about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

xenoton

“crescent”

it has taken more than 5 years until a new xenoton release is finally completed. with a total length of only 21 minutes, the work resembles exactly the format of the original tonAtom releases, which were designed for 3″ cds. six tracks combine dark soundscapes and xenoton-typical, melody-focused electronica miniatures. six studies between stylistic development and continuity with the previous releases “traveller” (2015) and “in a world of lights and glass” (2013). an additional bonus is the crescent-artwork as wallpaper for the background of your computer desktop and in full size as a printable poster

Autonomaton – The Underwater Fires

Autonomaton – The Underwater Fires

Autonomaton

“The Underwater Fires”

“The underwater fires” is a conceptual EP, revolving all around Autonomaton’s love for the underwater life and rivers, seas, oceans and aquariums. That’s a passion shared with the Mahorka boss Ivo Petrov, so you can guess that this release has been long time coming. In the tracks one can hear actual sounds from real fish (not mammals) captured and presented in very experimental ways. All tunes were produced on a computer but analogue equipment such as a Korg and a 303 machine were utilized in the works, sounds played on/from which were recorded and reworked. All overdubs couresty of Nikolay Stanchev. One of the tunes is actually performed totally live, manipulating the already reworked loops.

This EP includes 4 original works and 2 special remixes by dear friends that further complement the release. The overall style here might be considered to be from experimental dub to obscure dub techno, as the artist himself describes it, but each track takes us on a totally new journey. The remixes are by Abu Ama – a pioneer of the sufi dub sounds and by Virtually J – the computer music pioneer in the Varna region, that started producing music on PC in ’94 with trackers and other audio software, and has been a huge inspiration and support for the regional scene, including for Autonomaton and Mahorka, ever since. Both remixes take really different sound paths from original tracks, but still are made with the thought of being coherent parts of the release, thus making the whole EP even a more colourful and interesting, completing a magical journey through the Earth’s waters and underwater life… Enjoy it loud!

Jose Miguel Candela – Rezos

Jose Miguel Candela

“Rezos”

The following collection of prayers intends to establish a kind of intimate, microscopic, deep kinesics, an inner “small dance” that opens up introspection, meditation and / or contemplation paths. It is important, therefore, to consider that this set should not be understood as a religious production. Tao Te King (foundation for Taoist philosophy), insightfully states in its XXVIII epigram that religiousness is only an appearance of loyalty, but destitution of a real spiritual dimension.

These prayers represent an austere act of ancestral memory, an attempt to voice out a compound of elemental imagery found in many worldviews of the most diverse aboriginal cultures. It is incarnated through singing (an embodiment act) in order to share a willingness to connect with something I consider essential, something we cannot name (for by naming it, it is undone), the ancient, irrational core of all things living. Because of this, I invite you to listen to these pieces not as a work of art, even though they live as musical sound (not electroacoustic this time, but appealing to ambient music). The invitation is, through listening, to build up that bridge (pons + ifice, the bridge builder) that connects us and that primal, atavistic footprint living silently inside of us.

Five years after a homemade, very limited first release, I share this digital-only, free-download reissue via Pueblo Nuevo Netlabel. It is a small gift, looking forward to accompanying (us), one way or another, during these complex, critical (political, social, health, spiritual) moments we are going through as a planetary society.

Brioskj – When new feelings come

Brioskj

“When new feelings come”

Brioskj has been appearing on Kahvi for many years, usually a track here or there on the annual VA, but this time, due to having plenty of time on his hands due to the current situation, an entire EP arrived in the Kahvi mailbox. Cheerful, bouncy, and perhaps the beginning of summer, ‘When new feelings come’ is a delightful, easy to listen to six track, that sparkles in the sun.

WHΛLTHISИEY RECOMPOSED

“Thisorder”

The music of Whalthisney is a solitary soundtrack to nowhere, a non-tourist map into the unknown; music and images to create new, fully immersive environments, an intriguing aural pilgrimage with no destination in time and space, nuances and labyrinths. Whalthisney selects and mixes music for the mind and body in the same quantities that emerges from encounters between the past and the present, drawing beauty of the commonplace, wiping, polishing it, giving it life again, so to produce the same effect of the original freshness and spontaneity, a mirror that transforms it absorbs and reflects.

SMILTZO – A LIFELONG QUARANTINE

SMILTZO – A LIFELONG QUARANTINE
[IYE38]

SMILTZO

“A LIFELONG QUARANTINE”

A collection of electronic paintings, suffused, decisive and revealing, an opening of the veil that imprisons us. Exciting and never obvious, it ranges from the ambient to the purest electronic music, conceived by a superior musical mind. Longlife Quarantine is good beyond this period we are experiencing, and will give you lots of emotions.

The titles are in Sanskrit. the most perfect and musical language we have, and this work is connected with the whole just like the oldest language.

Smilzo (aka Francesco Monaci) was born as a guitarist, but develops around the age of 20 his passion for the enormous compositional possibilities that software and electronic music in general provide. For about twenty years he has been part of the electronic pop songwriting band Liberal Carme (initially only as a guitarist, now also a singer), which has three assets, and in which they have collaborated with exponents of Italian indie music such as Paolo Benvegnù, Alessandro Fiori (Mariposa) and Massimo Fantoni (Marco Parente, Andrea Chimenti).

Since 2000 he has collaborated on soundtracks for Lorenzo Pecchioni’s Video & Archeos project, and produces music for other exponents of the Italian underground video scene.

As an electronic music composer he does not rely on a defined genre, but ranges from suggestions ranging from Apex Twin to Andrew Lloyd Webber, going from World Music to the noise of Einsturzende Neubauten, considering electronics only the means of expression that in the new millennium he exponentially expanded the compositional possibilities once reserved for symphonic music.

MR.SMiFF – 5SSENCE

MR.SMiFF – 5SSENCE
[mhrk242]

MR.SMiFF

“5SSENCE”

Absorbed in music for about 20 years, with many solo and collaborative releases, MR.SMiFF is continuing to experiment with various musical forms and styles. He is deeply immersed in observation of feelings, emotions, psychology and behaviors, in constant search of new means of musical expression, through old and new technologies. “5SSENCE”, his debut release on Mahorka, is inspired by the alchemy and recent personal experiences. The music has been influenced by and bears the same name as Neda Ruzheva’s audio-visual-dance performance, for which MR.SMiFF performs the music live. The five pieces follow the alchemical processes and correspond to different elements and senses. Through the use of slow and trippy ambient movements, the composer tries to freeze the time or delay moments indefinitely, with the glitchy twists and surprises interfering as result of unexpected and compressed reactions of the unpredictable interfusion of the “elements” – both in alchemical and psychological aspects.

Biocym

“Narrow Slopes”

Artists: Biocym [Andria, Italy]

Format: Digital
Release Date: May 4 2020
Cat: ST015

Biocym is an artistic project from southern Italy that seeks to awaken emotions by expressing its feelings towards reality and the use of atmospheres and scenarios reflected in its sound.
The main nucleus of his work reflects the attitude that man must embody in order to move in a dark and inscrutable reality that he must face when he inevitably explores it.

Biocym represents the way in which the artist approaches the way of awakening in himself by contemplating the infinite variety of landscapes of reality and proposes his progressive deepening.
His music is the meeting point of his two influences: natural sounds and those other sounds generated by his creativity.

“Riverside of Uji”

Late-night mystery abounds in this enchanting new single from Brevyn.

Words from the artist:

My current projects are under various delays, so here’s something from my backlog (January 2018). I was inspired by the look of city windows late at night and early Mount Kimbie.
