about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Spiedkiks

“Mary Poppin’ Medicine”

It’s been just over two years since we last heard from our German friends, Spiedkiks. In that time they’ve been hard at work preparing today’s fantastic release, their new album “Mary Poppin’ Medicine”. Thirteen tracks deep, it takes you on a sonic journey through trip-hop, rap and beyond. Although hard to categorize into a genre, it’s a memorable selection of songs that you’ll find yourself returning to over and over.

For this one they decided to reach out to a few friends to help make the medicine happen. Folks like our good friend Pot-C (from Cheese N Pot-C) who lends his vocal dexterity to not one, not two… but THREE songs. Donnie Ozone also stops by to drop rhymes over beats. Also lending a hand are Niki Jäger, Johannes Hehrmann, Martin Bogren, Jero Castella & Thurgood Bartholomew. Last, but certainly, not least, Josh & Juliette from Louis Lingg & The Bombs, too!

Anyway, enough reading… go ahead and download it. Enjoy. I’m sure you will.

Hey Spiedkiks and everyone involved in this spectacular album… thank you all so much for such a terrific sonic journey!

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!

Laurent Fairon – Passage du rollifer

Laurent Fairon

“Passage du rollifer”

New back-from-the-archives album for the first time on the internet, Passage du Rollifer is a ‘lost album’ I recorded back in 2018 which eventually never materialized anywhere. A collection of 8 tracks with the usual loops, sequences, collages and found sounds, it also features three ‘songs’ where I’m reading some of my own poetry in French. Both instrumental tracks and ‘songs’ are special to me, dealing with personal issues of childhood traumas, adult fears and loss—themes I’m not usually dealing with, in music or else.

Oizak – Camping Sauvage !

Oizak – Camping Sauvage !

Oizak

“Camping Sauvage !”

Alongside the electrified side of his music which we showcased last December by releasing “Le Ciel Rouge”, an adventurous and freeform kind of post punk and noise pop whether from his duos Red Space Cyrod, HyperSensible and Tadash or by himself under the simple moniker Cyrod, Cyrille Poumerie has been exploring since 2014 a more electronic venture at the crossroads of ambient and kosmische musik with his Oizak project. Perpetuating a taste for visuals from vintage SF comics like with the two previous records “µ” (2019) and “Cartilages Stellaires” (2020), “Camping Sauvage !” (“Wild Camping” in English) is already the 13th release of this alias interested in abstract musical narratives, an album all the more captivating for attempting to draw a rather unprecedented bridge between synthetic soundscapes, psychedelic collages and cinematographic sampling, asserting a singular aesthetic equally influenced by 70s krautrock, 80s experimental pop and 90s abstract hip-hop. After diving into drone, stellar folk, noise dissonances, motorik and some sort of bedside neo-classical music, so many influences that reappear intermittently throughout “Camping Sauvage !”, Oizak offers us 5 new mutating instrumentals where downtempo beats, dreamlike synths, decadent arpeggiators and keyboards from another time mingle with vocal and orchestral samples (“Repérage Désordonné”), bursts of freejazz brass (“Amorçage des Possibles”) and more syncopated rhythms with a chopped up groove (the opening part of “Piétinement Orbital”), not hesitating to give in to its most baroque inspiration to finally remind us of a strange crossbreed between The Residents, Tangerine Dream and Kid Koala – or maybe Trans Am, Boards of Canada and 80s Morricone – without the avant-garde aspect ever taking over the cinematic impetus and delicate breathe of emotion. Not to be missed !

“Samsin Els”

[To read with your own voice]

Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.
(Jeremiah 1:9)

The process of language formation, understood as a vertical, generational transfer, repeated and replicated with fidelity and precision, has evolved into the recognition of a horizontal, public reservoir, shared and in constant de/re/construction: inexhaustible, continuous, simultaneously giving and receiving, taking what already exists and giving it back, reformulated, recombined, reconfigured. Almost like a loop.

The media for storing information lost their static, inflexible and canonical character with digitalia, becoming malleable, like clay, and susceptible to multiple variations and articulations. The institutions of analog archiving, which may be understood almost like a cemetery, were disrupted by this oxymoron, this new plane of coexistence or cohabitation between conservation and re-elaboration. “Writing on electronic platform is not only writing but doubles as archiving,” says visual artist, DJ, non-creative writer, and amateur archivist Kenneth Goldsmith; «Both processes have become inseparable.»

In the same way, if we think of remixes as speaking with someone else’s words, we find ourselves in the middle of a fluid and incessant conversation, where each sound finds new containers and is reproduced according to the circumstantial emphases of those who emit them: first, as in early childhood, they are reiterated and repeated, to the beat of other rhythms and tempi; with more age, we concentrate on some and discard others; when youth arrives, we pervert them in frank confrontation or embrace and defend them in full identification; at the time we present final papers in higher education, they become the starting point for completely new discourses. What this mini album offers are, precisely, fully autonomous reworks of some pieces of mine, by new and active generations:

Orquesta Pandroginia rejoices recomposing “instant records” 4 and 5 and “instant album” #1, reflecting on the process in the previous text. Emilio Adasme chooses revisiting #soloshow, multiplying it by three and compacting it into eight minutes and more. Groovestastik, on the other hand, plays with sources as disparate as the fifth episode of Voltajes Aleatorios podcast, “Tsonaramps” radio play, and “Almost Automatic Remicc #0”, which came to light thanks to the invitation of Cristóbal Cornejo, who is always in our hearts. All this is braided by one of the passes that Seiten Wall made through Planderfonia five years ago, taken from a still unpublished call, shared through historic radio program Perdidos en el espacio (Lost in space). And concerning the cover art, the self-portrait shared by Leonor unconsciously dialogues with the poster for the film “Les hautes solitudes”, by French director Philippe Garrel.

