Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

GMS/FBW – Vol.3

GMS/FBW – Vol.3

GMS/FBW

“Vol.3”

“The longing for (inner) silence leads the/our being(s) to take the(ir) sound to the outside, exposing it/them as a natural/peculiar/idiosyncratic happening.

This sound is also influenced by collective unconscious – i. e. a global < > local society.

What are we to find in this transcendental process?: all/nothing, a receiver/Pandora’s box, feeding back this inner space which happens to be mute(d).

What are we to do if Monserrat Bustamante Laferte came out of the blue? Our amazement would allow this silence to expand in space-time, procrastinating an explanation.

All these processes/experiences/longings turn this album into a snapshot, a here-and-now portrait, a possible chart for adventurers, uncertain for our recent past, stamping our existence until the end of silence.

For this is no comfort zone approach: neither pop nor tape music nor free improv, but all of them instead, a García Canclini-like hybrid, pointing out an emerging possibility for our countries.

Who are these people?

This makes it even more interesting: deeply rooted in crossover practices, GMSs play cumbia on Monday, jazz on Tuesday, and experimentalia on Wednesday.

Martín/Benavides (M/B), one of the most outstanding musicians nowadays, accompanying Chilean acts such as Francisca Valenzuela, Chancho en Piedra, Los Tres, and many others. He is also a great performer in an extremely complex and mesmerizing instrument, such as the theremin.

Gerardo/Figueroa (G/F), composer and musicologist, participant in several Chilean underground scenes and venues from early on: radio shows, such as Musiclaje, and Pueblo Nuevo en Conexión Social; producer of singer-songwriter Camila Moreno’s early recordings. A sui géneris ol’ skool, chatting freewheelingly and unhamperedly with newer generations.

Seiten/Wall (S/W), young composer prone to challenging audiences with unconventional ideas and practices. representing the twilight zone where all sounds and formats meet. At present, he is also a board member of Comunidad Electroacústica de Chile (CECH).”

M.A.K.T. Sono

“‘UNK”

Since their beginnings in February 2018, M.A.K.T. Sono (Magali Albespy and Kecap Tuyul) have been experimenting with different set-ups and ways of playing. Amongst them, they like to play both on the same instruments / set-ups in the same time. It’s what they did on ‘UNK.0, an improvisation played on a no-input mixer. The other tracks of this EP are electronic compositions by Kecap Tuyul and Doedelzak using this improvisation as only sound material.

Face à face, épisode 2, saison 1, the new album of Ayato is the 2nd part of a cut-up recomposition series recorded and mixed at La Ferme Là, Olivet, France between 2015 and 2017. It consists of playing in real time two tapes with two different multitrack recorders, which gives 4 stereo sounds side A in normal play and side B in reverse added to others sounds played depending on which way the wind is blowing with the others devices. Some Loops have been created during the mixing process. Cassettes are from private collection, gifts, prepared and found tapes, archives…

[Eg0_202]

z(xW+yV)

“3×2(1W+18V)”

z(xW+yW) is a solo project of Kecap Tuyul started spring 2018 while experimenting different ways to generate low volume feedback with small gear : for instance with one contact microphone and one 1W battery-powered amplifier. It was initially thought as lo-fi version of the “Failure Circle” project work with chaotic feedback system of the no-input mixer in a more portable way, but finally took a quite different direction, with a more tactile & acoustic dimension.

3×2(1W+18V) is the first published album of this project. It was recorded in june 2018 with lo-fi means (cell phone and a cheap digital recorder). Each track is a mix of two improvisations played with the most primitive form of z(xW+yV) : one contact microphone, one 1W battery-powered amplifier and two guitar effects (overdrive and equalization).

M.A.K.T. Sono

“11 Songs”

M.A.K.T. Sono (Magali Albespy and Kecap Tuyul)’s second album « 11 songs » is made of selected and edited improvisations recorded during the “M.A.K.T. Sono (sans sono)” residency at Le Magasin – Laboratoire de permanence chorégraphique (Mathieu Heyraud) – Saint-Etienne – November 4-9 2018.
Since their beginnings in February 2018 the duo has been working with modular set-ups that are likely to provoke unstable situations (like the soundbox, analog synthesizer and no-input mixer used in their first album “If you were a clarinet”). This time they played with microphones, voices, analog synthesizers, and small battery-powered amplifiers, forming a modular set-up whose elements can be interconnected in various ways. They also experimented the integration of some song-material in their improvisations.

Art & Technique – 071617182018

Art & Technique – 071617182018
[D!HR-39]

Art & Technique

“071617182018”

For its 39th release, Da ! Heard It Records gives birth to a new alchemy.

As an emblematic figure of the French alternative scene of the 70s and 80s, Bernard Filipetti has been heating up his analog synthesizers’ circuits within the band Camizole along with Dominique Grimaud, and with his solo project Art & Technique. Raw, industrial, and without concession, Bernard’s recordings of that time resonate among those of a new generation of mavericks, whom he discovers with enthusiasm at the heart of the Parisian musical network of Rue des Gardes. He then surrounds himself with Mathieu Habig, the energetic drummer of Guili Guili Goulag and Spoliature, to fire up his machines during the Merguez Electroniques festival in June 2017. This memorable concert is the origin of the present cassette, born from the spontaneous invitation of the Da ! Heard It label and the arrival of Ravi Shardja, (GOL Couloir Gang) into this new formula.
For three days, after strategically placing mics and ventilators in an overheated cave in Porte de la Villette, the formation of varying geometry cans nearly 12 hours of material in July 2018. From these largely improvised sessions arise unpublished sonorous structures, marked by the canicular atmosphere of the place.
A true celebration of the alloy of complementary personalities, the saturated cloths gradually ignite the speakers to reveal the sustained play of Mathieu Habig. Synthetic volutes briefly appear and melt into these long compact shores, as if shaped directly in the material. In two of the four tracks on the album, Ravi Shardja’s bass brings in a krautock flow to add to these stretched out compositions, extended and forged compulsively in the heat of this underground studio. Reminiscent of the various sonorous strata machined at the forefront of this percussive assembly, the sleeve that accompanies this production was conceived with precision by Pia Mélissa Laroche. Inside, the magnetic tapes that capture the vivid energy of these sessions give a fair idea of their concerts and invite to a collective frenzy.
Thirty years after its debut, Art & Technique reinvents itself with tribal rhythms, obstinate bass lines wrapped in a dense, psychedelic, and perpetually boiling electronic.
