about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

REfugEEs From Beyond

“Mindfuckers”

Everybody knows about the disaster origin, everybody knows what economic system is the plague devastating the planet.
It’s an expansionist system, which annihilates all forms of alternatives, which contaminates everything it touches.
This system is the death pulsation that creeps into our lives.

Dedicated to every living surviving to the capitalism.

Recorded live the 5th December 2022 at the Cave Haven in Foucherans.

CollAGE D – CollAGE D(urdoudink)

CollAGE D – CollAGE D(urdoudink)

CollAGE D

“CollAGE D(urdoudink)”

Tentez l’aventure !

Superfreak

“Explain to me your meme”

It had been a while since Superfreak had started pretending to understand what everyone was talking about. He looked at the memes and smiled just for fear of being left out. At that point he decided to update himself by opening the semiotics manuals.
This album is on his journey between the generation of meaning and the memetic irony. A failed journey translated in music in a cheerful but melancholic Casio tone-saxophone-drums weird pop.

Superfreak quote: “Special Thanks to Lexia. Rivista di Semiotica Viralità. A book that turned me on Memes, semiotics and all that boring stuff that I put in the lyrics. Music, English, Theories in this album are wrong or imperfect, as imperfect is my life”.

Lately Kind of Yeah – Uncurse [2023]

Lately Kind of Yeah – Uncurse [2023]

Lately Kind of Yeah

“Uncurse [2023]”

Part of the Lately Kind of Yeah archive series.

The LKOY archive series returns on Vulpiano Records for the first time since 2019 with ‘Uncurse,’ an album of acoustic tracks. Lo-fi production and sparse instrumentation set the stage for an enveloping, warm coziness replete with psychedelic washes of soft noise. The pretty vocals, sometimes layered and chanting as in the casting of a spell — or the undoing of one — weave with grace and vulnerability through these gauzy landscapes.

Words from the artist:

“Uncurse is an acoustic song collection, recorded between 2011–2017 in Illinois, Kentucky, and Wyoming. For an empty room, the addicted, and hollowed wood.”

The Maravines – Shippen

The Maravines – Shippen
[MARAV066A]

The Maravines

“Shippen”

Shippen is the fourteenth Studio album, that is by the Maravines. The complete album is available for download on the Internet Archive, in late January of 2023.
There are three cover versions of songs on Shippen, by Sean Faust, Underlined Passages, and Relays, as well as one instrumental song. The first released song, “S. Feclofus” appears on the charity compilation The Light Between – Songs of Hope and Mercy, with all of the proceeds for Saint Jude Children’s Hospital. The song “Sentinel” is on the fourth volume of Rock against Hate, for Planned Parenthood. For The Jersey Journal’s review of the album, the Maravines write that “a woman has the right to choose when she wants to have children, like a man has the right to be free, like all life has the right to live.”
In an interview with BlowUpRadio, on August 12th, Sean Faust remarks that the Maravines “did the second part, Without a Name” and they “went for that more ethereal air about it, georgeous.” The song is called “outstanding” in the on line music magazine New Jersey Stage, on September 5th, and it premiered on BlowUpRadio’s New N. J. Music Playlist that day, at 7 P. m. JPeck of Margate, New Jersey’s Alternative Rock band Bosco and Peck writes that the song “Recall and Return” puts him “in a trance,” and that he “really likes the track.” BlowUpRadio adds that the vibe is “mellow, but compelling, with strong lyrics.” “Recall, and Return” is on the Banding Together compilation, in conjunction with the Spondylitis Webathon.

Arabia Saudade – Estudando a América do sul

Arabia Saudade – Estudando a América do sul

Arabia Saudade

“Estudando a América do sul”

PLOT
The third and last album of ARABIA SAUDADE completes the sad story of their Arab Character. Arrived in Brazil with big luggage full of Saudade on the first album (Americ) our character started loving the carnival frenzy of its new home (Le Petit Senegallia) and now is ready to discover all the countries of South America. His trip driven by Wikipedia info leads him to unconditional love for the continent. But when the joy reaches the apex it is time to go back home. As Joao Gilberto taught us: joy has an end and sadness doesn’t.

ALBUM:
The 12 new tracks recorded by ARABIA SAUDADE are one for each South American country (except Brazil which was the main theme of the previous albums). Each lyrics is focused on something taken from the Wikipedia page and then explored live by the Italian band. It took four years to check all the news with real intercontinental trips. During these trips Arabia Saudade embedded Cazzurillo because their Portuguese was still translated with Google Translate, and she was the only one that could understand our sad guys.

