“Cercle” is my most spiritual project. the most introspective. In this little EP the music flows, the themes don’t have any concrete structure, and maybe this gives the sensation of a visual dream, the sensation that you are floating, and you could create images, thoughts, sensations…. Not having a concrete structure, there’s no beginning, no end ; it’s like a circle! All the songs were recorded in one or two takes.only with a nylon guitar.
The music was almost improvised, except the theme “NILS” that was a rework of the pianist Nils Frahm, from one song of his album “Screws”, trying to “move” the sounds of his personal piano, to the guitar..
I recorded this EP with Hector Xiqués ( I/O Estudi de Gravació, Barcelona),and we tried to give that especial sound of the guitar, with some delays, and reverbs.

Zeus Scientist – Zeus LP
ZEUS LP is the first collection of sounds that were discovered by the Zeus Scientist Research Group, led by physicist Eric Rogers at Princeton University from 1942 until 1971. The twelve sounds which can be heard are in chronological order, dating back to the 19th century. Strange as it seems, ZEUS LP follows musical structures that were completely ahead of its time. How could these sounds be made? Who made them? And why would someone do that?

“Silenci”

Sergi Boal – Silenci
This is my second Cd. After “Nylon and Turtle”, that was only guitar, I tried to experiment with other instruments and other musicians. In the work “silenci” I composed for trumpet, for cello, oud and voice, but always with the sound of the guitar like the principal instrument. “Silenci” reflects a mood, a declaration of intentions, in this convulsed times. The first notes the work, a Oud solo ( Origen, played by the Oud Player Yannis Papaioannou), it’s a metaphorical way to say that the music is a spiritual thing, and you have to sit down, cease your minds, and only listen to. i think you will need to listen this work during a Sunday evening, in the dawn, during a raining day or just when the house is almost in silence. Like the last word in the David Linch’s film Muholland drive:..”silence”…. My intention is summarized in the words written on the back cover (translation from the catalan language):The silence is the origin
The absence of sounds
The silence is the utopia
listen the silence, not the noise.EL SILENCI ÉS L’ORIGEN
L’ABSÈNCIA DE SONS
EL SILENCI ÉS LA UTOPIA
QUE EL SOROLL NO ENS
IMPEDEIXI ESCOLTAR EL SILENCI

Coming from Toon, a small Japanese town which belongs to the Ehime province, Hitoshi Asaumi delivers very unexpected sounds when compared to contemporary beat culture. Leedian disguise has been around for two years now and listening through his work one can find it difficult to categorize his music. From extreme noise, he switches fast to melodic pop backed by organic beat, then quickly back to the extreme noise .
There is an inevitable innocence deriving from his tracks, mainly with regards to their length. His music feels like an “arranged marriage” of the punk approach to composition with experimental electronic sounds. The result is rewarding and raw sounding. Jazz and electronic influences melting together in a chaotic doom-sounding noise.

A realization of the power of existence and dreaming, this record tells the story of that character realizing that without an audience, a catastrophe is short lived. So eventually. it is up to him to stop fueling the fire.

Nature

“Forget The Theory”

Nature – Forget The Theory
“Forget The Theory” features two arrangements and five original pieces written by Kevin Higgins for his group Nature – a quartet with voice, electric guitar, electric bass and drums. The material was honed in a dozen live performances, then recorded over two days in spring 2012. The result is an album of dark grooves, mixing techno, funk and dubstep with contemporary jazz.

In the foreground, ethereal vocals and frenzied guitar carry on an improvised dialogue. “Forget The Theory” captures the energy of their alternating conflict and cooperation. Behind them there’s tension of another kind, as club-inspired drum beats threaten to melt into jazz cross-rhythms.

This album was built off basslines: some abstract and symmetrically structured, some just funky. Either way, every tune was designed to make you nod your head. Enjoy the bouncy pulse and powerful perfomances of a young band playing with passion.

Nature is:

Georgia Cusack – voice
Chris Guilfoyle – electric guitar
Kevin Higgins – bass guitar
Tommy Gray – drums

All compositions by Kevin Higgins except “Hard Time Killing Floor Blues” by Skip James and “I Remember You” by Victor Schertzinger and Johnny Mercer. Lyrics in “Mic Check” by Kevin Higgins. Lyrics in “In The Techno Tent” and “Extraordinary Vibe” by Georgia Cusack.

Recorded by Michael Buckley. Mixed by Shane Glynn and Kevin Higgins. Mastered by Scott Halliday.

the olatunji duo (txema fernandes and tomás gris) began playing together in 2000. their first recordings were improvisations for alto sax and drum. they have continued to play together when they can. this recording was made in asturias where txema lives with his family. as a duo they are interested in ritual and improvisation which provide the basis for a dialogue between the musicians and their environment.

on their first album for pan y rosas they use various percussion instruments; wind instruments; and the sound of their environment – friends and family, water, wind, bonfire, etc. all these elements combine to form a bridge between ritual and improvisation. objects. night. voice. wind. sparse. rattle. quietly passing through the gateless gate.
