about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

“Songs from the Event Horizon”

Welcome to the fictional journey of “singularity observatory” by Doc.AtmosfearCrush.
It is set at the near edge of the Event Horizon of the supermassive black hole: “Saggitarius – A”, at the heart of our very own galaxy home.

This album is the first part of a diary-storytelling, collections of emotions and observations. A deep look inside the heart and mind, under the influence of that gigantic gravity experience.

From indietronic, noise, industrial, dark ambient to electronica – enjoy the ride!

Mono o Estéreo?

“CLICS”

Formed in January 2016, the duo “Mono o Estéreo?”, made up of Loreto Ríos Montecinos and José Toro Concha, released their debut album “Clics” in December 2017. The band, which had only published a few demos on their Soundcloud account, with the release of the single “Iguales Distintos”, increased their presence in specialized media, which gave them the confidence to unveil the rest of their musical proposal.

The album, with 6 songs and 38 minutes long, exposes the personal songbook that José Toro Concha created between 2007 and 2015, to later give it its final form with the production of “Mono o Estéreo?”, also with the participation of Diego Gilabert Valiente, Pablo Muñoz from Janeiros Estudios, Diego Ridolfi, photographer José Moraga, Carolina Cue Silva and Francisco Holzmann from Clio Mastering.

“Clics” went on sale on digital media such as Bandcamp, iTunes, and for listening on streaming platforms, such as Spotify, Apple Music or Deezer. Now, with this reissue in Pueblo Nuevo, it is available for the enjoyment of all those interested in this attractive combination of electronics and avant-rock.

About the surface of the album :
At the beginning of rADio eNd we were blindfolded, now it’s the fourth release and perhaps it’s possible to guess the vision behind, on one side the non exclusive model as an experiment to mess up the unhuman system which enslave us mostly with the property blackmail. On the other side to get ride of any bonds to seek what kind of music can be release when the process of its birth is really free.
I think that digg the influences is as unrelevant that take care of this music being recognize for what it is. It’s up to everyone to make their own dream…
More important is that each of fourth members involve in brought their own univers, melt them to get this psychoactive cocktail.

Muflon Dub Soundsystem – In Love With Righteousness
[DPH049]

Muflon Dub Soundsystem

“In Love With Righteousness”

Muflon Dub Soundsystem is a musical project from Poland, delivering positive Dub and Roots Reggae inspired sounds since early 2000s, with a modern approach, lightweight harmonies, heavy drum and bass lines, simplicity with a touch of poetry, creative ideas with conscious message.

The album In Love With Righteousness is a compilation of their best Dub tracks, recorded between 2005 and 2014. We can hear the evolution of their style and some of the most characteristic features of their sound (mellow vibe, steady riddim, catchy basslines, thrilling vocal lines). Most of the tracks of the compilation are included in their previous releases, which are available for free through their webpage and also on their Jamendo and Bandcamp page.

The album includes also Showered Ina Jah Jah Rain Dub, a previously unreleased Dub version of the tune of the same name, appearing on the album Everland. Actually, many of the songs from this compilation have their Reggae counterparts with mellow vocals and conscious lyrics, to be found in different past releases of Muflon Dub Soundsystem. What they all have in common, is the message: got to be in love with Righteousness!

All tracks written, composed, produced and mastered by Muflon Man

Vocals by:
Muflon Man (3, 6, 7, 9)

avantgarde in electrics

STRöHM combine experimental music (avant-garde ambient drone) with free improvisation and create imaginative sound structures from it. Novel sounds, rhythmically underlaid, expressive, dynamic, then again impulsive with romantic elements, are the musical result of the mutual interplay.

Fields Ohio – Litha

Fields Ohio – Litha

Fields Ohio

“Litha”

While searching for the light that kills the bacteria
they found a light that reprograms the cells,
a light that rewrites the souls,
and a light that travels nowhere
except it’s everywhere.

And while they were at it
they had to consider proportionate
quantum integers that existed
on the other
side of the worm hole,
-)))That swirling mass that spins faster
than the speed of any light
so quickened by madness at onehundred&eightysevenmillionmilespersecond that it traps
light and anything else in sight
in order to deconstruct, to pull a part the atoms and reconfigure,
like the mouth of Pluto
sucking our dear Persephone into the crust
into the depths of the earth itself,
the blackness was all consuming
til her mother scorched the soil with revenge
and Pluto freed her but with some leverage
to bring life back and repair the burns and then in winter she returns.
Her sacred release brings our pomegranate
lips that yearned for Spring bliss,
a well intact rite of atonement
earned in the winter drifts for those who survive it.

