about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Slow Children & Area – Zima E.P.

Slow Children & Area – Zima E.P.
[tonAtom.141]

Slow Children & Area

“Zima E.P.”

chicago, in the middle of deepest winter. snow covered. at this time of year, the title track of this e.p. was created as a collaboration between slow children (whom we welcome as a new artist) and area (most recently in 2009 on “objet trouvé” [tonatom.103]).

“zima” means winter and this is reflected in the meandering, powerful, deep, ambient opener. five alternative interpretations of this work take up different aspects in a new way, continue it with a new focus and complete this e.p. this is far from being a ” one original title and remixes” release, but rather presents six very different variations of a theme combined, which allows an attentive listening as one piece.

[TTR068]

Various Artist

“Quintessence”

In July 2015 a new electronic music label was born in Brazil. Amidst the rise of many new talents in need of space to show their work, Tropical Twista Records started with the idea to give voice to these brilliant artists, from Brazil and the rest of the world.

Five years later, the label stays true to the mission of releasing new and interesting people, spotlighting Brazilian and South American artists. Beyond that, TTR feeds the underground electronic music scene, encouraging and sharing its music in a broad and accessible way.

“Quintessence” is the closure of this first 5 year cycle: we gathered all elements of the previous years to give birth to a new energy, expansive, dynamic, long lasting and capable of creating new ideas, breaking paradigms every time.

We brought together these 15 artists in this compilation to once again solidify our intention and our commitment with the underground electronic music, experimental and avant-garde, Tropical Twista’s trademark.

Fm Outt

“Incomplete Kisses”

Fm Outt is a romantic and a futuristic alter ego with a focus on the beautiful and the good of sadness.
This is music without reference to genre orientation, a rhythm cataloged or its complete absence.

Fm Outt try to write music from images, music for storytelling, music to reflect a calm environment.
He is inspired by his family. Watching his wife walk around the room, his daughter does her homework quietly and his son plays-I he makes compositions based on those feelings and moments, that is his inspiration.

He is inspired by the silence or lack of it.
He learned one simple thing from some people:
Everything is Sound…
Music is all around us the music is allways within us…

Hola Papa – Too Far with my Crazy Loser girl

Hola Papa – Too Far with my Crazy Loser girl

Hola Papa

“Too Far with my Crazy Loser girl”

Hola Papá, experimental electronica project by chilean artist Valentina Mardones, presents “Too Far with my Crazy Loser girl”, a record comprising 5 tracks: 2 studio works (“201X” y “Round About Midnight Stairs”), and three live takes (“Muelle Fracaso”, “Miradores Fracaso” y “Loser Heart under Water”). Coming from an avant-jazz-rock background, as MediaBanda lead singer from 2014 to 2018, her approach towards baffling, chaotic soundings in this solo work are extremely interesting.

Crossing unsteady pulses and rhythms with brittle melodies, her compositions are an invitation to keep our minds on the complex atmospheres she weaves and knits, sometimes looking for a break taking us to extreme noise, some other times descending towards peaceful melodic states – all of this can be found in this landscape.

This new Hola Papá work is a landmark in Pueblo Nuevo catalog. Her creative and sonic freedom statement allows us to keep exploring more complex music realms, going beyond the expected, taking risks and proposing new sound perspectives, using everything at hand, either the voice of one’s own, a Turin church bells recording, or a Microkorg synth, anything goes – but, most of all, the boldness to break rules and standards.

Piece Of Acid – Acid Flowers EP

Piece Of Acid – Acid Flowers EP
[DigitalDiamonds076]

Piece Of Acid

“Acid Flowers EP”

Acid Flowers EP is the debut release by the German co-founder of Digital Diamonds and one half of Alic, Piece Of Acid. The driving concept behind the project is based on Roland’s renowned bass synthesizer from the ’80s, called the TB-303, after its unique sound and warm timbre. This gives the EP a retro, acid techno vibe complemented by analog sounds and clear-cut production. However, there’s a refreshing visionary, psychedelic approach in the textures and sound design, using insect-like and glitch effects. On top of that, it has ear-catching ideas that make the tracks not only dance floor gems but well-composed songs. We foresee a promising future for this budding project.

“Access Frame: Equity”

Kamizdat is proud to present a 2020 Netlabel Day release.

Access Frame: Equity is a compilation of 20 local electronic artists with many original works that span a wide spectrum of electronic music genres: from noise and sonic art, via bass, breaks, all the way to acid techno. The concept of the compilation is to bring attention to the conflict between necessity of free culture and enclosure of culture by copyright law. The conflict which is temporarily solved by Creative Commons licences.

Access Frame is a series of compilations of adventurous music published by Kamizdat under a Creative Commons licence on 14. July – International Netlabel Day. It tries to establish a practice of thinking critically about access to, and distribution of, art. It poses a question: what is the frame through which we are allowed, and able, to access culture? How is it created, by whom, and can such frame of access be modified and transgressed?

