about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

MIOPEC

“Wet Desert”

This album is a real treasure: produced from 2005 to 2010 and distributed via CD in underground networks, it has been finally unearthed ten years later via a Pueblo Nuevo remastered version.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Chilean musician and producer Marcelo Peña C. (Miopec, Tobías Alcayota, MKRNI, VAN, among others), “Wet Desert” presents an harmonic experimental blending of digital programming, midi sequences and analog samples. Sounds reminiscing ethnographic recordings mixed with experimentation in rhythms, turning into uncanny soundscapes, are turning points on the album. Complex programming and melodies suggesting psychedelic analog keyboards, are also present a-plenty, as a recurring feature in Miopec‘s extensive musical output.

“Wet Desert” is an intimate, auteur album I’ve been listening to for years. It is also twofold: on the one hand, it sounds very well outdoors, played loud, mostly in isolated landscapes, coming together with the environment. On the other hand, considering Miopec’s experience in production and mixing, it is also a pleasant listening experience with headphones, constantly discovering new sounds and arrangements. A reminder that electronica’s usually dry colors can also present reflective, enlightened, and, mostly, liquid moments.

“The Dark Side Of The Wonderland”

The necrophile hummingbird & Hamfuggi Records present a marvellous journey on the Dark Side Of Wonderland by Mescalibur.
Alice trip has been revisited many time, from the Jan Švankmajer’s Alice to the Jeff Noon’s Vurt… it’s always very psychedelic… but this time it’s the dark side… then perhaps the rabbit hole is actually more looking like Norman Spinrad LSD description in The Mind Game… you know like watching inside a bubble with the whole surface made in mirror. Some call also this kind of bubble a Eye Ball. I don’t know where you are know but take care, next to listen this, perhaps you will think that you are still in the same dimension… but I really don’t know… Sometime things are not what they seems. I wouldn’t spoil the end of your travel.

Mescalibur is here http://mescalibur.fr/ perhaps… the only one who knows that kind of answers.

“Wait for Tomorrow”

Wait for tomorrow is the second release by Ron Zakrin on Equal Recordings. This time around, Zakrin piled on the tracks to make a seamless LP worthy of some deep listening. Following a couple of challenging years filled with loss and injury, Zakrin brings to bear the tools of experience required to convey the ebb and flow of life- from the light hearted Italo arcade anthem “Burgertime” to the scowling, fuck all anarchism of “Storm the Ramparts”, Zakrin delivers a 12 track ride through a sonic environment that will move you physically and emotionally.

Tomoroh Hidari –
[mhrk248]

Tomoroh Hidari

“小さな夢達”

This is Tomoroh Hidari (Ivory Bunker Records, Record Label Records, Isolate Records) first new album since 2012’s Some Stars not yet Black Holes, featuring tracks mostly composed over the last 2 or three years, with 1 or 2 going back even further.
Its texture is composed of a mix of field recordings, samples, lush synth pads and heavy basses and intricate beats; while guitars, melodica, toy and Theremin – all played by Hidarisan himself – also make an appearance.

Sword of no Sword
空 (read: ku – meaning: emptiness. In the Buddhist/Zen meaning)
Owl-Stretching Time
秋 (read: aki – meaning: autumn)
A Temple in Yamagata Prefecture)
Sketches of Pain

(Chiisana Yumetachi) – translates as “Small Dreams”: In a world where we’re constantly told to dream big, it is about the Zen of the moment. It is about observing our thoughts and dreams: letting them come and go, rather than chasing after them.
The songs themselves are little vignettes, dealing with Zen (空/Ku) and Samurai philosophy (Sword of No-Sword – inspired by Miyamoto Musashi’s Book of 5 Rings), absurdism (Owl-Stretching Time), cats (猫ホップ/Nekohop), memories (山寺/Yamadera) and finish with a farewell to melancholy (Sketches of Pain).

