about

Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

Poborsk – 11 116

Poborsk

“11 116”

Poborsk makes his Crazy-Language debut with a very special sensory release for us the listeners and to the producer himself. These seven crisp constantly shifting artefacts are the result of a multitude of live tracks, reworked here for cozy home listening, from when the producer opened a gig in Lyon for the legendary Autechre. The giddy excitement is palpable on the craftsmanship present on each song, not only recollecting the Manchester based duo’s latest atonal journeys but with the rhythmic balance and jiggly synth work, trademark of Poborsk’s varied discography. It’s hard not to get up and start contorting your body onto odd angles with bangers such as Docteur Flanger or Collapse.

As is tradition with Crazy-Language’s latest outputs, this release contains 3 very methodical video pieces that seem to clash perfectly with the pristine nature of the audio journey. These glitched, heavily erratic pieces are the contrast needed to bring everything full circle. Or in Poborsk’s case full Euclidean. (FG)

elAstrum – Summer Vacation

elAstrum

“Summer Vacation”

elAstrum could be called the ‘new Kenny Beltrey’ with his upbeat tracks, full of disco vibes and lighthearted melodies.

This eleven track album brings summer to a high powered and enjoyable close, following elAstrum on his typical summer break.

Man From Sol – Fracture Cycles

Man From Sol – Fracture Cycles
[AR_094]

Man From Sol

“Fracture Cycles”

The movement of historical time is catalyzed by the cycles of production that constitute our social totality. When these cycles and this linear march entwine and lose any semblance of mutual control, their inexorable trajectory is towards rupture. Emergent cycles of higher complexity and abstracted alienness to those of us subjected to them exacerbate the very dynamic from which they were borne, but offer the only way out: fracture.

Weldroid – Regenerative

Weldroid – Regenerative

Weldroid

“Regenerative”

From Igloo Mag:

“Weldroid (aka Tamás Zsiros) returns with Regenerative for Kahvi Collective, and this new album is a multifaceted foray of chilled electronics that spans through ambient, synthesizer, and abstract IDM fissures.

Somehow a bit more tranquil in its approach (Zsiros noted that he “decided for a more performance-oriented approach, putting micro-editing and automation aside—and letting unpredictability and probability-based sequencing rule“) each piece admits a softer side the artists’ immense sound bank.”

BeatMyth – Multiply EP

BeatMyth – Multiply EP

BeatMyth

“Multiply EP “

With this EP BeatMyth demonstrates their signature electro breakbeat style – an outgoing onslaught of beats, basslines, synth-stabs, and fast vocal ranting. On the flip a slower-tempo story emerges but keeps us in attentive check: deep gridning bassline, snapy snares and playful details in-between.

Orgonon Sound Machine – Radiation Overload

Orgonon Sound Machine – Radiation Overload
[SCM-1901]

Orgonon Sound Machine

“Radiation Overload”

This first Orgonon Sound Machine’s release on Sucumusic, out for the Netlabel Day 2019, aims to be what the title suggests: a dangerous overload of radiations.

That’s what you’ll be exposed to.

The creative mind of Salvatore, behind the project, lets us exlopre what pure instinct and composition flow means in electronic music. So you can’t say if you’re listening to IDM, breakbeats, industrial or some kind of weird dance music, coloured sometime by ninety-ish rhythmic and synths shades.

elAstrum Waves

elAstrum Waves
[phokes135]

elAstrum

“e-Waves”

The moment, when sound waves surprisingly appear in vacuum.
A cosmic dream symphony,
presented by a playful gravitational wave orchestra.elAstrum is a conscious electronica cosmonaut from Russia, online already known from his releases at Kahvi lately and one album earlier on Otium, as well as different spacey noise releases, that can be found at archive.org.

You can expect masterly sounding melodic electronica, sometimes playful and also sometimes referencing old soviet-russian radio sounds or songs, rising to the uber hymn, the “Epic Rise and Fall”, where all the essentials: love, longing and hope come together for the climax in the Now, heading for the tomorrow, binding you with us and all the other listeners through spacetime.

xDEx – PANTA RHEI (πάντα ῥεῖ)

xDEx – PANTA RHEI (πάντα ῥεῖ)
[mhrk219]

xDEx

“PANTA RHEI (πάντα ῥεῖ)”

xDEx is a project and main scene pseudonym of Victor Prodanov. Lately, the constant accelerating societal decay and de-stricturation, the alienating aspects of the globalisation processes and the so called “common thought” became, by their unavoidability and omnipresence, a field of inspiration and cynicism for this project. Victor’s longstanding fascination with DIY digital and analog electronics has put out a solid emprunt over his sound.

The release “PANTA RHEI” is his first and hopefully not the last on Mahorka, after years of discussions, preparations, variants and waiting for the right circumstances in the right moment to come for this debut on the label. Most of the drum parts are produced with 808 and 909 clones, the non-melodic sound layers are mostly filtered spring and digital reverbs, various overdrives and distortions, feedback loops; there are extensive modular synth recordings and most of the paddy parts originate from a FM8 clone and a Waldorf Blofeld. All tracks were recorded on a multitrack at one shot, with little post-editing.

Mikk Rebane

“Between”

Say Hello to synth electronica artist Mikk Rebane from Tallinn, Estonia,
presenting his newest album here at Phonocake. His music is softly depressing and mildly pushing at the same time,
kind of an athletic and powerful melancholy.
An electrifying poetic view on life.

Hardwired

“Liminal”

We’ve featured Hardwired before in a previous VA compilation, but thought it would be good to feature the man again in his own EP release. Liminal is a selection of works from Hardwired back catalogue.

Some retro sounds (angular), very autechre sounding work (folding rna) and even Boards inspired (2nd last dream, 3rd last dream). Mellow, chilled out, atmospheric, in time for the summer sun.

KiB – Lithuanian Metrica

KiB – Lithuanian Metrica
[EEM046]

KiB

“Lithuanian Metrica”

Take a pipette and drip a drop of water on your own palm. Transparent drop, full of invisible organisms, chemical elements, and personifications. Looking at the drop, thoughts are spinning. With the other hand rub the drop until the drop penetrates the skin and disappears. Hands need lots of water, but it’s enough for this time. Look at the lake…

The album was based on Lithuanian Chronicles, history and historical personalities, who might be connected to each in strange ways. While working on each track special attention was given to convey with sounds all the aspects of each historical personality and their influence on the history of Lithuania.

elAstrum

“Freqmod”

We’re heading back to the 90s with this album by guest artist elAstrum, heavily influenced by Kraftwerk and Orbital, and chip music from 80s home computers such as the Commodore 64.

Extreme retro vibes with those addictive, glitchy melodies that those of a certain vintage can very well remember. Exciting, harsh, melodic and retro in 15 tracks.

JKP – Film-Noir

JKP – Film-Noir
[20k361]

JKP

“Film-Noir”

JKP’s chiptune releases between 2005 and 2010 had a strong influence on how 20kbps and lobit was perceived in that era and it also affected how I looked at my label.

Nine years later, it’s a different world. A different netaudio scene. And of course, 20kbps has changed as well. Nosthalgia is big, everything is retro. JKP takes it some steps further with a short EP dedicated to Film Noir. The four tracks use samples from four movies: Impact, He Walked By Night, Plan 9 From Outer Space and Manos: The Hands Of Fate. Only the first two are Film Noir, the other two are Horror B Movies. Being a cinephile I’ve seen them all, in the period when JKP was first releasing here. You see, everything is connected.