MIOPEC – Wet Desert

MIOPEC – Wet Desert
[pn160]

MIOPEC

“Wet Desert”

This album is a real treasure: produced from 2005 to 2010 and distributed via CD in underground networks, it has been finally unearthed ten years later via a Pueblo Nuevo remastered version.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Chilean musician and producer Marcelo Peña C. (Miopec, Tobías Alcayota, MKRNI, VAN, among others), “Wet Desert” presents an harmonic experimental blending of digital programming, midi sequences and analog samples. Sounds reminiscing ethnographic recordings mixed with experimentation in rhythms, turning into uncanny soundscapes, are turning points on the album. Complex programming and melodies suggesting psychedelic analog keyboards, are also present a-plenty, as a recurring feature in Miopec‘s extensive musical output.

“Wet Desert” is an intimate, auteur album I’ve been listening to for years. It is also twofold: on the one hand, it sounds very well outdoors, played loud, mostly in isolated landscapes, coming together with the environment. On the other hand, considering Miopec’s experience in production and mixing, it is also a pleasant listening experience with headphones, constantly discovering new sounds and arrangements. A reminder that electronica’s usually dry colors can also present reflective, enlightened, and, mostly, liquid moments.

“The Dark Side Of The Wonderland”

The necrophile hummingbird & Hamfuggi Records present a marvellous journey on the Dark Side Of Wonderland by Mescalibur.
Alice trip has been revisited many time, from the Jan Švankmajer’s Alice to the Jeff Noon’s Vurt… it’s always very psychedelic… but this time it’s the dark side… then perhaps the rabbit hole is actually more looking like Norman Spinrad LSD description in The Mind Game… you know like watching inside a bubble with the whole surface made in mirror. Some call also this kind of bubble a Eye Ball. I don’t know where you are know but take care, next to listen this, perhaps you will think that you are still in the same dimension… but I really don’t know… Sometime things are not what they seems. I wouldn’t spoil the end of your travel.

Mescalibur is here http://mescalibur.fr/ perhaps… the only one who knows that kind of answers.

Following a couple of challenging years filled with loss and injury, Zakrin brings to bear the tools of experience required to convey the ebb and flow of life- from the light hearted Italo arcade anthem “Burgertime” to the scowling, fuck all anarchism of “Storm the Ramparts”, Zakrin delivers a 12 track ride through a sonic environment that will move you physically and emotionally.

Tomoroh Hidari

“小さな夢達”

This is Tomoroh Hidari (Ivory Bunker Records, Record Label Records, Isolate Records) first new album since 2012’s Some Stars not yet Black Holes, featuring tracks mostly composed over the last 2 or three years, with 1 or 2 going back even further.
Its texture is composed of a mix of field recordings, samples, lush synth pads and heavy basses and intricate beats; while guitars, melodica, toy and Theremin – all played by Hidarisan himself – also make an appearance.

Sword of no Sword
空 (read: ku – meaning: emptiness. In the Buddhist/Zen meaning)
Owl-Stretching Time
秋 (read: aki – meaning: autumn)
猫ホップ (read: NekoHop)
メランコリー (read: Melancholy)
山寺 (read: Yamadera – meaning Mountain Temple. A Temple in Yamagata Prefecture)
Sketches of Pain

The title – 小さな夢達 (Chiisana Yumetachi) – translates as “Small Dreams”: In a world where we’re constantly told to dream big, it is about the Zen of the moment. It is about observing our thoughts and dreams: letting them come and go, rather than chasing after them.
The songs themselves are little vignettes, dealing with Zen (空/Ku) and Samurai philosophy (Sword of No-Sword – inspired by Miyamoto Musashi’s Book of 5 Rings), absurdism (Owl-Stretching Time), cats (猫ホップ/Nekohop), memories (山寺/Yamadera) and finish with a farewell to melancholy (Sketches of Pain).

“from scratch”

“from scratch” balances a fascinating technical approach with a playfulness and accessibility. Tracks like “v1-pt ” and “International Girls ” make great use of vocal snippets, bringing a human touch to the code-driven music. Elsewhere there are infectious rhythms ranging from the abstract to straighter techno grooves. There is a lot going on in these tracks and the album benefits from repeat listens, allowing the intricate sound design and structures to emerge.

“Mad Hop vol.9”

“Sometimes life takes us to the point when nothing seems to make sense, and everything you do turns against you.Burning Rain Forests in the Amazon, vast bush fires in Australia, Oceans drowning in plastic… devastating disasters across the planet. Until all of a sudden everything seems to stand still. An unprecedented crisis, another unexpected threat makes us freeze, takes away basic human rights, locks us up in our homes. Everything and everyone is connected and all is happening for a reason. If things don’t work the way we have planned its time to let go And still- it is a chance. A chance to rethink our values, to profoundly question our ways of life. To meditate, to transcend. The right moment will come again to reach out and spread positive energy. We invite you to dissolve into our music. Meet you on the other side.”