The selection of works was random, as a result of an online dialogue, intensified during the first year of the pandemic; the carte to approach them, absolutely blanche. As results arrived, the country was trembling until reviving the plebiscite of 1988, with a new victory for the People. It is powerfully striking that, this time, the face and body of hope were the same people leading the student revolt during their university years a decade ago.

What else to do but to celebrate that the words said before, almost whispered, resonate in those who choose to share their creative expression from this corner of the globe. And more than happy with the role to play now: paving their way and cheering their arrival.

Cheap Polaroid – No More Love

Cheap Polaroid – No More Love

Cheap Polaroid

“No More Love”

Returning this time with a world of heartbroken songs chopped and screwed to warp reality, is No More Love. Descriptions of songs below:

“Breaks My Heart”
Breaks My Heart, was just me screwing around in Ableton Live and taking one of my favorite songs of right now, I really love the intro part with the strings, I knew this was gonna be the intro because I wanted the listener to be in this mood of desire and heartbreak.

“Nowhere To Run”
So I had this Dua Lipa instrumental that I had never used for anything so I decided why not, I used a couple instruments to just layer and add this sort of weird clashing moody ambience that really just gave this sense of catchiness but also uneasiness.

“In The Darker of Your Mind”
So this track is one of the more simpler ones, but I liked messing around with it and just kinda listening to this screwy rhythm and the song just has the melancholy dance vibe to it that always felt like saying the phrase “It’s tough but we’ll get through it.”

“Just To Love You”
Just To Love You, is also simple but I wanted people to really focus in on the lyrics because you have this person singing about wanting to love someone, just until they love themselves, and I think that’s a pretty strong feeling.

“World of Heartbreak”
So I took this CONSUMER PRODUCT song that I really liked called Wireless and just slowed the hell out of the first minute with the vocal chant and the chiptune beat which is my favorite part and then I slowly layered on these instruments to give this really ambient, reflective moody track.

“Sepia Tint”
This was a scrapped intro track for another project I was doing, and I just took these orchestra loops and chopped up some Lana vocals and pitched them weirdly and I loved it. But it acts in this album, as a interlude and intro to the next track.

“Summertime, My Time”
I love Summertime Sadness, everytime I listen to it and Born to Die, suddenly I’m not Collin Reyes but I’m this epic persona, this majestic movie character, I’m the one at the credits scene standing over the lifeless body of a fallen hero, I’m free and so I took that song and I wanted to just chop it up in such a way that I loved it. I used the remix to fit the dance vibe and because I think the remix just adds this understated intensity.

“Like a Diamond”
Cola is such a weird song because it’s so, like America-core but it feels like a parody and a mockery of patriotism and modern day sexiness in America and to me, it’s this trash magic display of the higher class and the affluent but ultimately the hugest ego in the world. Like lying to yourself to be alright.

“This Dream of Mine”
This was a scrapped Pt, II. to a song of mine from 2020 called Aura but I never released it but it was so majestic and so peaceful so I put it as an ending track to be like, I just wanna live in this dream of mine, forever.

nonkel waldek – wenteltrap

nonkel waldek – wenteltrap
[HILIV007]

nonkel waldek

“wenteltrap”

Way back when nonkel waldek wasn’t an uncle, back when phones where dumber but people on time, this tape was made to roam the fields around Brussels with a boombox from Spullenhulp and a re-up from Terneuzen. Wandering through the worry free afternoons of the early two thousands double 00’s meant nothing but a couple of D’s would get you a long way. They packed enough juice to keep the freestyle session going for hours, which could feel like a split second, riding the tip of a high wave, destination eternity, or at least for as long as you wouldn’t choke.

Lost through the moves of time this tape was found in a drawer at the his mum’s house while manically searching for pin codes to his online banking under the pressure of a tax deadline. We have indeed come a long way. But some things don’t change, like a steady boom bap from an MPC2000XL bounced to a cassette, because they are timeless in their own right.

These beats where made for rapping and by God they where rapped too! For the time being that proof remains in the pudding of the uncle’s mind. Or maybe until an other tax deadline rocks around.

Aries Death Cult

“GAEA”

It happened that the cat met the fox in a forest, and as she thought to herself:
‘He is clever and full of experience, and much esteemed in the world,’ she spoke to him in a friendly way.
‘Good day, dear Mr Fox, how are you? How is all with you? How are you getting on in these hard times?’
The fox, full of all kinds of arrogance, looked at the cat from head to foot, and for a long time did not know whether he would give any answer or not.
At last he said: ‘Oh, you wretched beard-cleaner, you piebald fool, you hungry mouse-hunter, what can you be thinking of? Have you the cheek to ask how I am getting on? What have you learnt? How many arts do you understand?’
‘I understand but one,’ replied the cat, modestly.
‘What art is that?’ asked the fox.
‘When the hounds are following me, I can spring into a tree and save myself.’
‘Is that all?’ said the fox. ‘I am master of a hundred arts, and have into the bargain a sackful of cunning. You make me sorry for you; come with me, I will teach you how people get away from the hounds.’
Just then came a hunter with four dogs. The cat sprang nimbly up a tree, and sat down at the top of it, where the branches and foliage quite concealed her.
‘Open your sack, Mr Fox, open your sack,’ cried the cat to him, but the dogs had already seized him, and were holding him fast.
‘Ah, Mr Fox,’ cried the cat. ‘You with your hundred arts are left in the lurch! Had you been able to climb like me, you would not have lost your life.’
