about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Fauxhound – This Is Not A Game, Boy

[TWG002]

Fauxhound

“This Is Not A Game, Boy”

For our sophomore release New Zealand’s Fauxhound delivers an emotional mixture of spoken word musings with noise and drone influenced chiptune, which sometimes strikes out with flourishes of dub inspired grooves and shimmering summery sounds, all of which are tainted with the black paintbrush of Fauxhound’s now trademark desperate depression and pessimistic self-worth. From the circus ground twinkly melody on the outset of ‘AIRPORTAL’ to the immediately confrontational vocal interludes, ‘This Is Not A Game, Boy’ melds familiar and seemingly innocent sounds into a medley of dark and dank sadness.
With influences too far, wide and convoluted to list or name, Fauxhound’s sound is a truly unique one, inside and outside chiptune circles. Taking to the piggy tracker this time around, Fauxhound’s pallet of melodies and styles grows ever larger and tainted by his own keen sense of the macabre-sounding, and this release definitely sounds like his most definitive, defiant and expressive output to date.Tracklist:
1. Vocal Interlude 1
2. FOR
3. MATAKIRI
4. AIRPORTAL
5. COLD
6. Vocal Interlude 2
7. BRAINS ($noregazZzm remix)
8. Vocal Interlude 3
9. BOY ET AL
10. Vocal Interlude 4
11. BAGLADY

Paolino Canzoneri – moto verso

[NN_LP022_08_12]

Paolino Canzoneri

“moto verso”

If the country is all over the burial culture, Palermo falls in degree zero, an underworld from which it’s clear as it’s impossibile to return, and not only for genetic inability of programmatic “experts”, but also and especially for a local malpractice, an anthropological tare that reveals, on one side of the spectrum the absence of impulses, and on the other side disastrous dynamics of an ache managed power, where the most good which has the scab and where everyone – absolutely everyone – suffer from unexplained elephantiasis of the ego. Paolino Canzoneri, with his Nostress Netlabel, appears as a dysfunctional element in the actual city (and not) context, where it’s possible to track the constitutive elements of the art pour l’art and the few (or a lot) of a job down in the shade, among lines of escape and subversive glare, that seems to flirt with a lopsided sort of ontological anarchism, de facto ever found in all of his productions. Of However, it known , the medium is message. In this sense, his latest work, in the hub of six hypnotic tracks, co-opts the refined (re)discovery of a d’antan sound , with thirdworld fascinatings à la Talking Heads (middle age) and kraut on multiple levels , where the electronic frontier is given a limit, just a little bit ahead of the vanguard. It’s not difficult to came across, while listening, to a multitude referential ranging from Ektroverde to Future Sound Of London, passing trough Kraftwerk and to return at the end, always, to Paolino Canzoneri… A release that once would have said ‘sincere’, regardless of market dynamics (of any market), figuratively out in the month and day (August 15), as he says with a sly tone, “less marketable of the year.” Long live and Nostress.

Sauce – Fathoms Only Hope

[e4g019]

Sauce

“Fathoms Only Hope”

Sauce once again brings us some of the most underground gospel music on the planet with his track, Fathoms Only Hope. It’s downtempo in nature, featuring a variety of synthesizers, natural sounds, children’s African chants and glitch noises. Towards the end of the track it heats up with Sauce’s signature heavy sound.

Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Rotorro – Yscape

Rotorro

“Yscape”

A VKRS Netlabel Release : Rotorro Yscape The Diaries of Christina Mancini

Behind the Concept

“I have and always will be a dreamer which is maybe why every once in a while I wake up after a remarkable one and I actually remember it. The dream that inspired this piece occurred in the waking hours of 30th July 2012 and made me realise it was a story I’d been writing, through my more downtempo tracks, for many months. So it was just a case of picking up the pieces, putting them together in the right order and filling in a few missing gaps (as well as putting it into a context, verbally).
Dreams don’t have to make sense but sometimes they’re so real they nearly do…this was one of those dreams (with a few temporal anomalies to gloss over).
The album, conceptually telling Christina Mancini’s story and hence the essence of the dream, is available as separate tracks or as a mixed version for free download.”

Ivan Black – Genuit Machina EP

[brhnet22]

Ivan Black

“Genuit Machina EP”

A machine is a tool consisting of one or more parts that is constructed to achieve a particular goal. Machines are powered devices, usually mechanically, chemically, thermally or electrically powered, and are frequently motorized. Historically, a device required moving parts to classify as a machine; however, the advent of electronics technology has led to the development of devices without moving parts that are considered machines. This work explores the making of machines musically, using their sounds to create feeling, ambience and rhythm. A series of electronic parts to flow and move like a created, imagined machine.

