about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

The Gold Miner's Tusk – Days in the Hive

The Gold Miner’s Tusk

“Days in the Hive”

A Netlabel Day 2022 Release

The artist invites us into an experience of pure drone and to imagine ourselves perhaps as we might be on an omni-biological level: individuals under the sway of waves of sensual stimulation and response in a Great Link.

Words from the artist:

“Days in the Hive” parts 1 & 2 are the title and concluding tracks from the forthcoming album by The Gold Miner’s Tusk.*

An audio speculation of what human life would be like if lived ‘hive-bound’. Here suspended in the bees’ complex atmosphere of neural extremes, all human perceptions of scent, sound, texture and taste require an adapted form of sensory equilibrium.

*A collaboration between Wood Ship (Keyboards and production) and rakerman (Cello and electric guitar)

Tracks:
Days in the Hive Pt. 1
Skeps
Apis Mellifera – Only The Females Sting
Propolis
In The King’s Garden

Codes&Notes – Rebound

Codes&Notes – Rebound

Codes&Notes

“Rebound [Mix]”

Progressive house/trance/techno is on the playlist, mixed live on my MX-8000 for everyone’s listening pleasure. We start with “Yesterday’s Hopeful”, a dance-y house track from my EP “Yesterdayland”, followed by the happy and beautiful “A3”, before moving slightly into trance territory with a favorite of mine: the gorgeous “Plazma Kluster” by Tanto. We continue alternating between beautifule, emotive tunes and darker tracks (the “rebounds”). All tracks I love and play quite often: Sasha Muller’s “The Book Writer”, Roger M’s “Photon”, Micronoise Paranoic Sound’s incredible “Feromono”, Max Cavalerra’s amazing tracks and remixes… Until we get to Manu Bermejo’s exceptional “Monsieur”. Things get serious from there, as we enter the more techno-oriented part of the mix (expection made of Indi-K’s “d’Aubergine” maybe, which tends to the tech-house imho).
Play it loud, play it everywhere, and most importantly enjoy it as much as you like!

Mixed live on my Denon MX8000. No edits, just some mastering on the final result.

Most of these tracks (if not all) are available on the Internet Archive (wink wink), and a couple are from the wonderful Broque label (www.broque.de/ – major respect, dudes!)

Electrohollyc & MO.

“My Cosmos (Mahorka Reworks)”

MO., an artist who sings, composes, produces and releases wave and electronic music almost exclusively on his Invitro Independent Music label, a Depeche Mode addict from early age, also heavily hooked on all styles of dance, loving pop, listening to rock and totally into life after death, Love and Eternity, has been born (in the distant 1976), living and working in the town of Pleven, Bulgaria, somewhere in the countryside of Eastern Europe, just where the Mahorka netlabel happened to be headquartered. At the dawn of the new millenium, back in 2002, Mahorka had just appeared online as one of the first netlabel pioneers, while MO. released his debut single “Edinstven” (“Only”), which quickly became popular on all radio stations in Bulgaria. Pop diva Maria Ilieva took part in the project, and the remixes on the CD maxi single were produced by the already cult porno_BPM electro pioneers KiNK, SuB and Kei, as well as by the Nu Ages duo, Second Body (Emilian Gatsov) and alternative band SKRE4. After a four-year hiatus, MO. returned with the double maxi single “Loveblaster”, featuring an important bunch of names from his native Bulgarian underground scene such as COOH (Ivan Shopov), Kenogo a.k.a. Ogonek, Second Body, Music Sound Machine, DeckStarr, Paul Legend, Dope Buzz, Victor’s Mob and of course the biggest, today world famous in the dance music scene, KiNK – it was his remix of “Loveblaster” that became the first Bulgarian song broadcast on Fashion TV, as soundtrack to the documentary on the avant-garde designers of Bulgaria. The musical journey of MO. continued with “It’s No Good / All The Time In The World” (A Tribute To Depeche Mode) released in 2010 – a double EP with a downtempo chillout part one (mixes by Pixszels, Ghostwheel, Dope Buzz) and club mixes part two (Monophonique, Paul Legend, Dr. Scissors, DJ Smoke and Dope Buzz). Next up was the ‘Foe Foe’ project that came out in three separate EPs with remixes from Gravity Co., Diass, Alessandro, Anton Pau, FaAXA, Lu40, Help Me Jones, Protuberance, Monophonique and Phil O’Davidson. In 2017, in collaboration with Grooveman, MO. releaased the EP “Dirty”, also with a brutal remix by Charlie (Les Animaux Sauvages). 2018 is the year in which another collaboration with Lu40 followed, the single “Don’t” plus remix EP featuring Alexander Waltz, Alessandro, WildSoul.

Fast forward to 2021, Mahorka was going stronger than ever, including with the very special Netlabel Day collaborative reworks releases each year, while MO., an international popstar already, unveiled a new project with the producer Electrohollyc, premiering the hit single “My Cosmos”. Soonafter MO. and the Mahorka label boss Ivo Petrov were convinced that this is the track to get the Mahorka reworks treatment, a longstanding idea and dream of both of them, after 20 years of friendship and numerous common collaborators. A rollercoaster of killer reworks was assembled and released on Mahorka for Netlabel Day on 14.07.2022.

“wintersongs”

A Netlabel Day 2022 Release

A tabula rasa of sound.

