Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

“Muqarnas”

“Walking into a mosque one enters into the space of a very strong idea. Although these architectures reflect the human universe of the believers, the principles of their construction obey the laws of the creator of the universe. Walking in a valley, into cave or forest presents an equally strong idea, if one listens carefully. The natural world is also created by an unknown, undefinable creator. The creator, singular or plural, incarnate in the creation of spaces like valleys and forests and caves doesn’t speak our language but what we have of the language of architecture and speech is drawn from the resonance and the laws of such spaces. Listening itself becomes an architecture. We reflect on how and when we listen. Simplicity and complexity convolve an infinite interaction.” — Jeffrey Alan Gburek

Laurent Fairon

“QUIRKS”

Hi, there,

Maybe you’ll fing something to your tastes in my new project QUIRKS:

https://laurentfairon.bandcamp.com/album/quirks

The blurb:
The QUIRKS mini album combines various scattered audio remains –vinyl detritus, found sounds and spoken word– to produce new sound chimeras and audio collages with a life of their own.

The QUIRKS concept and methodology were inspired by a famous US boardgame from the 1980s, where cards of various animal parts combine to create new, imaginary creatures – the cover artwork chosen for this Bandcamp album intended to emulate the mood as well.

This project is also indebted to US provocateurs Bill Buchanan and Dickie Goodman, who pioneered the “break-in” record in the 1950s, or plunderphonics avant la lettre.

L.F.: vinyl, found sounds, loops, artwork

Best,

Laurent Fairon

“The Most Beautiful Flowers In The World”

I was standing between epochs of humans’ growing, between periods of flowers’ maturity. I was trying to hear a sound of stopped time while I was standing between humans and flowers.

Walter Fini + Philippe Neau

“white project”

Spectra collide in synergy in “white project” – the essential result of the continuous collaboration between Phlippe “nobodisoundz” Neau and Walter Fini, which began a few years back. The release comprises of 3 compositions that revolve around the deafening and conflicting relationship that man has with nature, the dominant force and protagonist of our doings. The sounds shine through and envelope our daily lives totally, in a deafening, chaotic way. White as the color, which absorbs everything, which contains everything, wrapped in nothing. White is a sheet, where instinctive sound dimensions take shape, where a simultaneously abstract and concrete vision takes us to the ancestral roots of the human being.

Alex Mason

“Dark”

Dark ambient album by Russian project Alex Mason. Hungry, gray, uninhabited forest. For many miles there is not a soul around and there is only a lonely house in the middle of the thicket. A person who strayed from the road really needs help, but the feeling of anxiety does not leave him even for a second and with each step it only intensifies…

Teeth Of Divine

“Act I – Genesis”

“This album is a long-standing exploration of the juxtaposition between physical presence and mental boundaries that emerged during the creative process. Our bodies are matter physically present in the present reality, but our psychic capacities can be distanced, reaching parallel inter-temporal spaces. They aim at creating internal and external associative representations between presence – happening – reflection directed at the senses. The immediate primal feeling in one present is lost or renewed, disappears or reappears after nothing is the same again.”

“Bralitz Vol. 1”

The music you are listening to was recorded in the last week of August 2012 in Bralitz/Brandenburg, Germany. That year, there wasn’t a Braaahhlitz Festival yet, just a small concert at the end of the week. So there was plenty of time to play music.

The basic tracks with guitars, drums and bass were mostly recorded live, on a stage in the old railway station’s former waiting hall. After that, the musicians from the aaahh-records family contributed their parts. No boundaries – there is soul infused pop, folky acoustic songs, quirky raps, and beautiful melodies.

4T Thieves – Hauntology

4T Thieves – Hauntology
[mhrk227]

4T Thieves

“Hauntology”

“I’ve let this sink in for several weeks, and I’m glad I did. One road-trip up the Central Coast, several commutes to and from work, a recent 5-hr flight from the West and East coasts, and sporadic listenings when the time was just right—and one thing is certain: 4T Thieves’ (aka Kahvi head hauntologist) gives a nod to the Sandison and Eoin brothers in a very complimentary way. Taking cues from genuine feel-good and sun-soaked downbeat electronica strains (ie. “Orange Sunshine) to heavy bass acrobatics like the fantastic “Aquaverde”—Hauntology is an intense sonic smorgasbord.

