about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

[Self Release ]

Wings of an Angel

“Philistine Troubadour Forgot To Discover The World”

Musing over the threshold of time,
I was an endless azure horizon
Crying out in ecstasy on the wretched earth;
Endless inspiration had forsaken our thorns

Desolate mountains with a philistine angel on top
The heavens’ pale lights terminally wielding;
White scapular with odorous jasmine wings,
Must undress of
Lush glimmering fire.

Innumerable blazing hallucinations;
The grey earth with its fathomless midnights
Forsaken and drunken of the blues
With a white philistine angel expiring above lesser fields – – –

Reality is the biggest enemy we’ve ever had.

“Laments of a Chess Automaton”

John Novak – Laments of a Chess Automaton
Laments of a Chess Automaton is the newest work of John Novak, whose turned into a Kahvi regular it seems.

A ten track album with a large array of different styles, deep basses and airy beats in Brightly lit shores to the muted and subtle Sixty Dragons. Listening carefully you could understand a few influences such as Tangerine Dream and Air but also some of the classic electronic work from the 90s.

Heck, there may even be a touch of some older Chemical Brothers in here somewhere, so listen for some pretty serious beats and tight basslines!

Tracks of choice for me are: Brightly Lit Shores, Sixty Dragons and Ganymedean Factory Visit with its cool lounge feel. #

From Jhansi, India, this fresh and gorgeous chillout-ambient-downtempo release is incredibly enjoyable and almost palpable. It brings to mind a perfect combination of the worlds of Ulrich Schnauss and The Album Leaf.

“La Casa Del Drago”

Phobos 3 – La Casa Del Drago
Dragon has its place, where the music becomes material and breathes playing. The new work of Phobos 3 is a journey from old coordinates to regain what we have lost. La Casa Del Drago is the second work of a triptych that will unfold as the culmination of a great power. A very delicate music and totally out of our dimension.
At the top as at the bottom, in a timber as in one quantum.

Home is where the power of the Dragon has its place, where the music becomes material and breathes playing. The new work of Phobos 3 is a journey from old coordinates to regain what we have lost. La Casa Del Drago is the second work of a triptych that will unfold as the culmination of a great power. A very delicate music and totally out of our dimension.

“Drei- und Vierstimmige Interventionen & Polymorphe Vivisektion”

Svann Langguth – Drei- und Vierstimmige Interventionen & Polymorphe Vivisektion
Over a couple of months, Svann Langguth soldered numerous electronic tone and noise generators and finally packed them in lunch boxes (Tupperware, anyone?). Therein, boards with the following chips are used:

40106 Schmitttrigger / 4093 Quad NAND / 4006 18-stage Shift Register / 555 Timer IC

The recordings are experiments with DIY tone and noise generators, with Svann working systematically, exploring the unique features of the specific circuits of his lunchboxes on a track-by-track basis.

Track titles should be understood according to this classification, and consequently also the separation into part A and B. A number of rhythmical and enriched Bass’n’Noise tracks are mixed in between pure complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor tracks.

The release is conceived as a classic double album, with two covers, two titles and two chronologies regarding the tracks on the respective album. Please consider these chronologies.

CerebralAudio is proud to present it’s first ever Netlabel Day Release: Into The Rift: Volume One!

Several months ago we put out a call to the netlabel community for submissions for a new compilation. And, we were stunned by the number of people and group that chose to support this effort. Initially, we hoped to create a solid, single-disc length release (about an hour in length). However, this release grew and grew until it became a three disc (3.5 hours) length release. By then end of the submissions thirty artists form around the world submitted works for Into The Rift: Volume One, and have made it into a diverse and eclectic listening experience.

Stephen Briggs

“Hypnotique”

Stephen Briggs – Hypnotique
We’re happy to offer you the new Stephen Briggs concept ambient release with the usual shoegazish taste, out for the Netlabel Day 2016 special event.

In “Hypnotique”, the vast landscapes we were used to, here enlarge their borders, thanx to the artist’s skill in depicting sonic panoramas with his guitar, effects and looping.

In these five long tracks you will experience relaxed arpeggios and harmonies chasing eachother through textures of guitar pads that dilate our senses. And more, reversed phrases, roaring distant low-pitched notes as rumbling distant thunders, powerful reverbed and distorted riffs and chords.

There’s much stuff in this five steps that are simply titled I, II, III, IV, V, a magic digit sequence of a time-warped pendulum…

So sit back in your favorite armchair in front of a sunset, raise the volume, or take your full range headphones, click “play” and listen loud, relax, take a deep breath and count slowly from one to five and soon you’ll be…

Yan Terrien

“Music For Corridors”

Yan Terrien – Music For Corridors
Yan Terrien comes back with this second release on Sucu Music talking about the suspended atmosphere of hospital corridors.

Music For Corridors magnificently renders that sense of waiting. Each track infact shows the multifaceted aspects of a waiting in a hospital corridor, whether it is you waiting for your own fate or one of your loved ones is.

A waiting which sometime is trustful, powerless, serene, hopeless, heroic, hopeful. It’s a music that’s plenty of intense feeling and emotion, it’s a music that empowers the listener to understand further dimensions starting from lucidly observating details, common objects, views, as the songs’ titles suggest.

The album is mainly piano based, melody and harmony of each track develops accompained with light synths sounds and textures, quirky noises and low distant voices. The sensation is just like if our thoughts were focused on their own, barely distracted by what comes around.

We’re very happy to present a release of a great artist like Yan Terrien for the Netlabel Day 2016 special event, wishing him to present us more and more music in the future.

AVOIDANT – AVDN
Drone ambient album by AVOIDANT following the them of the substitution of reckless passion for reclusion, the loss of drive to be intimate and the consequential manifestation of madness through anxiety. We’re dealing with visions of a perfect body, absent, above all: intangible. There is, although, a time for everything, and rising from the depths seems possible.

“Start with the River”

Faex Optim – Start with the River
This time last year, Faex Optim released an album for Netlabel Day 2015 (Mercury) and this year, once again to coincide with Netlabel Day we have a brand new nine track album by Faex Optim entitled ‘Start with the River’.

Igloomag describes Start with the River ‘Collecting tranquil interludes gone astray, broken childhood samples, psychedelic undertones and kaleidoscopic colors colliding in blissful accord, this is where Faex Optim resides. A place where corroded percussion, fragmented melodies and disjointed harmonies swirl in cohesive unity.’

Faex Optim once again gives us an amazing release drawing of strong influences from Boards of Canada, and every fan of Mike Sandison and Marcus Eoin will be blown away by these tracks, Ennet House and Moscow School being two favourites for this fan.

“Azure Bell, Midnight Well “

C. Reider / Tarkatak – Azure Bell, Midnight Well
Collaborations with Lutz Pruditsch of Tarkatak seem to have an extremely long gestation period. When we first collaborated on The Druser Pricid, the recording was completed in 2000, but not released until 2003. The same is true of Azure Bell, Midnight Well. Lutz and I exchanged sources long enough ago that I completely have forgotten when it was. The sources sat for a long time, unused. Then music began to take form, then the unfinished mixes sat for a few more years. I determined myself to get the mixes finished sometime last year, only to find that my contact info for Lutz was out of date, and he no longer has much internet presence! I finally sent the masters to him in April 2016 and we agreed to go ahead with this release. Our first release together has always had a lot of admirers, I hope this one also finds receptive ears. ////////

All sounds on this release were manipulated, arranged and composed by C. Reider, using sound sources provided by Lutz Pruditsch.

Into The Oblivion

“Lost Connection”

Into The Oblivion – Lost Connection