A sinister wind emanates from the cracks, tundra, and ravines of an ice-covered ocean world; the harmonies of long-petrified seas are only found now in an ancient seashell’s resonance.

Or perhaps the relentless tones can shock us into awareness of the electrical pulses weaving and stimulating our brainwaves, via our headphones and through our networks, to a shared resonance of infinite applications.

About Access Frame:
The series of compilations titled Access Frame aim to present a wide spectrum of local alternative music (with emphasis on electronic and experimental music) that has found its safe haven on the internet. The never before encountered entwinement of technology, society, making music and ownership rights has been causing a serious conflict between free culture and the outdated and exploitative concepts of copyright. Adhering to the spirit of free access, online labels are the first in the struggle for equal access and a more fair copyright (facilitated by the introduction of the Creative Commons license).

About Netlabel Day:
In this spirit we are supporting the annual celebration of netlabel culture every July 14th. Every year labels participate and release free music releases specifically for the event to support the initiative by M.I.S.T. Records in Chile and curated now by The Seattle Star.

Cutside & Trey – Tripoholic
[BSMX0216]

Cutside & Trey

“Tripoholic”

So who are Cutside & Trey, you ask? Well… actually… you may already know these guys. You see, back in 2020, Andrey Martinchik (Cutside) & guitarist Andrey Kruchko (Trey) released their tasty electro EP “Cyberfunk” as MBX. Today for Netlabel Day 2022 with “Tripoholic” they arrive with a new project and a unique new sound.

A hybrid of downtempo and 60’s guitar rock, Tripoholic’s three joints are all you’ll need to be hooked! Enjoy the sonic grooves.

Cutside & Trey, thank you both for preparing such a tasty EP for Netlabel Day! I look forward to hearing more.

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!

“The P.U.C.K. Crew Presents Da Molsen Twinz: 3 Bags Short Of A Bender”

So, yo… I think the fine folks of P.U.C.K. who as their alter-egos Mary-Jane (Pot-C) and Hashley (Long John) aka Da Molsen Twinz have decided to make releasing music part of the blocSonic Netlabel Day tradition. At least, that’s what it looks like to us! You see, last year they released their dope debut album “Maximum Awesomeness” and today for Netlabel Day 2022 they return with their incredibly dope EP “3 Bags Short Of A Bender”, which like the preceeding album was in the works over a number of years and you’ll learn more about in the PDF liner-notes.

Anyway, what we have here are seven joints packed with that same rock and humor injected hip-hop that you got to know last year. If you don’t nod your head or laugh out loud at least once, well, you probably need to listen to it again… and again… and again. Hell, even if you do, you’ll listen repeatedly… I’m quite sure. Enjoy.

Mega thanks to Long John, Pot-C and all talented collaborators for the dope jointz you made happen for this Netlabel Day! This EP is SLAMMIN’.

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. For Example John – Welcome to the Johnnverse

For Example John – Welcome to the Johnnverse
[Wuerfel34]

For Example John

“Welcome to the Johnnverse”

Slapstick, spectacle, riot, downhill, electro-bruzze, party, always firmly on. That’s how we imagine the Johnnyverse, to which For Example John invites us here. A classic second album, more of everything we love, one step further, everything a bit bigger and wilder, the next level. That’s the way we want it. All our expectations are satisfied. Hell Yeah.

And yet, and yet, and yet…

Every now and then, lines of lyrics stick in our ears for days. “Everything that bothers us now, has to be destroyed long ago”. Our speech, already for years, funny that still nothing has changed. It’s because of “the capital”, of course. And maybe also because of the “bread and games” for which we are always too happy to drive our dreams against the wall. Anyway. “Look at my super flat screen”. None of this bothers us, because we are, after all, the “generation with the retro shoes”. And we hope that this can help us further.” It’s all not so dramatic, we know where the ball is in our court. Even if we have long since lost the laughter of our childhood. And at some point, saving the world will somehow work out. Until then: Party on, party hard.

In this sense: Welcome to the Johnnyverse.

P.S.
I love you.

P.P.S.
But sometimes you stink.

Joan Jordi Oliver – Transit

Joan Jordi Oliver – Transit

Joan Jordi Oliver

“Transit”

“During the time in which I wrote this music I happened to travel a lot. I gathered many impressions from these journeys – pictures and recordings, faces and voices, ephemeral moments, fervent emotions – that I craved to freeze in time and retain forever. My second album “Transit” is an attempt to capture these impressions in the form of music. It’s an exercise of memory, or maybe some sort of personal diary transfigured into sound. The materials I collected, especially the field recordings, charged with meaningful memories of people and places, have become an essential part of this work and have allowed me to construct a genuinely intimate narrative. I strove to write a blurred story told by the distant voices of friends and loved ones, to arrange a chaotic mosaic of contrasting impressions, or to build an imaginary space constructed from fragments of real places I have been to. This artificial reconstruction of memory, the obsessive and futile effort of holding onto emotions that inevitably will slowly fade away, gives a new dimension to the music, created from fragmented motives that try to breathe beneath a dense fog of noise and distortion. Organic and artificial sounds, analogue sources, and digital processes are combined in the creation of a complex but emotionally engaging sonic space, while the more transparent structures support the narrative character of the music and create some sense of perpetual transition. Transit is an ongoing journey with all the emotions it carries – excitement and fear, denial and acceptance, uncertainty and hope.”