From synthesizer squiggles featured on “Tessellations (The Synth)” to the magnetic ambient drifts and nostalgic flute sounds of “Daytime Astronomy,” each track is carefully woven to reveal its hidden melodic moments. Bells and slight whistles, eroded drums, and Cub Scout lessons about what to do in case of the Atom Bomb (ie. “Past Inside The Present”) are downbeat perfection. Tracks like “Still Life” crumple, decompose, and utterly engage the listener with memories recovered from yesteryear—meant to be played in a continuous loop, it doesn’t lose its emotional spark and fragile texture. Sculptures of sound like “Echo Lake” present stripped down (Deru-styled) hip-hop in the most tranquilized vein, ultimately tapering away as the sun begins to set on the horizon. The aptly titled “Painting With Light” sets out to explore atmospheric pressure as it connects minimal soundscapes and effervescent drones along the way. The aura surrounding “Lost Futures” is simply mind expanding—its minuscule melodies ebb and flow while a hypnotic 4/4 beat pushes forward. There are many crevasses to fall into, especially on the kaleidoscopic rhythm of “Summer Breeze and Autumn Leaves” (see video premiere)—4T Thieves once again masterfully ages this track with a subliminally vintage groove.

Hauntology raises the bar for BoC-inspired tunes, exploring atomic Weaponeering, and takes us out of the realm of kilotons into the fantastic world of megatons with ease and control. Ranked high in our Best Of 2019 list, Hauntology is aged to sonic perfection.” –Igloo Magazine

[EEM050]

Number Eleven

“Resistance”

A system created to analyze reality and perception got its inputs removed because it was going out of control. This fix damaged the reality by feedbacking the system on its repercussions causing incorrect analysis until the dream of reality became a stream of negative numbers. The resistance against the system was initiated to prevent it from corrupting the perception of reality, even though, it was already shaping the perception the way it wanted to, because the reality did not favour the system.

Broken and syncopated stream of percussive attack, punching through disharmonic leftovers in reverberation, not welcoming you at all by constantly reminding of its continuously corrupting state.

No(Spin)

“Whispers”

Sometimes it’s better to just listen to your inner self. That’s what this album is about: pure primitive emotions with zero sugar coating.

From the first day of DJ-ing every tune was getting heavier and darker, darker and heavier until the drum and bass became crossbreed, crossbreed became hardcore. Now everything is mixed in a sick way of harmonic disaster, main tunes correspond with each other in a fashion of spoken words of a tale – a whole tale of everyday-life sickness, love and carnage.

[AR_094]

Man From Sol

“Fracture Cycles”

The movement of historical time is catalyzed by the cycles of production that constitute our social totality. When these cycles and this linear march entwine and lose any semblance of mutual control, their inexorable trajectory is towards rupture. Emergent cycles of higher complexity and abstracted alienness to those of us subjected to them exacerbate the very dynamic from which they were borne, but offer the only way out: fracture.

Nortas – Aukštai II

Nortas – Aukštai II
[EEM048]

Nortas

“Aukštai II”

Aũkštai II (“Floors II”) is the second release from the series by Nortas. This record continues to explore the space between thoughts. However, instead of creating sense of isolation in relation with the first record, constant flow of thoughts in “Aukštai II” induces the development of self-awareness shield.

This album has a sense of ashes, coming from the burning memories, which are transformed into shape of soundwaves. The cold vibrations resemble the observation of lonely spaces created around people, a discoloured view of wallmarks around the mist-filled mind corridors. Synthesized echoes reflect the fragile state of collecting the sharp-edged pieces of what once was a functioning soul. The void of waves locks into tunnel of nostalgia, foreshadowing the time once spent but cannot be returned.

Natura Est – Second

Natura Est – Second
[mhrk222]

Natura Est

“Second”

Created for a love of all that is Dark Ambient, British Electronic producer Tony Young (Autoclav1.1) and German Industrial/Noise powerhouse Andreas Davids (xotox); first bore fruits of their labour, with their self-titled, monolithic debut in 2018.

2019, continues the story with “Second”. A new chapter of colossal, brooding ambient; where light is slowly crushed by shade, within a multi-faceted arena of sound.

From the nightmarish journey through dying forests and the ruined vestiges of humanity depicted in their debut; the path now leads across desolate moorland and hilltops to the coast. The sea levels are now rising; and we have to face the inevitable, that all will be consumed.

Once more, Natura Est have produced an album that stands tall within the genre; holding an aural mirror to the world, provoking one question. Nature is all, all is nature; but who really is the beast?