REFERENCE:
The travelling helped Arabia Saudade to discover tons of new music and evolve their arabpunk sound. We can sum up in these references:

Downtown Boys, Gal Costa, Bad Bunny, Gong, La Tigresa Del Oriente, Wendy Sulca

released February 28, 2023

“Blue Green Earth”

This release, entitled Blue Green Earth, is a set of ambient love poems I have created for one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, a unique combination of desert and mountains unlike anywhere else, with an aura of peacefulness and solace unmatched. I simply adore the place.

Intended listening is from the front porch, watching the sun turn the sea of rabbitbrush to gold. I hope you find this album rewarding!

All confusion is absolutely necessary to us.

Just a word about this album, usually there is a beginning and an end to everything. So with our first one and this one we did both, to be sure to stay outside later… I mean to explore the after death : Life.
…and also in the same way to say that we must put an end to police violence. This may seem complicated, knowing that the police are mainly there to maintain social inequalities and enforce laws passed by the rich and to which they are not subject. However, it would be enough, for example, to tax the largest fortunes to set up a universal income, and to significantly reduce violence in the world… as well as the number of police forces. Anyway, who does not know what is the brake that prevents both social and ecological progress? Capitalism cannot be reformed, because it is in its deep nature to be against all the human qualities of solidarity, sharing, and equity.
The so-called benefits touted by its supporters eventually exist only for those who accept this fool’s game, and approach the top of the pyramid. For the others, they remain out of reach behind the window. Descending from colonialism, it concentrates all the resources stolen from the oppressed into the hands of its ardent defenders. Obedience is a crime. Shouldn’t we try with all our might to develop alternatives and defend them against the watchdogs of power?

Dedicated to all the victims of police checks.

PS. Also, if it’s not obvious “lAId Off Sex Workers” is talking about the artists difficulties face to the rise of artificial intelligence too… Tool are tools and myself I prefer to try to hijack them, instead to be afraid, I prefer to mix everything new with older roots… But actually, knowing the cost per day of the chatGPT3 AI (around 100 000 dollars), it seems crystal clear, that the firms will provide their tool free only the time to push to the dole many art workers. And when there will be less concurrence, to turn it only available with paying subscriptions.

BRITNEY25 – Division Joie

BRITNEY25

“Division Joie”

The Necrophile Hummingbird netlabel presents Division Joie by Britney25.
“Depressive Music for the Incurable People”

Whatever the bloody waves of dark thoughts, only the corpses return to the shore, but then they straighten up to scream in the wind: not even dead yet !

If a Goth spirit exists, it’s not a poser thing, not even the romantic taste for eros & thanatos, but a visceral thing, the malaise that transpires from the survivor who refuses to let himself be condemned, by the oppression of the system , to mark the end of his life. Exhibition of a skin-deep sensitivity, the echo of our shared nightmares, in a sound orgy. Journey through suffering. Cursed desperate, still laughing in the face of death ! Oscillation, like the flame that resists the night. Always on the verge of extinction, but still burning. Exorcism of emotion, ritual remains that are priceless. Fully aware of vanity, shouting not to be heard, but to hear that one is still alive. Aware that it is a downward spiral, the more darkness you feed on, the more darkness you invite into your life. Creative vicious circle that inevitably leads to the end. Isn’t life a form of agony ? Perhaps the exhibition of atrocities helps overcome damnation. Or maybe our pain can heal the wounds of the listener. Anyway, might as well have fun with the grace of those who know that life is a joke. When I talk of this album, because of the visual she chose to represent herself as Besançon’s “soeur sourire”, I call it the “black virgin”, I’m wrong, indeed the title is perfect, it is really the joy division, one side is in darkness, the other in the light. We are all walking on the borderline, and sometimes we slip… So don’t forget, don’t forget the fallen angels, because they are legion.

It seems that horsnorme music has always been too much gothic for experimental music audiences and too much experimental for gothic audiences. Britney25’s music is horsnorme, with no assigned place, always on the move, never where you expect it, cynical until the last moment… and beyond. It is a joy to welcome the latest offspring of this hyperactive outsider musician who refuses to return to her niche in the society of the spectacle.

By the way, a big fuck to the french governement which is trying to make the people work after their death… and the same way to be sure they have no time of life left to help the non-profit associations or any kind of non-governmental organizations. Their goal is clear, to erase any form of dissidence as well of margins, calling them separatism.
