about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

Updates!

Updates!

Hello world!

May be you have already noticed: there are are some changes on the clongclongmoo website. To speed up the page the embedded players are now accesable after a click at the cover artwork. The second aspect of this decision is a tribute to the times when I bought Vinyl and CD`s at the record shop. I was always looking for interesting artworks that makes me curious about the music first. I hope you will accept this decision also why it makes the usability on mobile devices a bit more comfortable.

Also the the section of the netlabel links and the list of labels is now updated. After discovering that most of the old labels are not alive any more I decided not to delete the entries but marked them as “dead”. Almost for all the labels I found archive pages where you still find great music. Please stay in contact with clongclongmoo where you can find almost everyday new music that is published for free. To stay informed about updates please visit the website regularly or subscribe to the mastodon channel or the rss feed. I still don’t know how long I can suffer Twitter yet – it is a strange neighbourhood.

Thanks again to all of you listeners, musicians and label managers. I’m still amazed by the diversity and the quality of so many free releases that you share with us. Keep on!

Business is not my music!

Юродивый – Fallen Expectations

Юродивый – Fallen Expectations
[ST005]

Юродивый

“Fallen Expectations”

Project made by polish, Warsaw based anonymous artist.

The sound of юродивый is closely related to the emotional side of everyday life in a modern world. Acoustic piano recordings combined with electronic instruments and samples are the main components of the atmosphere of this project.

The name юродивый means the fool for Christ which was one of the main models of the sanctity in the Russian orthodox catholic church. Foolishness, emotions and disappointment are the three elements which gave life to the “Fallen expectations” – debut release of this project.

The three productions were recorded during one night studio session in winter 2018/19.

Globoscuro – Morphism of a Dream (Anthology)

Globoscuro – Morphism of a Dream (Anthology)
[enrmp442]

Globoscuro

“Morphism of a Dream (Anthology)”

This anthology album was conceived by the founder of the project Emiliano Pietrini as a portrait of Globoscuro’s sonic path that crosses, through visionary flows and heterogeneous architectures, the river of time floating from 2001 to 2018 condensed into 3 CDs for a total of 42 tracks. The auditory experiences shrouded in it are ranging from dark ambient to the most heinous noise, crossing the musique concréte while circumnavigating a certain kind of abstract psychedelic as a reflection of a complex artistic personality in constant evolution and growth which never sees points of arrival but always new and eclectic departures towards its own indefinable individuality. The anthology also contains tracks composed in collaboration with other wonderful artists such as Ángel Sánchez Cervera aka Braghsdn, Cousin Silas, Sean Derrick Cooper Marquardt, Nina Maroccolo, Lutz Thuns, Øystein Jørgensen and Peter Wullen as well as interventions by other artists and friends especially in the recitative and vowels parts such as Imi Enzyme aka Mach feedback, Ilaria Fierro, Una Lee and Serena Zingoni. The overall sound approach reflects Globoscuro’s “modus operandi” by presenting compositions of concrete and analog preponderance in which instruments such as piano, guitar, bass, synth, theremin, violin and many others non-existent tools built with bare hands merge with rarefied veins of melodies (or even better anti-melodies) of digital nature. The multiple textures allow for highly dissonant threads to be interwoven into the shape of an oneiric electro-acoustic symphony built on surrealist abstractions yet so immersed into the incandescent lava of an emotional tangiblity that seems shaped by the clay of life itlself. The anthology also contains tracks never released before and originally composed for videos or poems of artists and friends Maria Korporal, Pinina Podestà, István Horkay, Maria Grazia Galatà, Isabel Pérez Del Pulgar, Roli Hope Odeka and Faraòn Meteosès.

Emmerichk – Sleepy HZ

Emmerichk – Sleepy HZ
[M023]

Emmerichk

“Sleepy HZ”

Review: Emmerichk is a long-standing mexican producer in the electronic music scene who gives now six dub techno tracks in its purest essence. His proposal is more in the intimate side and it is characterized by micro-nosey and glitch. The quest for atmospheres that is proposed here delivers duality between oneiric and the real, lifting us up to a spacial drift trip and great contemplation.
An album to enjoy in its entirety with very interesting textures and deep inwardness.

André Baradit, Valparaíso, 2019.

Whalt Thisney – Thisembothis

Whalt Thisney – Thisembothis

Whalt Thisney

“Thisembothis”

The music of WHΛLT THISИEY is a solitary soundtrack to nowhere, a non-tourist map into the unknown; music and images to create new, fully immersive environments, an intriguing aural pilgrimage with no destination in time and space, nuances and labyrinths.
WHΛLT THISИEY selects and mixes music for the mind and body in the same quantities that emerges from encounters between the past and the present, drawing beauty of the commonplace, wiping, polishing it, giving it life again, so to produce the same effect of the original freshness and spontaneity, a mirror that transforms it absorbs and reflects.
WHΛLT THISИEY mixes impressionist piano atmospheres, spoken wordcore, drone, experimental, library, hypnotic escapism music.

“Minimalismus”

DR (Dominic Razlaff), born 1982, is a sound artist from Lower Saxony, Germany.

He usually plays synthesizers, acoustic instruments (Ukulele & Cavaquinho) and he uses field recordings, tape loops & granular synthesis for composing slow ambient and drone soundscapes.

Over the years (he has a long discography) he developed his poetics focusing on an open approach and on a precise choice of making beatless music.

This is his second appear on IYE label after Nina Sergejewna. This time is more focues on long patterns of deep ambient vaves.

Dave Schoepke – Before Black And White

Dave Schoepke – Before Black And White
[djummi.015]

Dave Schoepke

“Before Black And White”

Before Black and White is a song exclusively written for drumset, which definitely provoke usual listening habits kindly. His percussion instrument becomes a storyteller. No longer convinient drumbeat, but sounding drums. Dave causes the drumheads to oscillate, so that you inevitably start to pause and pay attention.

The inspiration for single spawns from the thought, that black and white photography was the first real step in the direction of mass documentation of humans to where we have gone to today and reminds one that those things that we hold so dear are not permanent. Like us. Humans focused more on life and living it back then and less on documenting it like we constantly do today.
