Since 2010, many netlabels and artists publish their new free music releases on the clongclongmoo website. Free means that you don't have to pay anything or register to download music. However, you can usually pay something to support the artists. Please note the licenses under which the music is published. This is important to know what you are allowed to do with the music. Please visit the labels' homepages to get the free music. Most files are published under a creative commons licence. At netlabellist you will find an extensive list of websites that also offer (or have offered) free music. If you run a netlabel yourself or offer your music for free and want to draw attention to it, you are welcome to use the submission form. And remember that clongclongmoo is not there to do business, because “Business Is Not My Music.”

SENYAWA – Alkisah Dikisahkan

SENYAWA – Alkisah Dikisahkan
[YESNO 099]

SENYAWA

“Alkisah Dikisahkan”

2020 is not only marked by the coronavirus pandemic. It was stormed by thousands of natural disasters and human rights violations that had started decades earlier. 2020 is the peak of human greed and vanity which is the result of the capitalistic culture. The only way to deal with this is to open ourselves up to cooperate with one another. It looks simple if you are a utopian. The tradition to organise a small scale group with intensive multiple proxies is very necessary for the welfare of the people. Collective method like this must be carried out with a slow, long process, and requires a lot of courage because it will be faced with the big systems that does not want to share their benefits.

In 2019, Senyawa began to initiate a business unit to independently face the challenges of its economic sustainability called Senyawa Mandiri. This unit is also designed to reduce dependence on giant corporate products. As time went on, Senyawa Mandiri developed into a political stance for Senyawa themselve. It is no longer Rully Shabara and Wukir Suryadi. It was transformed into an open and egalitarian multi-entity.

During the coronavirus pandemic, Senyawa became increasingly convinced that the centralization of the art ecosystem and its industry was no longer relevant to the community. Senyawa new album, titled Alkisah, is a social tool that wants to break down the centers of the current arogant ecosystems. Alkisah consists of 8 songs and a collective system across cultures and continents. It was mixed and bred with 44 music labels and hundreds of musicians around the world.

As a supporter of Senyawa since 2010 and as a label that encourages an open-culture movement, Yes No Wave Music takes part in Alkisah module by releasing the album’s stem tracks provided for everyone to participate in reproducing the album. This stem album is accompanied by a remix sets titled Alkisah Dikisah. We invited 8 musicians: Wahono (Jakarta), Nursalim Yadi Anugerah (Pontianak), Prontaxan (Yogyakarta), Gabber Modus Operandi (Denpasar), Y-DRA (Yogyakarta), Pisitakun (Bangkok) and Slikback (Nairobi). Every remix is a free interpretation and artistic speculation of impossibilities to giving birth the art decentralization mutations.

Bon-Psy & Visco City – Serene

Bon-Psy & Visco City – Serene
[BHQ003]

Bon-Psy & Visco City

“Serene”

Bon-Psy & Visco City, two of the most exciting new artists within the Experimental Electronica scene, work together in harmonious fashion on their latest release ‘Serene’.

Both artists, having seen great success in 2020, effortlessly blend their two unique styles together to create something magical. ‘Serene’ is a rollercoaster, an amalgamation of different styles that they are able to effortlessly weave in and out of. Here they find balance between their approaches, and the result is five minutes of Electronic bliss.

Whilst ‘Serene’ is a standout release on its own, the accompanying Music Video presents further material to be dissected. Each section of the video corresponds to the four total lunar eclipses preceding the extremely rare “Blood Moon”. The alignment of the moon with the sun is a rare occurrence, and much like ‘Serene’ is an experience to be in awe of. Fleeting doves in each section suggest harmony, the rarity of a “Blood Moon” personifies the unlikeliness of two producers flourishing together so well.

Bon-Psy & Visco City kick off 2021 with grace and style, ‘Serene’ is an exciting proposal of what is yet to come.

Rafael Cheuquelaf – Austronautica

Rafael Cheuquelaf – Austronautica
[pn181]

Rafael Cheuquelaf

“Austronautica”

From Straits of Magellan, Rafael Cheuquelaf, a member of the duo Lluvia Ácida, presents us with his solo project, an interesting musical contribution in which he decided to dust off some treasured machines like the Moog Realistic M-1 synthesizer, in order to give the album a sufficiently characteristic sound and close a complex 2020 battered by the pandemic.