“from scratch”

“from scratch” balances a fascinating technical approach with a playfulness and accessibility. Tracks like “v1-pt ” and “International Girls ” make great use of vocal snippets, bringing a human touch to the code-driven music. Elsewhere there are infectious rhythms ranging from the abstract to straighter techno grooves. There is a lot going on in these tracks and the album benefits from repeat listens, allowing the intricate sound design and structures to emerge.

Pandacetamol is turning into a regular feature on Kahvi in recent times, this time he’s back with a twelve track album of minimal beats, dark factory atmospheres and a tasting of Autechre influences.

Off key leads, glitchy, shifting direction constantly. Something to chillout to in the summer sun with an ice cold beer or two.

Watch out for Pandacetamol’s retro sound of choice – classic acid.

“Mad Hop vol.9”

“Sometimes life takes us to the point when nothing seems to make sense, and everything you do turns against you.Burning Rain Forests in the Amazon, vast bush fires in Australia, Oceans drowning in plastic… devastating disasters across the planet. Until all of a sudden everything seems to stand still. An unprecedented crisis, another unexpected threat makes us freeze, takes away basic human rights, locks us up in our homes. Everything and everyone is connected and all is happening for a reason. If things don’t work the way we have planned its time to let go And still- it is a chance. A chance to rethink our values, to profoundly question our ways of life. To meditate, to transcend. The right moment will come again to reach out and spread positive energy. We invite you to dissolve into our music. Meet you on the other side.”

Francisco Pinto – Distancia Social

Francisco Pinto – Distancia Social
[pn158]

Francisco Pinto

“Distancia Social”

Times are complicated for music, and even more so for club music. The sound that was created to congregate suddenly no longer congregates, because it is not possible. Although it was nature that locked us in our houses to remind us of our position on the planet, it is also natural to respond to the sound stimulus with the inclination to moveand meet us. It is neurobiology, motor system.

Today, I would lose faith if in this suspended relationship with the community and the state of pause, where we see the days go by from a window, it does not generate the impact to create, incubate new ideas and evolve in our way of living, thinking, generating changes. This is a particular moment: it is an opportunity.

In this context, the new release of the Chilean producer Francisco Pinto, “Distancia Social” (“Social Distance”), is timely and according to the moment in which we live, where it is necessary to explore creative possibilities in the midst of a global pandemic, a brand before and after the “normal”, and in the way how we relate.

This album is part of the House style, this “meta” genre that encompasses sounds from different periods that are reflected in a different format: five original songs and six remixes. Recorded entirely with hardware, (NordLead 2x, Waldorf MicroQ, Orbit 9090 V2, Roland System1m modules, a Jomox XBase 09 drum machine, and a Toraiz sampler sequencer), “Crystal” is the track chosen to open this tour where the beat is stable, and the melodies circulate naturally. Break moment is “Oráculo”, with a more introspective tone.

“Crystal” is also the track remixed by F600, Fernanda Arrau, Marciano, Vigliensoni and Android, which give a new dimension to this LP, nourishing it with new visions. Special mention for the interpretation with broken beats, by Gemelo Malvado.

“Distancia Social” perhaps comes to remind us of that space that we gave for granted, and that has the value to provide us with a sense of security, connection and synchrony with our community. We will delay, but we will recover it because it belongs to us.

Wankers United – Solo Romance

Wankers United – Solo Romance
[dhr-46]

Wankers United

“Solo Romance”

“The World is Over! B-Side”

B-Side in free download here https://archive.org/details/VA_The_World_is_Over__B_side

What is “The World is Over!” :
An odd audio ordeal ?
Or only a meta compilation about to choose if humanity should Stop or Continue.
Both at the sametime… and perhaps a little more. http://necktar.info/Over/Or/

