Matt Jah

“Enlazador De Mundos”

It’s a pleasure to welcome the talented Italian DJ and Producer Matt Jah to our family! His debut EP “Enlazador De Mundos” brings us 3 original groovy downtempo tracks, with remixes by our dearests Kadum and Kika Deeke.

Inspired by travels between Mexico and Bolivia “Enlazador de Mundos” is an Ep that takes its name (the one who unites the worlds) from the Maya Toltec culture. “Isla de la Luna and Isla del Sol” two songs that try to evoke the environments and vibrations of the two islands that bathe the titicaca lake. Suggestive places that could almost seem from other worlds.
In this work Matt Jah tries to combine analog electronic sounds and acoustic instruments, environments and natural spaces with unexplored dimensions, reality and dreams, a timeless world described by music.

With a continuous and careful research into ancient and ancestral that blends with electronic and psychedelic. Matteo La Motta (Matt Jah) is always looking for new sounds. Accompanied by his voice, guitar and some synths, his musical research goes into organic textures and tribal rhythms that try to evoke inner rituals and deep emotions.

“Hikikomori”

‘Hikikomori’ is a Japanese term that describes a person who withdraws from society and socially isolates themselves for extended periods, typically within their own home. ‘Hikikomori’ individuals avoid any significant social interaction, confining themselves to their room or enclosed spaces, and disconnect from the responsibilities and normal activities of daily life. This phenomenon is characterized by a deep sense of alienation and difficulty in relating to others. It’s important to note that the term ‘hikikomori’ doesn’t have an official clinical definition and can vary in its interpretation. Some consider it to be a syndrome or disorder, while others view it as a cultural response to social pressure and high academic and work expectations in society.

The social struggle is being replaced by an individual inner struggle, which largely prevents us from finding solutions to common problems. From the perspective of melancholic electronica, this album aims to channel social isolation in a hyperconnected world and transform that discomfort into something aesthetic and regenerative while gathering energy to come together for the common good. “Hikikomori” is an electronic music album that blends listening and dance, filled with rhythms, textures, and elements that span across genres. Ten tracks that will leave you captivated.

Various Artist – THE DESERT EARS

Various Artist – THE DESERT EARS
[LCNLP172]

Various Artist

“THE DESERT EARS”

The Necrophile Hummingbird Netlabel presents THE DESERT EARS by Psy Shepherd X Ethnomite Pux X Invisible Illusion.

“Desert Music for Desert Lovers”

The story of this record begins with its end, the day I was looking at photos of the triops and fairy shrimps that had hatched at Burning Man in Black Rock Desert, while I was listening to the Electronic Quicksands tracks that my long time collaborator Ethnomite Pux sent me in July 2023. After I did it, I remembered that Psy Shepherd sent me a track to collaborate after Nahel death in July too. So I had no other choice than to manage my time and take a few days to create my part of this split album. Also Psy Shepherd was a very close friend to the one for who we previously did a tribute linked with the last collaboration between Ethnomite Pux and me under another moniker. https://archive.org/details/parrhesia_sound_system_vs_ethnomite_pux_another_beast-feast

So this album seems mostly about how discomfort in music could be enjoyable, same way lead can be turned in gold. The way you look at everything changes everything. A french noiser a few weeks ago posted on a network that perhaps his music was junk, but it’s ok, he can deal with it. If you love it fine, if not he will not force you to listen. So as the AI disruption overturned the chessboard, It pushes us to find what ‘s make the difference between human music and AI music. Where is our humanity ?
As audience when You listen such works like this album, could You imagine for example that I can do the sing of the nomad robot blues and at the same time have no room to play it at home or only when I’m alone. Because my heart family think my music is junk. I deal with this hostile environment because it’s my choice. Life matter more than art, although art sustain my life. And I may not be wrong when I think that it’s the reality for most of the noisers.
I think noise is precisely this resilience. To refuse to follow the mainstream. To refuse the seduction lie, when it’s more about to negate yourself to fit with the norm. This resilience of humanity against all forms of control’s got a side effect called Solidarity. The more you suffer, the more you want to avoid this to the others. Solidarity is a huge fuck to any dominant system.
So what ? Each album is an act of resistance, like sending codes by radio wave during the WWII from london to each isolated sound creator. Keep your freedom, grow up your vegetable garden, you are not alone.

Where is our humanity ? It’s also the question we could ask if we were cops, but happily we are not. Of course In Memory Of Sahel is a variation, indeed a track done in memory of Nahel a 17 years racialized teenager killed by a cop in france in July 2023.

A thing about the form is that the tracks are shorter than my usual improvisations, being cut out in smaller parts, more set to electro ethnic trance and hard techno industrial styles. More than to provide comfort to the listener this is a way to build a serial music structure. Going back to a track, so close to another that your brain think it’s the same, but in reality it is modulated, it’s a variation, something about the nature of reality flux, this coil which come from well known fractal spiral structure…

Also if anyone is curious about were did come from the triops minimal rhythms, they are improvised with an electric frequencies generator.

Because whatever the distance the desert ears can hear. This album is dedicated to all the victims of the earthquake in Morocco & the floods in Lybia and all people dying because of global warming too.