“Deus est Lux I”

//Release Date
August 2012

Deus est Lux I is the first track of what should become, God willing, a series of tracks, perhaps similar to the peacemaker series. Deus est Lux I is a peaceful journey through a sonic soundscape, filled with calm rivers of changing harmonies. This track is a result of an eager desire to create sounds that journey to the edge of unchanging, peaceful solitude.

1 John 1:5 “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.”

fiocz

“Dyssomnias”

fiocz lives in Zurich, Switzerland.
He works with modular synthesizers to create a contact through his music aphasia, artificial beta wave stimulations that produce contractions and slow body movements. Since environmental noise is persistent and inescapable, a significant proportion of the population is exposed to it.

Thuuooom – remix, repeat

[thump310]

Thuuooom

“remix, repeat”

‘remix, repeat’ is an ep where original rock songs have been transformed into unrecognisable ambient/noise drones. These remixes come from the same sessions that gave birth to Thuuooom’s second full-length, ‘Uinua’, and continue his ambient explorations into deep aural space. This record closes the fourth creative cycle of Thuoom, the so-called spring cycle, which also gave birth to above mentioned ‘Uinua’ as well as ‘re:EP’.

Hielo En Varsovia – Hielo En Varsovia

Hielo En Varsovia

“Hielo En Varsovia”

Hielo en Varsovia was born in Madrid in 2010 crossing the dark talents of Narcoleptica (guitar) and the interest of ex-members of 8bits To Die, Ki (keyboard and vocals) and Buddy (drums and vocals), to explore other areas in his new musical project.

The noise accompanying their anguished melodies creating landscapes closer to the subconscious that in real life, opting for a sound that mixes the new/dark/cold wave, with its obvious post-punk will.

His first album with us is the same name and contains 13 songs full of abyss and sulfur. A prodigy.

Paul Wady – The Terminal Beach

[LOR025]

Paul Wady

“The Terminal Beach”

A soundtrack to the J G Ballard short story.

Linear Obsessional’s first release of synthesizer music (but our second of music related to the work of JG Ballard see LOR010), Paul Wady’s haunting and austere work took something like 30 years to reach fruition. Finally recorded in 2009 “The Terminal Beach” is as strange, emotionally void and as powerfully compulsive as its subject matter

“I found many ways out of this nihilistic world of the early 80s. But it left me with a great deal to express, and for me the only way to do it was with musical instruments cold and mechanical enough to do it” – Paul Wady (from the accompanying notes)

Release comes with detailed 18 page A5 PDF booklet of notes and photographs by the composer.

Leithal – Atonality

[HAZE150]

Leithal

“Atonality”

Leithal based in Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland. Making music for a few years.
It’s the music of differences, a mixed bag of tunes, sounding like a compilation album with no central thread just the knots of sound patterned in a coherent way, sometimes working out. Sometimes sketches of ideas which in themselves are legitimate and complete. Eclectic or random? As the drum machine of eternity reaches tentatively towards one of many infinities, a pattern may emerge. Or something.
Once and only once described as the bastard offspring of Jean Michel Jarre and Aphex Twin.
Anyone want to adopt?

We are proud to host the first online release by Regina Burbach, a german sound artist based in Bremen. Burbach presents a two-track album full of field recordings and foley materials. Both pieces presented can be heard as a soundscape collage from different locations, sites and places. The two compositions are a very good example of the way Burbach understands as soundscape composition and its usage as musical material.

Efficient Refineries – Crustacean Welt

[NN_LP021_07_12]

Efficient Refineries

“Crustacean Welt”

“Crustacean Welt” by Efficient Refineries has been electronically generated during Miguel Ruiz’ visit at Pharmakustik-studio Germany in May 2012 (located at the seaside of Northgermany). The album contains six improvisational soundscapes that involve the complete hardware-and software-equipment by M.Ruiz and S.Fricke who collaborated in an almost telepathic state of mind. The album offers six morphological pools, constantly changing and overlapping in their crustalogical details and an acoustic collection of small or microscopic sound-events, including algae and protozoans floating and drifting inside the stereo-panorama. Beside the deep organic quality the album also involves autotrophic rhythms that were modified by modular plugins and embedded into the subaquatic whole. The time for phytoplanctonic mind-cinema has begun.