The World is Over… or not. Depend of us.
Each contributor was invited to send one track to one side :
A-side to stop the humanity and B-side to continue.
There is a rough logbook to understand better everything about it. Especially to follow the process.
It begun like a free will quest and it end with more or less that result :
Why the both side are balance ?
Perhaps it’s because of the kind of confusion like A-side could be interprete like to Stop to do not change. And be side like to continue to try to change. Or it is really mostly because everyone who could try to change the world will do everything to be fair with the other side, and will do their best to avoid to kill any ennemy despite the consequences for all… And everyone who avoid to change the world will do everything to be unfair with the other side, and will do their best to kill any ennemy despite the consequences for all. Thus we can only change ourself… Do I say Yin-Yang is a symbol of balance ? Well find your own answers this logbook is just the quest of mine.
And please be patient because I need to work it out a little more…
If you want to digg it jump here :
http://necktar.info/Over/Or/LogBook.html

One step more in a longer process…
Also this is the second special volume of Necktar after PIKADON. https://archive.org/details/How_To_Download_Free_Music_Unusual_Album_Remix_Pikadon Necktar is hard to define… but the multidimensional journey begun 20 years ago. http://www.necktar.info

Why The World is Over! pop up in 2020 ?
This was planned since few months, I first talked about it in august, it wandered something like a step to the last Necktar. I’ve been watching a doc about Yoko & John and then I see again that amazing photo of the action of “The War is Over”. And thought something like :
– gasp, since half a siecle ago nothing change, that’s insane. At this time the biggest problem was war, actually it seems to be the world end with global warming but indeed it’s still war : the capitalism war against life (only my opinion). Then I find this detournement idea because a disruptive event is the better way to realise things are not impossible to change. And in any case a little bit of introspection can’t harm anyone. Like any experiment small talk are better, experiment is more relevant. So between the 1st april 2020 to the 17th june, this project have been work out as a work in progress project, to be able to show the change in the playlist and to follow the whole process in real time.

Technical Informations :
Due to the extremely diverse nature of the tracks I tried to change their sound level as little as possible, for a version without any modification, please use the bandcamp page https://zonefusion.bandcamp.com/album/the-world-is-over-b-side

The World is Over! is dedicated to those who never give up in the face of adversity and thus often end up discovering new paths… Even sometimes to manage to exercise their free will.

Thanks :
Thanks to Yoko Ono & John Lennon for creating « The War is Over ! »
Thanks to those who have chosen to help this compilation to come alive,
without being afraid to challenge the dogma of the human race’s survival .
Thanks to all the listeners who will ask themselves this question :
– If I had a choice, would I choose to stop humanity or continue?

The final word is about the Covid-19 pandemic :

After realizing that this is a simple question of will to be able to prevent the climatic cataclysm. “The Wold is Over! If you want it … “. Residing in France, shortly after the first confinement’s end, I said to a friend :
– The confinement exit here reminds me a bit of a hanged man who remove his rope to walk to a quiet place to pee and then returns to hang on himself.

ESDLCP – Historial de Caidas

ESDLCP – Historial de Caidas
[pn058]

ESDLCP

“Historial de Caidas”

(10 YEARS ANNIVERSARY OF THE RELEASE)

“Could an electronic musician become a pop artist? ‘Historial de Caídas‘, ESDLCP official debut is a statement in that sense: album and composer prove a style naturally leaning towards in-vogue pop music, using collage to create songs filled with non-existing choruses.

Throughout ten tracks, ESDLCP grabs assorted electronic resources to set up and disjoint material. There’s room for programmming, sampling, jamming, and deconstructing here. Everything merges into popular-music-crossing soundscapes, taking listeners into a tour of varieties, styles, and realms: toying with calm moods in ‘Puertas Adentro’, glancing to our folk music in ‘Un paso al costado’, and even flirting with rock music in ‘Cortina de Humo’, ending up with a high quota of pop in ‘A la velocidad del amor’ and ‘Voluntad de oro’.

This diversity sets up an endearing mapping, a fragmented, nice whole, mixing in subtlety all-pervading electronica and organic fantasies. Measured-Pop doses, songs and schemes in harmony, electronic music communicating, trespassing. A healthy way for this José Manuel Cerda solo project, where transforming song as a standard into an in-flux art is taken to exhaustion.”