Lluvia Acida – Cacique Mulato: la leyenda de Chumjaluwun

Lluvia Acida – Cacique Mulato: la leyenda de Chumjaluwun
[pn223]

Lluvia Acida

“Cacique Mulato: la leyenda de Chumjaluwun”

As musicians born and raised in Magallanes, we have a fascination with the vastness of the pampas and the stories woven there. The Aonikenk (Tehuelche) people are an indivisible part of that landscape, marking it even with their absence. Those men and women who pursued guanacos, rested in their shelters under the stars, and marched endlessly toward the horizon somehow still linger there. That’s why we wanted to get involved in the production of the film that revisits the life of the last chief of the Aonikenk people in Magallanes: Chumjaluwun, better known by the nickname Cacique Mulato.

To make a meaningful contribution to this work, directed by our friend Jorge Grez Leuquén, we began by researching how that world sounded. We searched for recordings of voices singing in the ancestral Aoneko language and embarked on something that set the course for this project: the reconstruction of an ancient Aonikenk string instrument called the “koolo”, whose last traditional player passed away nearly 40 years ago. We also came across the beautiful recording of the “Quena de San Gregorio”, an instrument discovered on the shores of the Strait of Magellan, which was reconstructed through a Fondecyt project.

Building upon these sounds, we started composing music, initially using various percussion instruments and our own voices. Later, we incorporated string instruments, synthesizers, and ambient sounds created with software. The sound of this soundtrack reinforces the primary idea of the film: how the Aonikenk world was progressively altered and ultimately cornered in the name of Civilization and Progress.

We appreciate the director’s trust and enthusiasm in embracing our proposal. We are very pleased to have contributed our sound to his film, a great collective effort to make cinema far from the mainstream audiovisual industry. A film that tells a story that should be known and never forgotten by those of us who inhabit this divided and fenced land.

“5 years a goose”

Five years ago i started publishing music on Bandcamp, so a small celebration seems to be appropriate. The tracks on this album are all made during the last five years, two tracks are reworked versions from two of my albums (“kleine stücke” and “Herbarium”), two tracks are inspired by the Beat Battles (formerly on metapop, now on discord, the rest have never been published before. The last track (“arctic goose”) is brand new.

From the eg0cide Productions release notes:

“We welcome back long time contributor John Beers aka Luciftias with a new album of subtle droning ambient, featuring contributions of his cousin and collaborator Caleb Beers. Moki Mcfly

“Tabernacle Sanctuary Alligator Soufflé”

Moki Mcfly describes “Tabernacle Sanctuary Alligator Soufflé”, his 7th blocSonic release, as “a token of creative cross-pollination, assimilating influences from a multitude of origins”. That hits the nail on the head. A culmination of years of influences and experience, the new eleven track album is a sonic joy to listen to.

Moki goes on to say “At its core, the driving force of jungle and drum and bass forms a rhythmic foundation that propels the sonic narrative forward with an invigorating cadence. The interaction between these varied components cultivates a layered auditory experience, the intrinsic swing and bounce derived from Memphis rap harmoniously converge with the pulsating energy of electronic rhythms. Intertwining the resonant harmonies reminiscent of the soulful era of the 1970s. These harmonies evoke sentiment, weaving an emotional tapestry that resonates across time. It serves as a conduit between genres and decades, evoking a sense of musical nostalgia while breathing fresh life into the sonic landscape.”

So whatever you do, be sure to download and listen to this fantastic new album. Please enjoy & spread the word.

Moki… thanks for another incredible album! You never disappoint.

Of course, thanks once again to you for downloading & listening. We always strive to deliver the music you’ll love. Please spread the word about blocSonic, if you enjoy what we do. Remember… everything we release is cool to share! Always keep the music moving… share it… blog it… podcast it! If you’re in radio… support independent music and broadcast it!

Yadak – Cells for Replication

Yadak – Cells for Replication
[pn222]

Yadak

“Cells for Replication”

The album “Cells for Replication” by Yadak immediately captures attention, generating a deep emotional connection from the body, primitive and animalistic. Its sound envelops and invites the listener to immerse themselves in an existence that flows in waves, awakening profound states that are increasingly restless and connecting with internal places that express themselves in intimacy. I can’t separate it from the image; it moves, transitions, evolves, it carries you… As I listen, oscillating landscapes slowly unfold, swaying between stillness and darkness, then gliding towards crystalline lights and fluid pulses. Yadak‘s sonic gestures manifest in imaginary landscapes, full of texture and color. I feel as if I’m traveling through time, traversing vibrant and diverse atmospheres that are almost palpable. At certain moments, the music emerges with a hypnotic intensity, shifting tones and providing sharpness and timbral brilliance even in the darkest segments. That contrasting luminosity of textures resembles a glow that sparkles in a deep blue twilight. The chiaroscuro is ever-present, carried by mechanical impulses that convey a sense of different spatial planes, with a manifest intention to take us on the journey to the end.

“Cells for Replication” obeys nothing more than its own emotion, and it drags you through time with determination. The music permeates attention, generating an immersive sensory experience, playing with images of our era, human beings, life, and artificial intelligence. It’s impossible not to feel the territorial vastness it proposes, situating the physical sensation in this subtle yet robust imaginary landscape. The rhythms carry you forward, anchoring a precise point of contemplative stillness while awakening memory. As I approach the end of the album, an image appears in which the sea is close. In my mind, I can almost imagine what it would be like to immerse myself in it. I breathe deeply and ponder the question: how can one not be carried away?