So do the blackholes too transform and release the
light to some flipped compartment of space and time?
Do the particles ride through and bring light to
another side?
These were the questions they began to ask
as humanity looked back with a vast flabbergast,
they had exacerbated the fresh water which all life has a constant need,
the land became void of air giving trees,
all beginning with the lust for greed.
But we have not done this, you and I nor my neighbor down the street,
How can we be held responsible for changing the way we all see?
And then as though a light bulb had gone off above them,
everything clicked. Our old ways must be swallowed by generations
who detest the exploitation of the needy. The future is only foreboding if we allow for
the greedy to succeed.
The darkness must transform the light and in this yinyang eddy
they found their peace.

Various Artist – Spettro Audio Collectif

Various Artist – Spettro Audio Collectif
[SR233]

Various Artist

“Spettro Audio Collectif”

“Just when I thought that Spettro had been a failure all along, after 11 years during which I only grew grey hair and haven’t achieved anything worth mentioning, I realise how important this “small place for unconventional music” has been in my life and has shaped my identity, my friendships, my life project. A life project that will pay absolutely zero in terms of monetary gain, but which has gifted me with a community and a network of people who I have the privilege of calling friends before anything else. And this network has not only benefitted me, it has indeed grown bigger, tighter, sometimes breaking apart then tying even stronger knots, spanning over 11 years now, across countries, beyond borders, generations, culture, race and gender. Spettro has brought people together, firstly thanks to a shared passion for sharing unconventional music, but most importantly as equals.

Looking back at this project, the oldest record of it I can find on my hard drive right now dates back to March 15th, 2020, but the origins of that file, a simple looping hypnotic beat by Luca, go way back, years if not decades. He had shared it with me just days before the pandemic hit. It had been sitting on his hard drive for years and decided to send it to me to see if I could do anything with it. Then by February 23rd 2020 all activities deemed unnecessary by the government had been shut down, as was Ikigai Room, where Spettro was based. March 1st saw several Northern regions falling into a red zone and by the 9th all Italy was under lockdown. Soon after most of the rest of the world would follow. By March 15th that long forgotten drum loop had been finally edited by someone else. We then decided to start a simple project where friends would contribute to someone’s sounds by simply adding layers. Not editing or manipulating each other’s contributions, but just adding to them.

I started thinking about the people I could involve, most of whom were forced to stay home like everybody else. But this was not a project born out of boredom, but from the shared urge of doing something instead of wasting away in front of screens. It felt necessary, it went beyond the pandemic, beyond borders we couldn’t have otherwise crossed, as time and place didn’t matter anymore, neither here nor there, under this siege or not: we were doing something together. Regardless.

Omar (First Catatonic Ensemble, River of No), who originally introduced Luca (A Distant Shore, Oracle, Tiny Drones for Lovers) and me, was the first to get involved, then Angelo (Filtro, Billy Torello, The Great Saunites), a good friend and Spettro contributor and amazing musician. Akis from Kοκκαλα with his uncanny and sardonic haunting imagery. John Duncan, who needs no introductions and was ready to help. Elvio (Bisso, Las Laplaciens, Shiroi Noizu, Dir Richter), with a sweet glimpse of his life in Osaka, enriched by the sounds of Naoki, who I had shared a stage with 14 years ago in Tokyo, where I also met Toshihiro (Circe) whose wonderful music I will never forget. Ghobi would provide few majestic notes, River of No contribute with an extract from a track that never was, until now, Giulia (SorHe) and Martina add nuances we would have never been able to otherwise understand.

The project was completed on March 1st: a whole year had passed in which little or nothing had changed, just more sorrow, misery, anger and despair. Endless streams of music and writings being published during and about the pandemic. The pandemic as a transformative experience. But this is not a pandemic album, even if it is, nor was it transformative for us, as the friendships and collaborations helped by Spettro had been there all along, growing stronger during these 11 long years which I had at times given for wasted. This work proves otherwise. It tells a different story, a story of joy in the mist of sorrow.”

Thet Liturgiske Owäsendet

“Selected Sleep Sudies”

‘Sleep Studies’ was a creative process spanning over 100 days from August 13th to November 21st, 2020. Inspired by themes like sleep, dreams and nightmares, one track per day was produced and uploaded to YouTube with an accompanying video.

“Working on this project we strived to find our way back to a means of production based on spontaneity and also allowed us to distance ourselves from the final product by removing afterthought and overproduction anxiety.”

‘Selected Sleep Studies’ is a collection of 11 tracks, which represent a morsel of the 10 hours of music that is ‘Sleep Studies’. A long rest awaits.
