about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

This license is the most restrictive of our six main licenses, only allowing others to download your works and share them with others as long as they credit you, but they can’t change them in any way or use them commercially.

Daniel Barbiero

“Not One Nor”

Daniel Barbiero – Not One Nor
Not One Nor presents two works made of discrete events foregrounding the materiality of a large string instrument in its role as a resonating chamber. Both pieces are constructed out of a limited number of gestures and/or pitches and points on the instrument’s geography with the intention of producing an immersion in sound as material, interspersed with contrasting pauses.

Not One Nor for prepared double bass calls for shifting variations in timbre through the use of three gestures corresponding to three different regions of the instrument.

Eighteen Events for Double Bass alternates eighteen prescribed sound actions with an equal number of non-actions to create an image of the flux of aural perception.

Daniel Barbiero: composer, double bass and prepared double bass.
Composed and recorded winter into spring 2012.
Recorded in Silver Spring, Maryland USA.
Mastering by Mark Beazley.

“Tortuga Harbour Dock I”

V.A. – Tortuga Harbour Dock I
We are proud to present our first compilation for 2 years anniversary – our ship landed at Tortuga Harbour Dock I.
Tortuga is a flying island forming the base of la-pikki-pikki records. Each corner sounds different and each tavern resounds to changing performers. We carefully picked out the folks who excite our feet most. The result is this various artists compilation including outstanding electronic clubmusic. Well known label artists like Chesavon, Sahin Laselle and Master Jim meet with la-pikki-pikki newcomers like Binz, Manolo Camp and The Crude Guy. The sonic wall gets completed by Zoli, Cableguys, Alic and Theme Fe. Nine awesome tracks which have one thing in common: their beats are kicking asses! Yarr!

“Wonderful Island”

Whitely & Love Through Cannibalism – Wonderful Island
Keeping summer alive as the seasons move towards winter, we are very proud to present to you a simply incredible split from Whitely and Love Through Cannibalism, Wonderful Island!

Creating a wonderfully upbeat sound, this album manages to conjure images of beautiful tropical beaches and luxuriously blue oceans with every beat and note. Each artist has their unique styles, but the entire album stays cohesive. Whitely starts off the album with his unique blend of sunny, dancey and downright cool tracks! Having featured here on Pxl-Bot before, Whitely this time ventures away from the straight chip sounds that we have heard before, but still draws heavily from the familiar sounds and styles that we have listened to and loved. Love Through Cannibalism then follows up behind, with his glorious seapunk, chipbreak goodness! Each track packed full of energy, sea spray and golden sand. Guaranteed to make even the most docile of fish grow feet and move them to the beat, grab this album now!
1. Whitely – Discovering Atlantis
2. Whitely – Lost In Your Eyes
3. Whitely – Pearl
4. Whitely – Show Me How To Fly
5. Love Through Cannibalism – A Summer Ghost
6. Love Through Cannibalism – Colorful Dreams
7. Love Through Cannibalism – Banana Night
8. Love Through Cannibalism – Kanto Drift

“Altitudes”

Fredziak – Altitudes
New album produced by Fredziak, ALTITUDES is an electronic symphony claiming an uninhibited poetic expression and a certain degree of sophistication. It is a sojourn in an imaginary sonic territory, a route traced in a series of landscapes: the wonder and excitement await the traveler-listener behind every corner, beyond each pass.

Engineer and artist, Fredziak, aka Frédéric Esnault, starts working on music after some experience in literature and painting. He devoted several years to produce the ALTITUDES album with the idea that the gap between contemporary pop, electronic production and classical heritage had no reason to exist. Therefore his work illustrates a form of reconciliation between the traditional approach to music and the most unbridled sound experiments.

ALTITUDES has been released on CD and downloadable files on September 15, 2012. It is published under Creative Commons license.

After his wonderful Debut on “krata.net.oo2” Qatarsis chooses the more abstract route this time and wrapped up Drunk in Japan for a ride in a spaceship, where they, that’s what we imagine, only subsist on interplanetary cookies and some spaced out teas to concentrate on their neverending route through the electronic universe!

sanefiftyfour – Our Time in the Invisible Wars

sanefiftyfour – Our Time in the Invisible Wars
[NN_LP026_09_12]

sanefiftyfour

“Our Time in the Invisible Wars”

sanefiftyfour – Our Time in the Invisible Wars
sanefiftyfour is an anonymous musician/writer who lives in Kansas (USA). Initially motivated by the same impulses that lead others to a bohemian/rock lifestyle, he eventually realized that music was a way for him to conduct social research, and that tenures in bands playing radically different genres of music would enable him to gain valuable insights into the myriad conflicting American subcultures. His twenty-first century recordings, while largely computer -based, inevitably reflect the experience and misadventure that follow from that sort of attitude, and he considers himself a sort of American primitive, aligned with a (very) small group of “redneck” heartland artists.

“Our Time in the Invisible Wars” is a series of timbre experiments, ranging from noise to dark ambient. They were either variations on material from the early-to-mid twentieth century by various Anglo (USA, UK) composers (in which case the source midi has been cut up and reversed to the point where it is unrecognizable), or they were the outcome of aleatory/chance exercises. The goal, for about half of the pieces, was to try for as much sonic variety as possible; the goal for the other half is stasis. A smirk at Krautrock pervades throughout.
