about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Dj Malaït

“Everything’s Right / Wrong”

Dj Malaït is a Russian producer based in Barcelona. Better known as ZebaKnizel for his work in the offline meeting point collective, where he releases most of his tracks.

He has performed (and still does) alongside several bands of different genres, but his interest in electronic music grew a lot in the last two years and currently he’s fascinated with experimenting and mixing different patterns and genres. His style is influenced by IDM artists, poly rhythms, and wandering harmonies.

This particular release was created with the intention of mixing all sorts of latin percussion vibes, adding some more electronic elements, and some rhythm complications that might make the listener count each beat before dancing confidently.

Kanz – Remind Me Tomorrow

Kanz – Remind Me Tomorrow
[mhrk272]

Kanz

“Remind Me Tomorrow”

Kanz (real name Kaloyan Gavrilov) is a techno and experimental electronic music act hailing straight from Lyulin, Sofia, Bulgaria. He has notable releases and appearances on labels such as KOMPONENTI, Audio Avantgarde, WTF is SWAG and Vivus Records. He is also known for his collaboration work with Cyberian (on Amek and WTF is SWAG) as well as being a part of the now cult duo 80s Clash (with Dickie Slavkov) and the very promising project Lesnik (with SuB).

“Remind Me Tomorrow” is not one’s usual album and the tracks on it are not one’s usual album tracks. The release formed and (Kaloyan insists) should be viewed as a collection of always in progress works, created to be used as tools for Kanz live performances. Yet, some of these “tools” are already hit tracks, starting with the Kanz debut on Mahorka on the compilation album “Eastern Depths Vol.3” – the breath-taking track “Mindless” in 2016. “Restless” followed on “Music for elevators vol.5” in 2017 and in 2020 “Conditions” came out on the epic “Eastern Depths IV”. Yet, “Remind Me Tomorrow” works fantasticly good as an album.

Released May 30, 2021

All music by: Kaloyan Gavrilov, except: Track 12 – remix by Dimitar Vassilev

Pátí na světě – Jupiter Carousel

Pátí na světě – Jupiter Carousel

Pátí na světě

“Jupiter Carousel”

released June 1, 2021

This album about obscuration through aesthetics is based on a sentence that claims that people cannot use beauty to get to “the bottom part of the Earth”.

Originally a quartet, now a trio, Pátí na světě delve into the lands of sirup-covered strings sections.
They prune their way through these sticky thickets to more and more choruses that get so easily lost by the campfire.
Long before the pandemic, the lyrics to “Gulliver” included the term “deniers”, half-forgotten at the time, hackneyed and overused today.

The album’s message is the following: The world as we know it is breathtaking, even without beauty!

dvidevat x Nulla – 068/078-1

dvidevat x Nulla

“068/078-1”

“Inspiration found between four walls: a new and exciting package of electronic music on a split digital release of two young music producers”

dvidevat and Nulla are among the youngest Ljubljana-based electronic producers. Electronic music culture is what drives them: they both started as DJs, researching different types of electronic and non-electronic music and DJing in many clubs in Ljubljana, and both evolved their listening skills as electronic music producers through institutional and mostly non-institutional education. The split digital release 068/078-1 presents their first longer music work and unveils their musical influences, which inspire them again and again and give them the drive to re-enter the four walls of their studios and their favourite clubs.

The split digital release seems to be a one-piece album, but attentive listeners will find a clear line between the two prominent electronic artists. The joint release may paint their music similar, but it also shows their differences. Where dvidevat tends to develop the sound of the Detroit old-school electro and short but memorable melodies, Nulla progresses with darker UK experimental electro with a touch of breaks, IDM and bleep. It’s clear that they… more

nocniptak.cz (in Czech and English)

Noční pták (Nightbird) was formed ten years ago as a project of Luboš Fidler and Zdeněk Konopásek. Luboš Fidler is one of the most important and uncompromising performers of the Czech alternative scene. As a bass/acoustic guitar player, he was founding member of alternative rock groups of 1970s and 80s, such as Stehlík or Švehlík, he played with MCH Band, Kilhets etc. In early 1980s he was involved in the minimalist-experimental trio Janota-Fidler-Richter (together with Oldřich Janota and Pavel Richter). Zdeněk Konopásek was drummer of the early and late 1980s band Dvouletá fáma. He also played, e.g., in the Dr. Konopný Quartet (together with Joe Karafiát, Jan Štolba and Radomil Uhlíř) and also collaborated with Oldřich Janota. Currently he is involved in theatrical-musical performances of Divadlo Vizita and, as a second drummer, in the band Fish, Flesh, Field & Henry $. Occasionally, he plays solo on his drum set. The two are joined, in recent years, by a “permanent guest” Štěpán Pečírka (Vyšší popular, Kolotoč theater, Richter band).

