about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

update, February 1st, 2026

Dear friends and followers of clongclongmoo. It's great to have you here. As you may have noticed, the site has changed a bit. Some people wanted to be able to access the music with fewer clicks. That should work again now. Here's a quick note to everyone who uses relatively new platforms such as Mirlo, Faircamp, or Coop: feel free to use the submit form to draw attention to your new music. I'd especially appreciate hearing from anyone who runs a netlabel with free Creative Commons music. Thank you! Konrad from clongclongmoo

“Hayagriva”

Vulpiano Records is pleased to present the enchanting ‘Hayagriva’ – five psychedelic, drone-drenched landscapes that inspire the imagination and offer an escape into another world.

Words from Kaelin Bougneit:
Devon and I recorded this (almost) entirely improvised record in short, scattered sessions in early 2019. There was essentially no planning between us and no communication between our equipment, and I think the tenuous, spontaneous nature of that was liberating for both of us. For the first half of this album I focused mostly on guitar and granular resampling; the last half is mostly vocal improv, all within Ableton Live. Thanks for your ears.

Words from Devon Ford:
My part of the project comes from a 9U/312HP Eurorack built around drones, granular synthesis, tape splice/samples, and heavy modulation. I knew I wanted to get into this style when I was first introduced to the sounds of Lustmord. I have always been into crazy psychedelic music as well, so the sound takes on a mix of dark ambient and psychedelia.

Soul Flask – The Cassandra Complex

Soul Flask – The Cassandra Complex

Soul Flask

“The Cassandra Complex”

“Basically the project came into being from the job I do. I work in the waste/recycling industry and have done for 3 years. When I first started I was absolutely mortified at how wasteful we are in this country and likely most of the developed world. There is so much food waste (tins, dried goods that get thrown away even though they are perfectly fine). I eat what I think is OKay. Me and others also find gold, silver, rolex watches etc. I found a bottle of whiskey valued at 1400 pounds. So i was seeing all this waste and then seeing homeless people in the street asking me for money. I would buy them a sandwich and a drink. I sank into a place of strange but thoughtful depression and anxiety. Then we had this idea that you could look inside a skip and come up with a quality band name. I came up with ‘Half eaten loaf’, The rotten carpets, Then I saw a broken thermos flask with all these old photos next to it. Peoples memories… Soul Flask just popped in my head. I then set about taking inspiration for a musical project with influences taken directly from rubbish. Some musical instruments and old vhs tapes provided a catalyst of at least creating a musical message to this madness.

The flask appeared empty, but it wasn’t. It triggered a thought.. That our bodies are vessels. Our Soul can either be damaged or enlightened throughout life. We boil down our whole life’s experience, knowledge and thought, then we carry forward that knowledge and information within ourselves. Within our Flasks, keeping that liquid warm. It’s important that when the liquid overflows out of our Flask, that it does so in a positive way. A helpful and responsible way that can only promote good, so as that other peoples flasks don’t get contaminated. It’s only by following that lifestyle that we can truly transform and then together, we can all go into the future.

With a clarity of soul.

Most tracks have a direct message to them. Usually just questioning our accepted culture as normal without challenging it. But when looking at the bigger picture of which society does its very best to hide. You can’t help but wonder just how long we can sustain ourselves like this. I mean, we all need things to survive. But when these things come to their expiry. We cannot just bury them in landfill. That behaviour is the equivalent to the whole of the human race burying its head in the sand.”

Javier Moraga – Violence is in the air

Javier Moraga – Violence is in the air
[pn152]

Javier Moraga

“Violence is in the air”

In times of social revolution against an abusive economic system, in a Valparaíso that does not yield to brutal police repression, there is also a strong cultural response to this unpopular government that does not listen to any slogan. The artistic expressions that confront this whirlwind of state violence are varied, contributing with creative beauty influenced by the social movement, and it is there where electronic music is also present.

Javier Moraga is one of the most important representatives and diffusers of this musical style in the Valparaíso region. Week after week he delights us with records on his radio program “Sala de Máquinas” (Room of Machines) on the radio Valentín Letelier, broadcasting on the modulated frequency of the “V Costa”, new albums by producers of national and international electronica. His musical knowledge is vast, he has publications in the most important Buenos Aires netlabels such as Modismo and Epasonidos. Furthermore, as a sound technician, we can affirm that his new album “Violence is in the air” leaves no doubt about his great musical experience. We will listen to nine songs that cross the sounds of ambient, glitch and experimental, with great sonic amplitude, expressive frequencies, varied and enveloping samples with a clear avant-garde tendency both musically and conceptually, understanding that, in Chile, today more than ever there exist winds of profound social change.

