Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

“53:38”

sound collision alliance – 53:38
sound collision alliance is a group of three composers who were brought together by their shared interest in exploring the world outside the western classical conservatory style of sound creation. the three composers – darren bartolo, sam krahn, and sarah ritch – rarely discuss melodic or harmonic structure before playing. instead, they use improvisation as a means to investigate the interplay of sound. they experiment with the spatial, harmonic, and chronological elements of sound in order to create a forum to experience vibrations and resonance in an uninhibited environment.

53:38 is the first album from sound collision alliance and was recorded in one session over the course of 6 hours. the sounds created range from pure spontaneous noise to repetitive rhythmic grooves. in addition to guitars, cello and laptop you will also hear gu zheng, guitars, cello, and slinky.

“Modernists Attack!”

Kritchev vs. Ban meet The Egg And We – Modernists Attack!
Since the early ’90s, Kritchev and Ban dabbled in home-taping (and also engaged in collecting and listening to all kinds of music), and later joined forces for joint action. Kritchev vs. Ban, taking as a basis the principle of no music / no instruments, essentially positioned themselves as amateurs, non-musicians who use their love to the sounds and the easiest ways of sound as a starting point of his «creative» activity. To create the records used household radios — radio-gramophone, amplifier, tape recorder, microphone, TV, music player, player records and CDs.

“Aparatos que Median Entre la Realidad y el Hombre”

Uma Totoro – Aparatos que Median Entre la Realidad y el Hombre
There is a city whose environment is the sound, a city where the noise is permanent, where the noise is traffic sound.

A place where the sound of silence hurts, where time seems to run for his life.

That run was stopped at one point, there.

Where? When?

No one remembers but I do. This happened in the year 2010. That season two men took their bodies to the same area and spread the sacred word «flash». Abra and Fran removed letters and redefine the flash, to leave it as an expression of a body, of an indescribable dream, of a sound named as: Uma Totoro.

U.To was borned in Buenos Aires, when a new government took dependence of the city. This yellow empire put walls and fences, while Fran and Abra mixed beats with patterns of keyboards and strings. U.To.: programming, guitars and keyboards. Gov: fences and patrols.

The soundscape recreates the noise to return it to the bodies in a beat, a beat that hits the chests and floors to remember that the sounds are outside and inside.

The Totoro landscape pushed the noisedance experience to the stage, and produced an anesthetized dance by the noise (or an anesthetized noise by the dance?).

2011 made the metaphor true, the dance of the noise arrived at a disc. Five songs, break the noise, to hear it; break the beats, to smooth them. Five noisedance pieces, if you hear them, you will be able to pronunce: Uma Totoro

2012 broke the truth and brought the doubt ¿do we actually live surrounded by devices that mediate between man and reality? 6 songs run through sound interference and guitars as frames, or infinit networks, spread along to the beats, beating, dancing. How many mediations are?

Gently Annoying is the latest album by galician artists Xesús Valle. We are glad to receive this collection of complex compositions based on analogue and granular synthesis.

This new instalment on Valle’s investigation take the listener in a tour around different scenarios where field recordings are tweaked until irrecognition and granular synthesis is used a moulding tool over soundscapes and a few works by J. S. Bach himself.

“The Distant”

Eric Jackson – The Distant
A voyage into long-form composition. All sounds are produced with guitars and use a 13 Limit Just Intonation tuning. The piece builds off a drone of a harmonic series chord making use of the 7th harmonic. Fragments of the chord play over it while horn like passages play through a series of just intonation pitches. Deep in the background, complex chords called “Nova Chords” generate a solid unshakeable foundation. As the song progresses, microtonal and fretless guitars guide the listener towards a dual cycle of a scale pattern and arpeggio. The song ends on the swelling and culmination of chords featured throughout the piece. The instruments used were a custom FreeNote 12 Tone Ultra Plus 7 string guitar and a fretless 7 string guitar.

exercise is a collaboration between leonardo amico and leonardo belardinelli. leonardo amico is a laptop noise improviser with combustione & liberazione and runs the zine/music label orgonomy records. leonardo belardinelli is a former guitarist of the black metal band visceral delirium.

on their first album for pan y rosas, amico and belardinelli recorded a live improvisation session with a guitar and drums. the guitar was later removed, leaving only the drums. leonardo amico then used a laptop to process the drums live. the result is two long tracks of free drumming moving in a stream of consciousness loose narrative flow. sparse high-pitch microbeats and subtle sounds furiously torn into pieces. distorted, multi-toned, multi-layered, spun in every direction.

Fundido is one of João Ricardo’s (aka ocp) many projects.

Through it, he revisits his death metal past (with cult band Gangrena) and gives it a twist. Here, grinding guitar sounds flow into drones in a doom like atmosphere.

This is the second release for Fundido after the debut “Profundo” for EdP [EdP030]. Experimetal (yes, metal), if you can handle some heaviness…

This full length album is like its predecessor a chaotic 80 minutes time bending journey. The pieces define a new genre that could be called tick hop: time warping astral space sounds, quirky thrill’n’bass rhythms that were put through a time machine and crisscrossing sounds of ticking clocks and ringing bells.

Apsis Lappet

“The Fear of Farewell”

Apsis Lappet – The Fear of Farewell
“The Fear of Farewell” is Apsis Lappet’s third release and second full length album. These nine songs are nothing less than face melting, tripped out, synth infused, pop music. Apsis Lappet has always been experimental in nature. Fans will be happy to know that “The Fear of Farewell” pushes new boundaries, contains many catchy hooks, and experiments in pop song structure. This album shares some sonic similarities with Apsis Lappet’s debut, “Suite Happy Sweet”. The track “Quickly Slow Me Down” has an infectious chorus, and an excellent keyboard solo outro. “Orgy” is a mellow, distorted fusion of heavy guitars, piano, and far-off vocoded vocals. The title track is builds with a simple chant into an instrumental crescendo. “Rejected” is a remixed version of an unreleased track. The Jenova 7 remix gives the track a heavy does of downtempo breakbeats. The album winds both up and down with “Anaerobic”, a short musical track with a long outro of static, radio hiss, and experimental electronics. “Hidden Track” closes the album with a melancholy piano ballad. “The Fear of Farewell” is Apsis Lappet’s most cohesive and mature batch of songs yet.