The album “I am healthy and things are going well” is based on live recordings from rehearsals and home concert that took place in summer 2019. These recordings were revisited and reworked into original compositions by Luboš Fidler in early 2021.
Fidler explains the title of the album as follows: The phrase “I am healthy and things are going well” (or: I am healthy and fine) was pre-printed in all languages of Austrian-Hungarian monarchy on postcards sent by soldiers from the trenches of the First World War. This album can be understood as a flare fired from the trenches in which we have been for more than a year in 2020-21.

Coletivo NSLO – Sururus Perdidos

Coletivo NSLO – Sururus Perdidos

Coletivo NSLO

“Sururus Perdidos”

Sururus Perdidos presents instrumental compositions by Heitor Oliveira, performed by Dario Rodrigues Silva (piano), Gina Arantxa Arbeláez (flute), Renan Simões and Sabrina Souza (guitars). With significant independent artistic and academic trajectories, the musicians join forces for a collaborative endeavour that result in a series of phonographic releases, of which Sururus Perdidos is the second.

Sururus Perdidos presents three pieces from the authorial repertoire of the Collective NSLO. The duet Novos sururus and quiprocós de um convescote chumbrega contain fragmented narratives: a game that flutist and pianist build from collections of more or less obsolete materials. The duet Tudo é perdido quando o desejo fica repartido, for a couple of guitarists, sonically stages the drama of ambition and its consequences. In Desfotografia, structured improvisation for a quartet, it goes like this: “you remember and then… more

Coletivo NSLO brings together a group of musical creators and performers who reside in different regions of Brazil. The letters of the acronym mean north, south, east and west and represent the diversity of where the musicians come from: Palmas (Tocantins), Caçapava (São Paulo), Cali (Colombia) and Mossoró (Rio Grande do Norte).

The genesis of the group took place at the post-graduate program in Music at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, where all the musicians did or are doing their doctorates. The group came together due to personal and artistic affinities that culminated in the sponsorship by Rumos Itaú Cultural of a two-year project to create a new repertoire. To do this the group carry out activities open to the public, in recitals, workshops, round tables, among others, as well as experimentation, rehearsal and production within the collective. The artistic goal was the gradual creation of an original repertoire based on interaction, expressive potential and experiences shared by musicians.

Through a project selected by the Rumos Itaú Cultural 2017-2018 program, between November 2018 and February 2020 Coletivo NSLO performed at various locations in Brazil and Colombia. The repertoire of the group was built and refined during these trips. In 2020, the sponsorship of Banco da Amazônia made phonographic and audiovisual production viable

Chango Dada – Trimate

Chango Dada – Trimate
[pn186]

Chango Dada

“Trimate”

Eclectic is the delivery of Chango Dadá for Pueblo Nuevo. Divided into three tracks, the album “Trimate” navigates between affable aspects and other mysterious or even rough to some extent. The opening track, with a textural nature, threads the sounds and gestures in a cinematic way, moving between electroacoustic textures and instrumental motifs of piano and clarinet among others. On the other hand, on the second track, there are materials close to an ‘indietronica’, where the language is based on the tonal and melodic keyboards. The final track returns to constant rhythms through shapes and colours close to an IDM where voices and colors are superimposed, sometimes from connotative sounds and others from more abstract textures: here the field recordings play a timbristic and sign role, especially the voices and the semantic content presented.

“drop shadow on airport runway”

This soundwork’s starting point is in the heatwave evenings of June 2018, in the south of France, when the heat made sleep impossible.

It is constructed like a soundtrack for a video movie where a narrative process is directly generated by airport public cameras. Timbres, intensities, pitches and rhythms « drop shadow on airport runway » and offer a perceptual immersion, guided by microphones, open to our habits and our dreams.

This musical piece was originally presented during the JeffersonParkExp 2020. You can see the live performance here: Jefferson Park EXP November 15, 2020. Set 2. Nicolas Tourney.