Almost like a meditation from a distant place, Rafael has captured the immensity of the Patagonian landscape, crossed by some antennas along with the hole in the ozone layer and its UV radiation. Musically, his album “Austronáutica” transports us to styles like Synthpop, Ambient, Dub and Synthwave, with solid basses, enigmatic melodies and multiple arpeggios, which evoke the influence of artists like Vangelis, Popol Vuh, Jean Michel Jarre and Pansonic, to name a few. We could imagine when we close our eyes that we are “Under the Milky Way (Bajo la Vía Láctea)” or that we hear the “Microplastics” coming through the speakers.

Without a doubt, this album will take us to other sonic latitudes that will please the ears.

Johann Mazé & Jihem Rita – Autre Brousse

Johann Mazé & Jihem Rita – Autre Brousse
[D!HR-48]

Johann Mazé & Jihem Rita

“Autre Brousse”

For its 48th release, Da ! Heard It Records takes a leak into the unknown.

On the sleeve picture, conceptualized by Pia-Mélissa Laroche, Johann Mazé chooses the bag race to cross what seems to be a rural garden. In simple terms, he thus shows the listener the step to follow: one must jump with feet together in this eccentric universe with blurry borders, as if out of some dream, at the very place where a sleepy memory weaves strange links among things.
Here, enigmatic voices escape a house without walls into which one enters through the roof; improbable ritualistic rhythms form alternately the outlet of an imaginary tribe or a parade of a cannibalistic Yellow Jackets’ batucada; elsewhere, a wobbly walz lulls the ear with soft dissonances; farther still, a piano turns off in the night, a harmonica rises, a metronome sets the tone of a charade of diverse and catchy percussions…
Like an exquisite cadaver on a piece of paper that we unfold little by little, each new piece of the puzzle opens the door onto an unexpected territory. Passing from one thumbnail to the next though, the atmospheres answer each other with a clever sonorous montage, a patchwork of field recordings, of sonorous poetry… more

Information Ghetto

“Magnetic Position”

Visual echo of cosmic waves;
the mountains of creativity embracing time;
invite for a lustful dance.

Information Ghetto a.k.a. Clapan is no stranger to the net music scene of the last 20 years. Even more than on the net, he is known for his vinyl records, especially in the techhouse area. And with this sound he is also present on his Phonocake release, but we span a wider range on the album, from melancholic dream-ambient, to blade runner like scene music, IDM electronica, to the title track, which lets us take off in a highly energetic, high-flying, ecstatic way, until we end in 10-minute techno pieces that also contain electronica. Have fun on this journey through the musical world of Information Ghetto.

“Pink Dream”

a soothing translucent ambience

<em>Pink Dream</em> is the third album released by Portland based ambient producer Elijah Knutsen under his new-age imprint <em>Memory Color</em>. The album is an exploration into the ambient side of cemented genres such as Shoegaze and Dream-Pop. Inspired by artists and groups like Harold Budd, My Bloody Valentine, and Cocteau Twins, Pink Dream consists of four translucent soundscapes, washed in reverb and tremolo-like modulation, and melded with subtle field recordings.

Aysen – Dijimos Apruebo, pero el Rechazo esta en todo

Aysen – Dijimos Apruebo, pero el Rechazo esta en todo
[pn180]

Aysen

“Dijimos Apruebo, pero el Rechazo esta en todo”

“Dijimos Apruebo, pero el Rechazo está en todo” (We said I approve, but the rejection is in everything), whose title is a re-reading of a theme by Nicolás Jaar, appeals to different historical moments in Chile, where the feeling remains, things seem to change, but in their essence they keep the same. Many times we can think that we are in limbo, in a context of hopelessness shaped like a rainbow similar to the 1989 elections between YES and NO. However, the social outbreak of 2019 exploded a strong idea: that a change can be generated from individuals, an ideal time to modify the foundations of any society.

I do not believe that we can be oblivious to social changes, be blind to the evils that we as societies possess and that we have strongly sought to change. Music is a social reflection and represents important milestones that happen around us and influence us in the form of sound waves, such as the drought in Chile and in various parts of the world, social conflicts on all continents, looted and exploited natural resources , along with inefficient transportation systems, all of them are social ideas that are present and influence me when composing my music.

This album has taken about 3 years to be created, where the main instruments used were the Elektron Octatrack Sampler, the Analog4 synthesizers, Roland MC-202 and Yamaha Portasound, plus some sounds sampled with Ableton Live. I hope that listening this album is a real journey, as for me it was to compose it every afternoon and night from my studio in Santiago de Chile.