Joan’s Diary – Vargtimmen

Joan's Diary – Vargtimmen
[IYE37]

Joan’s Diary

“Vargtimmen”

Born in 2011, JOAN’S DIARY made their debut with the ep HYSTERIA for Toten Schwan Records, followed by the album AND OR NOT (Toten Schwan / ® esisto) and HELLO, BLOODY SISTER also on Toten Schwan (which will make use of graphic works by the master Sergio Padovani) and in 2015 TSUCHIGUMO (latest release for Toten Schwan Records).

They partecipate in several compilations and a 4 way split with Luciferi, OV Temple and Inghippo. The latest album was called SINDROME VAUCANSON and was released on Tu-Fa Records in Palermo. The group is made up of Davide Rossi, Luca Rossi and Eleonora Frascatore.

This is a tribute to the memory of DAVIDE ROSSI who in September of the year 2019 had decided to end his existence by giving us an appointment somewhere else.

The tracks that make up this album are drafts of what could have been something new for JOAN’S DIARY and which I found in a forgotten folder on my computer.

I completed them myself, trying to keep faith with Davide’s approach, as far as I could. They represent one of the many ways that I put in place not to forget him and to alleviate the pain still alive for his silent escape.
If he had had them in his hands they would certainly have been different, probably better, but I am not and will never be like him, so take them like this, as they came out.

It is an album that does not seek glory or complacency, but which only aims to keep his memory alive.

Many Thanks to Marco Valente of Toten Schwain Records, and Anime Nere.

Amotken – Life’s A Glitch

Amotken – Life's A Glitch

Amotken

“Life’s A Glitch”

How do you think life originated?
Since bacteria were underwater, the first step in evolution was a mistake.
Thus all the steps that have led to evolution and survival have been errors and accidents: a deformation caused the bacteria to perceive light and develop eyes.
That genetic line survived, and it reproduced by inheriting its genes.
There have been errors in the genetic lines that allow organisms to perceive more information from their environment. By perceiving more information, they are able to survive and develop, protect themselves, and even manipulate this environment.
Natural selection and evolution are just mistakes…
Glitches in genetic systems.
Maybe it has no purpose at all.
We are all the result of a series of mistakes … We are all the result of a series of glitches.

Amotken presents his 4th album: “Life’s A Glitch“, the result of a two-year exploration where a synergy fusion between organic textures and digital and analog glitches takes place. Where electricity adjoins a wooden body and strings to explode in endless textures and changes, taking the narrative through the most innocuous places.

in the forgotten places, in the shunned times?
Rage and melancholy, decay and hope – moods and voices

Monkeeastronaut – The Jungle Within

Monkeeastronaut – The Jungle Within
[SR218]

Monkeeastronaut

“The Jungle Within”

Monkeeastronaut is a solo project of the Italian musician Riccardo Occhionero. The purpose is to bring an experimental mixture of soundscapes trying to evoke for the listener a sense of bewilderment, fear and astonishment, just like a monkey could feel travelling through space. Basically it’s an attempt to explore how human curiosity and arrogance can generate forms of evil that are against the nature of things, using innocent living forms as oblivious witnesses of the utopistic reach of a knowledge that is far beyond the present step in evolution. Oh and there’s some random improvisation as well.

“Beware the beast Man, for he is the Devil’s pawn. Alone among God’s primates, he kills for sport or lust or greed. Yea, he will murder his brother to possess his brother’s land. Let him not breed in great numbers, for he will make a desert of his home and yours. Shun him; drive him back into his jungle lair, for he is the harbinger of death.”

RENEGADE ANDROID

“Downtown”

RENEGADE ANDROiD is the dominant “musical” outlet for non-android American-born Shawn J Shackelford. Having came into existence in the late 1970’s placed his early years in the era of the Atari 800 Home PC & other antique gaming consoles, providing him with musical influence as ubiquitous as electronics are now seamlessly integrated into our every-day lives. R.A. was one of the label’s first artists, with his last release “The Sprawl” in 2004, and his debut album to the labels earliest days in 1999. We’re happy to have this new release of material from a 1st Gen DTRASHER! Features a bonus remix from the super snazzy Venetian Snares.
